Why do these make me cry every time? I've grown up with GSDs for most of my life. I will pass from this world with them next to me. Some would be glad to tear up a car seat or 2 with your beloved Kate and Tank. Here is to the GSD bond we share and to my own King, Queeny, Rex, Major, and Angle who have passed and to my living Gunny and Thor.

Watching your movie took my memories about my Shepherd (1992-2006)... as I cried that day, I cried today watching your movie. As someone mentioned - it is so hard when the dog dies. Why they can't live as long as humans do? It's so unfair...

It took me over year to make my mind and now I have next Shepherd. He's today almost three years old... he's so strong, courageous, attached, devoted... on my channel you'll find some movies with him.

I am sorry for your loss. I recently adopted a German Shepard from the Humane Society, and she is an amazing dog. I have never seen such intelligence and loyalty in a dog before. I laughed at the chewing up car seats because my GSD began a habit on chewing on the furniture! Thank god for Bitter Apple, lol.

About 1,5 years ago my german shepperd died....still miss her every day. I try not to think about the loss, but about all the nice years she gave me. They're the best friends a person can have.

I had seven but lost my oldest last month to DM. Max was my best friend and I loved him with all my heart and soul. My Vet tried his best to save him but the DM slowly took over and he was becomming very sick. I had Max for one last weekend and I laid next to him on a blanket in the backyard and he snugglednext to me and licked my hand. I will see him again one day and we will go to the lake again. God Bless him.

Sorry to hear... Its hard to loose a dog, but, then there's always a new one to look forward to. I learnt so much with Kate, and, I've now learnt so much more with Heidi. Dogs are sent to help you learn and develop. Each one will help you develop something new. Best of Luck. While I hated to hear it, each day will get easier. The feelings of sorrow will slow ebb away to memories of joy.

My mum's partner was a police dog handler. Our memories are of the dog finding the culprit in a warehouse, looking up at Bob( his handler) and looking back. The chap was cuffed!

Beautiful tribute to a beautiful dog. I was a dog handler during the Vietnam War and still grieve for the dog I had to leave behind in Thailand. Who, was later classified as equipment no longer needed and then euthanized. That was the fate of most of the dogs who served during Vietnam. It is a tough pill for us former handlers to swallow. Anyway, it does me good to see tributes like yours. Thank you.

It's hard to believe that it's been a year since you left. I'm in awe that the video has been watched 8,278 times..

As I work with my new Partner, it seems like there isn't a day we train where the trainers or I don't reference you, and the lessons we learnt together. Heidi shows a lot of the drives you have, without the overwhelming desire to eat the interiors out of my truck. :)

Kate, you may be gone, but you'll never be forgotten.

Im very sorry for your loss. I know the pain you felt because I had a German Shepard who we lost just about 2 years ago. Her nerves became harder to move her around, so we had to put her down. Your video just made my teary eyed, because its not just a pet. Its a best friend.

I actually made a mistake in the end of the video... In my rush to get the video up, I typed Nov. 28, 2007.

The actual date was Nov. 20, 2007, or, exactly 8 years since her litter was born. (What a happy birthday for Tank!)

The 28th came from the fact that she survived 28 days past her diagnosis of acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

Either way, things are pretty empty without her around.

I have to say your video of your Beautiful Kate was very touching. The video certainly shows a happy girl that had a wonderful life with a very loving family.

I lost my 13 1/2 yr old sheph mix boy in April this year - I truly feel your heartache. I am sorry for your loss :(
