Yea, and there in our food ?The cdc says to heat hotdogs and cold cuts to 165degress to kill the this strain ? Sorry I'll stick to being a vegatarian, then I dont have to worry about getting worms or other parasites, from what I eat....

@supersonicbird11 ??? -> Fruits + vegetables can also contain bacteria or spores of bacteria that could do more harm to your body than a "worm" or "parasite" would. Listeria is a bacteria btw

Vegetables and Fruits that are not well washed or improperly harvested can contain some very dangerous pathogens. Being a vegetarian has many health benefits (as long as you supplement iron and make sure to get complete proteins - easier said than done!) but avoiding parasites and bacteria altogether is NOT one of them.

@supersonicbird11 The most recent outbreak of listeriosis, caused by L. Monocytogenes, spread through Cantaloupe, something I'm sure all people, vegetarian or not, eat.

The reason Listeria monocytogenes is seen so much with food poisoning is because it can grow at 4C (in your refrigerator)
