i have a question i tried to install the firmware and it failed the installation and now my phone wont turn on properly it goes to the htc boot logo then it turns off and turns back on never completing the boot i tried a full wipe and a restore a few time still have the same problem any way i could fix it ? thank you
@filaadhd14 Hey! This issue has been caused because the Firmware file must have been uncompletely downloaded or incomplete. What I suggest you to do is to connect the SD card somehow, redownload the P58IMG, connect the SD card again, go to Bootloader to install the new Firmware. Once it's done, there is a chance it still won't boot so simply wait for 15min then turn off the phone. Then reconnect the SD card to delete the Firmware image. Once you have finished that, place the SD card again...
@filaadhd14 Then go back to Bootloader mode and choose recovery. Do a Full Wipe of Cache, Dalvik and Factory Reset. Install the ROM from ZIP and DONE! This should set you up. I really hope this helped!
Hey thanks for your help my phone works now, i flashed Virtuous Quattro before and it didn´t work ... Do you know the differences between Inquisiton and Quattro ?
@Xx7inNxX That's great! As for the differences, Quattro is build from scratch Source Code from Google, so completely AOSP also this project is on hiatus. As for Inquisition, it is a ROM that has been stripped off of Sense. ATM, it has removed all Sense parts except the Flashlight and Camera since those are better. So definitely, Inquisition is the one to choose.
@Depu85 Hey! Sorry for the late response! As for the Firmware, once it is placed inside of the root of the SD Card and once boot into Bootloader mode, the firmware is automatically detected and VOL UP is used to install. If it does not happen that way, then make sure the file you downloaded is not corrupted and also that the name is P58IMG.zip and not another name. :)
@ELi2190 Really sorry for the late response! But as of now, the only HTC drivers available are for Windows 7 64bit only! As soon as there is a newer method or more options to be able to install the ROM we will update the description :)
Can somebody help me!? I did exactly what this video did, and the ROM starts up, but it isn't 2 seconds and I get continues message's saying "Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped". IT NEVER ENDS! Please help me, thanks!!
@nolanklunder Hey there! So, if everything was followed and you are still getting errors, that means that there is only one issue...The files you downloaded were corrupted somehow and was not 100% bug free. So please re-download the ROM and Firmware and repeat the Flashing process. SuperCID is permanent and therefore you would not need to do that. Hope this helps and also feel free to subscribe :D
@iEnjoid Haha, well, when I just got my phone...literally the first day...I got a Boot loop and then the following week I bricked my phone! It is scary but it is worth it.
Remember, you are bound to make mistakes as we are human after all. The Official ICS port will be at the END of Quarter 3 this year...quite a while still. However if you muster the courage, it will work as long as EVERY SINGLE step is followed...to the letter :D
@iEnjoid Yeah, I'll wait too. I have the worst luck when trying to do shit like this lol. Great that HTC has announced that ICS will roll out in the beginning of March.
@SheYzOnE Hey! Could you please clarify to tell us what do you mean by "Firmware update 3xxx?"
In this tutorial we showed how to flash the Firmware which is the one needed for an ICS based ROM being 3.24.401.1. I am not too sure what else would you like us to show.
Hi i think this is a great video thanks a lot for making it!
I do have one question though... i noticed u were already running an ICS ROM, so when u rebooted after the firmware update it did not cause any problems. However, I am coming from a gingerbread ROM, so when I try and reboot with the new firmware surely this is going to cause issues?
Is there an option after applying the new firmware to go straight back to recovery? or do I need to do a battery pull and go into bootloader?
@fredcorp66 Hey! That's a great question! The thing is, to get to the original ICS ROM from a Gingerbread ROM, all you have to do is follow the same instructions and everything will work perfectly fine. The issue is that the new Firmware, doesn't sit too well with GB so whenever you want to go back, you'll need to flash the previous Firmware.
@fredcorp66 Part 2: As for the question of entering Bootloader after flashing, you can boot into your ROM, it will be laggy though, delete the Firmware, and reboot into Bootloader to go to recovery and then Wipe Data, Cache and Dalvik and you will be able to run a very close to perfect Ice Cream Sandwich ROM.
However, if it does freeze at the boot screen, give it about 15min to ensure that the new Firmware has been flashed. After that, pull out the battery, connect your SD card to your PC, delete the firmware, reconnect everything and then go to Bootloader > Recovery to install the ICS ROM.
Hope this helped! Feel free to subscribe for more content :D
The adb tools are only available for the 64-Bit Windows...at the moment BUT as soon as some other options are available, I'll keep the description updated!
I feel so sad = = .... I should have read the threat or tube before i flash my HTC sensation.
I did the E-off and Cockwork recovery. than flash the custom ROM [insertcoins] with fail. On the web, there has no info regarding to must do with CID.......... therefore, I just skip it. ==
@TheJrhighhero Hey! The Firmware that needs to be installed is 3.24.401.1. If your Firmware is 1.23 then the flashing process was not properly done. Download the appropriate Firmware, place it in your SD Card's ROOT and then enter Bootloader Mode (PWR and Vol DOWN), it will then automatically detect it and press Vol UP to flash the new Firmware. Hope this helped! Don't forget to subscribe for more content :)
hey after i did the firmware upgrade, and when i go to choose install from sd card, it begins to install the rom, it says Formatting System as EXT4. E: Error in /sdcard/Insertcoin_ICS_RC1_4.4.4.zip (status 1) Installation aborted.
@BetterDayz19 It seems you have contact lock so I will post the message here in parts:
So let's begin. First things first, I need to know what steps did you take. Did you have a ROOTED HTC Sensation? Were you able to grant SuperCID, were you successfully able to Flash the Firmware? Did you delete the Firmware BEFORE going to Bootloader > Recovery to install the ROM? Did you do a Full Wipe of Data, Cache and Dalvik?
Those are the questions. Please respond to them and IF you have done all of those actions and the flashing of the ROM did not work, then the reasoning is pretty simple. The ROM file that you have downloaded is either corrupted or Missing Data.
I once downloaded a ROM at 86.3MB, installed it and it bricked my phone. Took me a couple of hours to finally realize that the actual ROM size was 86.6MB...so ALWAYS double check to see if you have the completed files.
@allboutandroids I installed SebastionFM's overclocked kernel and now there is sleep lag. when I press the sleep button to put the phone to sleep it takes a second to lag. how can i fix this?
So I redownloaded the update firmware on my desktop this time instead of on my laptop. And BAM it worked. So I'm taking something is wrong with my laptop. But thanks for the help.
@diablokendall1 Haha, that's great! Perhaps the file you downloaded on your Laptop was missing some Bytes. I actually bricked my phone because my ROM was 86.3MB when it should have been 86.6MB! Anyway, thanks for the sub, glad we could help :)
@diablokendall1 Hey! Make sure that you downloaded the appropriate Firmware for the ROM you chose. Next make sure that the name of the Firmware is PG58IMG.zip and lastly make sure that you placed it in the ROOT of your SD card that is the first view when you open it up on the PC. Boot into Bootloader Mode (PWR and VOL DOWN), and then it will automatically detect the Firware and Vol UP will install it. Hope this helped!
@richardandnanny Hey! Have your installed the "ADB drivers"? You can only do this with ADB drivers, the normal HTC one will not able you to do this. You should download the file, and then go to device manager, look under USB for Unknown Device OR Android Device, and then browse for the drivers you just downloaded. Also don't forget your phone should be in Charge Only mode as well as Debugging has to be check on.
Hope this helped, and don't forget to subscribe :)
@Casanova050393 I'm sorry no. At the moment the only method involves a PC using the Android Debug Bridge, ADB. As soon as a newer method comes out, we'll make sure to get a new video out on how to do it :)
@allboutandroids oh so then i'll wait until there is a stock update from the htc update from the phone, i have too much saved stuff on it that i dont want to lose. I hope it would come in a month or so ")
@arandajeanluc Exactly! You could also do a Titanium Backup of your apps but it won't be able to save you messages and other stuff, but for app data it's great :)
