@DeathMetalTim32 Recommended if you want something half way between a Schecter and an Ibanez, and that you won't be pissed about modifying. My list of things to do to this guitar are: add a "guthrie button" (bridge pickup -> max vol into output), swap the 3 position LP-style switch for a Strat-style switch, swap the EMGs for something else (got some dimarzios from years ago but they won't fit width-wise). It's great stock, but after about a year of playing it you start to want a little bit more.
@opeth223 very sad that you live in Australia my friend. But seriously for the cover thing, it'd be pretty sweet. I don't know if you have video editing software, we could do one of those side by side vids. Did you tab this by ear or you got hold of some tabs? Cuz some sections are spot on (I learned from Forest and one of my friends managed to get snippets of official tabs)
@opeth223 Oh actually, turns out I do have the solo guitar track so I could probably cut videos up and do the split-thing. I didn't make a transcription of it, I learned it by ear over the course of about 3 or 4 hours. Since I'm playing it on a 7 string tuned to AEADGBE the way I play it is probably a little different. I remember Patrick said something about releasing a transcription book for Concealed but I don't think he ever did. I really wanted to learn Alien Shores :P
@Septicaemia Well you did a fucking fine job. The intro tap might be a little off (I'm not sure if guitars do like bass) my friend plays it different. He also started an alien's shore tab a long time ago, never completed it though. Patrick isn't releasing jackshit :P he's too busy with his lutherie, band and work. Let me know if you wanna go through with that double vid thing, it would be pretty sick. You can check out my other Augury covers

@opeth223 Haha, very. Agile Interceptor -> MI Audio TubeZone Overdrive -> clean channel on a Randall RG75G2 -> SM57 slightly off axis. I don't know if I have the solo guitar track anymore, that could be a problem :/
@Septicaemia What solo guitar track? I think I also have parts of official skyless tabs (I have the bass tab I wrote out, it could help you out since it's forest's composition anyway, the guitars probably don't stray too far from the original material)
@opeth223 Oh, I meant the audio of my guitar from this video. If you record a bass cover of it I can just cut the two together rather than having to re-record another video of me playing it. (I guess I could still do that, I used the demo version of the track after all.) I tried to correct my fretting positions by watching live videos, but I couldn't really see what Mathieu was doing in any of them (most of what I played is probably his part). Whatever I couldn't hear or couldn't see, I made up.
@Septicaemia Alright, well i could arrange you to send the bass tabs, and I'll ask my friend for the incomplete guitar tabs as well (most of the time pat sends unfinished tabs). It'll give you a chance of correcting some parts, I'm pretty sure you're over complicating some parts :P (not a bad thing). I can't do it right now cuz there's something wrong with my wrist. I record direct cuz I don't have a good mic, I'll try to make it sound good. Nice assimilation of loomis by the way
@Septicaemia loool, night owl as well? I'm trying to cut that shit out, you know, become a regular jackoff. I'll need your e-mail so I can send the files (I assume you have guitar pro 5.2 or higher). Message me that shit my friend
@Monhold I think I "started" when I was in 7th or 8th grade (2002/3), so that's about 8 years isn't it? I didn't really start taking it seriously until 10th grade and beyond. Time flies.
@Monhold Not really, I've changed them maybe twice since I got it. I check the voltage regularly with a little multi-meter, and I don't really notice any "tone-suck" when it gets to 6v or less. Better than I expected, having not used active pickups before.
@Septicaemia And so I, my Ibanez hasn't an active pickup but until I get as good as you (or even better) I won't need it... there's alot to learn, thanks for the infos and till then ;-)
@greysequences I actually like it a lot more. Maybe it's because I listened to it like crazy when it turned up on the internet back then. The mix is a lot clearer, plenty of air above 17khz for the cymbals, the drums and vocals are slightly less compressed and reverb-y, guitar tone is less scooped and distant. The album's mix disappointed me a little, but the songs are amazing so I can't really complain too much :P
@walrussalad Sorry, I did it all by ear and I didn't bother to make them as I was going. I thought about writing out what I played, but it's kind of a hybrid between both guitar parts and I'd want any transcription to be totally accurate. Also I'd end up wanting to do the drums/bass as well, and just listening to them ruins any motivation I have left, ahaha. Get Amazing Slow Downer, tune down to AEADF#B or AEADGBE(what I used on my 7-string) and just agonise over it until you get it. Good luck!
@Septicaemia Thanks for the answer. You did a great job by ear I must say, and I have this program called Capo for mac I'm currently getting into, just have to download the track. But first I need a 7-string, and that's actually how I found your channel, I'm gonna buy the Agile Septor Elite 725 EB Natural. It looks similar to yours!
@Slidebite Not a whole lot happening. Since I finished my degree in march, mostly just building websites/recording/mixing things for people in lieu of an actual job, writing/recording/covering shit and loafing about. It's pretty pathetic really, haha. When is the 320-minute Human Atrocity demo compilation due for release?
@Septicaemia I know what you mean, shit sux, especially when you do internships or oddjobs and being paid in experience rather than actual money. Anyways, atm I only have about 79 tracks that I'd consider to be listenable, and they total about 2hr 12min in combined length. I'm trying to make it an even 80 tracks just because. I can upload what I have now if you want to see how my shit has evolved from mindless chugga to dissonant chord abuse. Let me know.
Awesome vid!!! How's the quality of your Agile guitar??

Very clean my friend, I'm impressed (for once). We should do a dual cover of that song (I know it all on bass). Sounds like mesa tone, am I mistaken?
