Left handed people are smarter. Anyway, I'm confused, my professor told us we can't used 0 in 1st dial...I was wondering why did you apply 0 in 3:14...as far as I know we haven't yet discussed permutation. And I'm not sure if the 0 thing I'm asking you is combination?.
For the multiple choice question, aren't there technically 6 ways to answer each question because you can either pick A-E or decide to not answer at all? Or in the problem are we assuming that you have to pick a choice?
As to the final problem, if > 7/10 is failing and there are 10 questions and 5 possible answers for each, what method can you use to determine in what number of the possible 9,765,625 outcomes you would score < 7/10?
This video and the permutations and combinations videos were really helpful to me! You're awesome! The only problem was that I kept expecting to smell that Sharpie in the air, hah
This cleared up my questions about the counting principle. Do you have any videos about Pascal's Triangle? My mathbook doesn't explain that very well.
If we have 2 pair of blue shirrt,1 white shirt, pair of blue pant and pair of white pant,in how many ways one can wear itI got answer as 8 but its actually 6...how is that
I have watched several of your videos and you have helped me so much in my intermediate algebra class. Your explanations and examples are excellent. Thank you so much!!
to fill in the blanks. pick the 'ones' digit first - you have 4 choices for this number (since it must be even) leaving 6 choices for the middle digit and 5 for the 'hundreds' digit
I need help with this question. If possible use an equation and if you could explain that would be great :)
A letter is selected at random from the alphabet. Find the probability that the letter is a vowel or comes from the word HELPFUL

Today I learned the mathematical proof on why I shouldn't haphazardly guess on the SATs. Thanks for the math and motivation...

Does order matter in the multiplication principle? In other words when counting is AAB the same as BAA?

Hey Patrick please help me in this problem.
Prob: From the digits 0 1 2 3 4 5 and 6, how many three-digit even numbers can be formed if each digit can be used only once?
desmonrock21 2 years ago
i will guess that you can make 120
imagine picking the numbers ___ ___ ___
to fill in the blanks. pick the 'ones' digit first - you have 4 choices for this number (since it must be even) leaving 6 choices for the middle digit and 5 for the 'hundreds' digit

thanks..
how about this problem Pat.
From the digits 0 1 2 3 4 5 and 6, how many three-digit numbers greater than 330 can be formed if each digit can be used only once?
please explain how to solve it.

hahah - i am like a drug dealer.

subsequent samplings require more incentives!
patrickJMT 2 years ago
@desmonrock21 There are 3*3*5 = 45 permutations. ;)
