Well then I'm happy to hear YOUR perspective on the whole thing. I won't doubt you that Chaves is not a good man, still I beleive that he has my president beat hands down. As for him not renewing the stations licence, well they did participate in the attempted coup so I still feel he is justified in doing what he did.
He participated in a coup as well in 1992. He was in jail for two years. Why isn't anyone in jail for participating in the supposed 2002 coup? BECAUSE THERE'S NO PROOF.
So? you saw the TV that day, so did i, meaning what?. Did anyone go to jail? All i'm saying is: if that's the case and they participated, they must go to jail, right? Even in THAT, the government is incompetent or they CAN'T put them in jail because they don't have proof.
That would be a good quaestion if I was from Venezuela. Please understand that Chaves' coup is supported by the people of Venezuela. He was realected by the people of Venezuela again by a landslide. What that tells me is that this man is looking out for the best interest of his people and they support him. Indeed I would support a coup if my goverment got out of hand. Right is right and wrong is wrong. Chaves is actually better that most of the other South American presidents.
And during the opposition march to the Presidential palace to overthrow the government (the illegal act that served as the catalyst for the coup) RCTV kept encouraging the march and had a sign on the bottom of the screen the whole time - Ni un paso atras, not one step back.
If CBS, CNN, or BBC ever acted in a similar manner I think it is safe to say that would be the end of them too.
RCTV is not being shut down for simply opposing Chavez - as those articles seem to imply.
It is not having its license renewed because it actively participated in the April 2002 coup against the government. Have you ever watched what it broadcast during that time. During the evening of April 11th as the coup was underway they had the officers leading the coup in RCTVs studios broadcasting orders over the airwaves and calling on military units not involved with the coup to surrender.
That TV station as you call it was involved in an attempted take over of the presidency. Would you allow Fox news to take over our white house? LOL Bad question........
