Hi there, Im a BJJ/MMA practitioner and at the moment I have an injured left knee from a wrestling throw that went bad.
I cant wrestle or do BJJ for at least 2-3 months while my ligaments heal and I was wondering if you have any recommended kettlebell/dumbell workouts I could use to maintain strength and stop me getting fat during my "down time" ?
i have tremendous respect for Dave Whitley. I hope i am not being disrespectful by asking this. Why is it that despite all his kettlebell knowledge, strength and ability, he still looks rather 'large' around the torso region? No doubt he has strength that i will never attain, but with all the talk about kettlebells being the perfect functional tool to burn fat and tone up with, Dave Whitley doesnt really seem to fit the bill, know what i mean?
@songbai It's all in how you train. If Dave focused on a fat burning workout, he would slim down. Dave's an old-time strongman, his main focus is on getting stronger so he can pick up heavier stuff. I will say that over the years he has lost weight. For his size, he's not only strong as hell, but more flexible than me, and I'm a little guy!
You're limited by your imagination, that's true, but you're also limited by your hand size - not a lot of people could get their hand around two kettlebells. I'm a big guy and I can barely get my hand around two kettlebells.
His back isnt gonna last too long bending like that

Very good explanation of ladder breathing or the ladder principle for complexes by relating it to the double kettlebell workout with a partner.
