@Alaska1925 Dragon's Lair 3D is on PS2 and Xbox1 by the way.Also Don Bluth said he was working on the Dragon's Lair movie during the release of Dragon's Lair 3D for PS2 but there has been no other info since then where the hell is it. Also back in the 80's there was a Dragon's Lair and Space Ace cartoon on TV but the animation was done by Ruby-Spears Productions instead of Don Bluth.
I think this was the natural progression for the franchise. Of course nothing will ever compare to the original, and that NES version was just awful. I think if they could have pulled it off before, this is how the game would have been made in the first place. However, with 3D game tech being a decade or so away they created something equally great with the available technology.
@Madams1977 I have a feeling Don Bluth is working on a new Dragon's Lair much like 1 & 2.
They are proving to be pretty popular on current platforms, DS, DSi, iOS, PSN, Blu-Ray.
That combined with the DL film Don has been talking about I think we will either see the movie and then an FMV game based on that or possibly a "straight to game" release for the film project if they can't get the film picked up by a large studio.
its funny how they could make a DVD version (Dragon's Lair III) of this game by just using gameplay footage of this and use a system of control like the original
this was a fun game, i played a bit and was impressed how they added new stuff, and kept the original sounds, and enemies, it's always nice to see some old with the new... thanks for the upload...
@devuurheer clearly, how many jump'n runs do you know? Thousand or more for sure. And the dragon's lair gc-version is on of them totaly common like Spyro, Crash, Rayman, Kya, bla bla bla bla. but the 2D Verson was something special i known it from the early 90s and it is a little bit game history.
@deedia Special like every other game being released during the CD-ROM boom in the early 90's on PC/Sega CD/3DO and more. Not saying the original doesn't have a place. I'm just saying this version is extremely underrated and the original, while very unique when it was released, got copied to death soon after.
Yeah, very pathetic.... maybe you should tell some other people that, like, hmm.... NOSTALGIA CRITIC, for example? Fact is, most people can think a cartoon chick can be hot. You are an outsider for thinking otherwise.
2 words.. .DA YUM. I don't remember Daphne wearing that! SRSLY! Well Don Bluth, I couldn't have done better myself. And I am a forced to be reconed with when it comes to drawing the female anatomy in cartoon form. DAYUM!
I kinda prefer the animated sequences of the old game despite the game play. I'm certainly willing to get this though. It looks great. That and I lack the equipment to play the original
..\So that basically made it so that you have actual control over Dirk instead of relying on timed button presses? Great concept, just a few years late :)
This would've ROCKED if it came out a few years after the original.
fuck... don't own a gamecube :'(

The best part about that game was the gorgeous hand drawn animation. 3D works for some things, but I think it's highly overrated.
