  • Congratulations on your weight loss & your commitment to fitness! Your question is a good one & no, you are not whining! Severely stretched skin can only be tightened so far with laser therapies. Usually when people undergo a dramatic weight loss & the skin can't bounce back to its previous state, it usually requires the skin to be excised away. Without seeing you, I can't determine what would be best. I would suggest setting up consultations with a few doctors to find out your best options.

  • I live in the Valley and am working on saving up for a procedure. I was raised as a fat kid which stretched out my skin pretty badly. Since then, I have shed weight, 90 pounds or so and am a gym rat through and through. I am very lean and muscular (and vascular) but the saggy midsection from the loose skin makes it feel like i have a ceiling on what I can accomplish. I am coscientious with my diet and exercise regime and would just like that to be reflected in this problem area. Sorry to whine.

  • why cant we just go to sleep? we must be wide awake? doesnt it hurts?

  • @MyraVonD93 There really is no need to put a patient to sleep for this type of procedure. General anesthesia poses more risks than the procedure itself. This procedure is performed through small holes. An anesthetic fluid is inserted under the skin to numb the area being treated. As with any cosmetic procedure, there is pain after as you heal. How much pain is dependent upon many factors: patient's tolerance to pain, amount of areas treated, the specific area, etc. Thanks for your question.

  • I love this video...Is very imformative and give me motivation to do my lipolaser....:)

  • from what age can you have done liposuction?

  • @ieva012 You really shouldn't have any type of body altering procedure performed when you're young and your body is continuing to grow. In fact, regardless of parental consent, I do not know of many physicians who would perform any type of body altering procedure on a minor. There is no standard age limit as it varies with each physician, though. Generally speaking, the youngest most physicians would consider would be in their 20's.

  • Hello. I looked at your photos. Laser lipolysis procedures are so different between physicians. Big factors that vary are the amount of tumescent anesthesia used, the site & number of the puncture holes, the technique of lysing (melting) the fat, & whether or not suction was used & how well that was performed. It's very physician-specific. You had a lot of areas done. That's a lot of trauma for your body & 10 days isn't enough time. Did your doc suction the fat out after the laser?

  • I had laser lipo done, which apparently is the same as smart lipo. I am 10 days in and very swollen. Check out my blog

  • This patient was done a year ago and I honestly don't remember her name since we have made other videos since then. But you could expect an inner & outer thigh procedure to run anywhere between $2500-$5000 depending on how much sculpting needs to be done (i.e., higher up into the side of the hip & under the buttocks & down the backs of the thighs plus the size of the inner & outer pooch). With the legs, it's not the quantity of fat that's being removed, but strategically WHERE it is removed.

  • How much did this particular procedure cost? with both the outer and inner being performed on?

  • If you would like to be put asleep for the procedure can you? do you offer that?

  • @ramseyrachel89 Thanks for your question. Yes, you can go under general anesthesia for this type of procedure if you so wish. We do not do it at our office; however, because we believe the anesthesia causes most of the risks and is truly not necessary.

  • thank for sharing information. What the negatif effect after lippo suction ?

  • @henndri It's the same with any minimally invasive procedure... some bruising, possible hematomas or infection, although they are very rare. The biggest negative effect with standard liposuction is the risk of anesthesia. With awake tumescent liposuction, you are not put under general anesthesia.

  • @YoungMedicalSpa Hi, I'm 18, I weigh 158 pounds and want to slim down to 120-125. I want to get Smart Lipo done, but I'm most curious about the scarring. I don't want any scarring. Do you get scars with Smart Lipo? If so, what size and shape? What is the best cosmetic weight loss procedure that you recommend that would give the least amount of scarring? Thank you for your video, it's very informative!

  • @serenityxoxo Dear Serenity, because of your age & the amount of weight you want to lose, I would suggest you speak with your physician about a weight loss program to safely lose the pounds. SmartLipo isn't intended for "weight loss" or to lose pounds. It is intended for pockets of fat that won't go away with diet & exercise. You're talking about, roughly, a 40 pound reduction in your weight. To do this, you should be closely monitored by your physician.

  • @YoungMedicalSpa Thank you very much for your advice:)

  • @serenityxoxo Serenity, you are most welcome!

  • What is the success rate of liposuction ?

  • @Crishaana Unfortunately, that is almost impossible for me to answer because there are so many dependent factors involved. Some doctors perform laser lipo with mild sedatives & others use general anesthesia. Standard liposuction always requires general anesthesia. The main risk associated with these procedures is the anesthesia. Other factors are, the patient's health status (some don't disclose everything), the doctor's skill level, equipment used, etc. Always check out more than 1 doctor.

  • Hi may i know how many days it'll take to see results like the before and after pics shown.I mean will it swell after the procedure?

  • @happygalCW It really depends on the body area you have treated & how much fat was removed. Yes, you will swell a bit, but mainly it's the tumescent fluid that needs to drain out for about 2-3 days. Remember, this IS surgery! The skin is lifted from the fat layer by the fluid so the laser can melt the fat. Then the skin needs to reattach. Swelling & some bruising occurs so you need to wear your garment. Best results are seen 4-6 months later after your body has healed & skin begins to tighten.

  • @YoungMedicalSpa thank you for your reply!!i have 1 more question: Will there be a reduction in size(thigh) within 1 week after surgery?I hope to attend my dinner event in a slimmer me.

  • @happygalCW Well, I haven't seen your thighs so it's hard for me to answer that because I don't know how much fat you need to have removed. Even for small pouches on thighs, a week is really not enough time to see a dramatic difference. There's still some swelling at that point. Honestly, while at 1 month you may look good, 3-4 months is the optimal time frame. This is depending on the skill of your physician, how much fat is to be removed, how well you take care of yourself after the procedure.

  • @YoungMedicalSpa thank you very much for your information!:) God Bless!

  • @happygalCW You are most welcome! Good luck to you!

  • omg thank you so much! i am planning to have this thigh lipo and its a relief to know it isn't done by a general anesthesia.. im afraid of anesthesia awareness

  • @choanx You are welcome! Just ask a lot of questions and visit more than one physician. Okay? Good luck to you and I hope you get the results you desire!

  • Thank you for responding. I also read that you can have the fat removed injected into your buttocks for reshaping purposes. How does this work?

  • @Realitysck1 You're welcome! The procedure you are referring to is called a "Brazilian Butt Lift". In this procedure, the transferrable fat is injected deeper under the muscle to fill the upper portion of the buttocks so that the butt appears "lifted". Thank you for your excellent questions! We were hoping this video would be educational and informative to others!

  • If you get water jet lipo and have the fat injected into another area, will the body slowly absorb this adipose tissue? Can the fat be injected into your lips like a filler? Or in your face as a filler for wrinkles?

  • @Realitysck1 Great question! The fat that can be absorbed is from cells that were ruptured during the process of harvesting & transferring whole, live cells. Yes, fat can be injected into the face with or without the addition of stem cells or autologous Platelet-rich Plasma & an activated Platelet-rich Fibrin Matrix. Dr. Young won't use the Body-Jet to harvest the fat for transfer to the face, but rather a syringe method. I'm having my cheeks done soon as I lost volume due to age! Can't wait!

  • But this is liposuction right? not smart lipo

  • @The80sTube If you watch the video entirely, when you see the flashing red light under the skin, this is the laser actually melting the fat. After the fat is "melted", Dr. Young uses suction to remove the fat. Some doctors leave the melted fat in the body for it to be eliminated naturally. Dr. Young feels he can achieve better results if he suctions out the melted fat right away. So in a sense, this is "lasering" then "liposuction". We use both the SmartLipo and SlimLipo lasers in our practice.

  • @emerald7219 You are most welcome!

  • 5 liters is the limit that can be removed. Of course, this is totally dependent on a number of factors that have to be taken into consideration to ensure the procedure is safe and efficacious.

  • how much does this procedure cost on someone with 28% body fat, 5'7 155lbs

  • Dear babycee303, the criteria you mentioned really isn't considered when evaluating a price for surgery. The doctor has to see and feel the areas you would want treated to determine the size of the area(s) of fat, the thickness, and the consistency. All of this would determine what devices will be used and how long you would be in the procedure room. Of course, all physician's fees are different.

  • Is there ever the case where the client would not be a good candidate for Vaser and benefit more from a standard tummy tuck?

  • Yes! Many people get these procedures confused with tummy tucks. These procedures are intended for spot areas of fat & not for fat with sagging skin. Some have fat inside their abdominal cavity that can't be removed with these procedures. So surgery is their best option many times necessitating the tightening of their abdominal muscles. We refer to tummy tucks if we feel they would not obtain optimal results (or, the results they are looking for) with a tumescent lipo procedure.

  • is it Painful???

  • @honyDance2fit

There are some parts of the procedure you do feel some discomfort, like the initial lidocaine injections and the tumescent anesthesia going under the skin. Other than that, it's not too bad. Of course, everyone has a different pain threshold. Pain meds and sedatives are also give before the procedure and pain meds are prescribed for after the procedure. The after effects are more achey than anything. Abdomens usually ache more than legs or waists.

  • Oh hells no!!! I want to be asleep. My life will be in God's hands. I hope to wake up, if not so be it.lol I would be the worst patient if I was awake moaning, asking questions and going crazy!

  • @nubian05girl

lol! You are too funny! There are some physicians who would perform a procedure such as this under general anesthesia, if that's they way you want to go. Your best bet, then, would be to seek out a plastic surgeon who has an anesthesiologist on staff. - Be well!

  • You are right! Thanks so much for that advice.lol

  • @YoungMedicalSpa

Some people can get 3-4 areas done in 1 case. It's not the device's fault you sometimes can't do 3 or 4, it's because of the lidocaine in the tumescent anesthesia. Lidocaine is dosed by a person's weight. If the areas are large & more tumescent is needed than considered safe for 1 session, sessions are broken into 2. As far as specials go, we usually don't discount lipo. We have a hard time feeling good about discounting a surgical procedure. It's like "10% off tonsilectomies".

  • So what would you recommend if I was not looking for fat transfer and wanted to get rid of the stubborn fat I had, I am healthy but I am about 16-18 percent. % 5 10 185 male. The fat is located in my chest, stomach, love handle area. With water jet would you be able to do all areas at one treatment? Do you have any specials

  • @Lucky8791

I can't say without seeing you. The best thing you can do is come in for a free consultation. We would actually need to see the areas, how large they are, how thick the layer of fat is, the consistency of the fat, etc. Dr. Young then decides which device he will use to get the best results. Sometimes he uses 2 devices in a case. It all depends on your body as everyone is different.

  • so what is the total fat loss taken out with water jet lip as apposed to vaser or other lipo procedures

  • @Lucky8791

There isn't any difference really because it's the suctioning technique, not the device that gets the fat out. It's the skill of the physician performing the suctioning. It also depends on how much fat is in the area being treated. Don't get hung up on the device that's used. Research the skill and experience of the physician doing the procedure.

  • What is the difference between laser lipo and water jet lipo? Is wter jet lipo faster? can you take out more fat? what is the cost? Is recovery time the same? do you wear compression garments like laser lipo? Can you do several parts at once such as the stomach chest and lower back?

  • Laser lipo melts fat cells. Water jet lipo loosens fat cells and removes them so the fat can be transferred into the breasts or buttocks, if you want. How fast a procedure is, the cost, and how many areas can be done in 1 session are dependent upon the experience of the physician. Water jet lipo seems to have a little faster recovery time. Compression garments are up to the discretion of the doctor depending on what was done. Sorry for short answer, but only have 500 characters to do so.

  • Can the scars created by the insertion be removed?

  • The puncture sites are very small, about 2-4 millimeters. Over time they do fade, but depending on how a person's skin normally scars, some puncture sites remain dark. A couple of things you can do are: use a scar cream like Mederma or Talsyn, use scar healing patches like Neosporin brand, or you can have the scars treated with a fractional laser like the Palomar Lux1540 to help blend the scars into the surrounding skin. This is what we do for stretch marks.

  • Are there any creams you would recommend for shrinking skin of people who have lost alot of fat/weight? That actually work not bs vitamin e shea butter over the counter things.

  • Unfortunately, no. There are no creams that can tighten loose skin after weight loss. Skin can only be tightened by stimulating collagen production beneath the skin with certain aesthetic devices or lasers, or by surgical resection.

  • What kind of aesthetic devices or lasers? Please give me more information. I've lost 125lbs and well the skin has gotten better over time but not quite... :(

  • It depends on where on your body the skin is loose & how loose it is. Age is also a factor. Skin can only tighten so much. Devices like the Titan or Palomar LuxDeepIR can help promote collagen production. Progress is slow, however. You would get 1 treatment/month for several months. As collagen forms, the skin begins to tighten. The face & neck respond better because the skin is thin. The abdomen responds moderately. If you have a lot of loose skin, you may need to have it surgically removed.

  • The major problem area is the bottom of the stomach its really scarred and lose.. i mean its seemed to have started hanging less over time as i work out pretty religiously but... its not quite how i want it to be. I was hoping to do some sorts of treatments without surgery as much as possible.

  • Without seeing you & examining what's going on with your skin, the only thing I can tell you is to check out what is in your area & see if they offer free consultations. Get as many opinions as you can. The key words you used were "not how I want it to be". To be honest, you have to have realistic expectations especially if you are trying to avoid a tummy tuck. You can start with infrared skin tightening & see what results you get. Or, take those funds and apply it to something more permanent.

  • This is wierd. 10 minutes worth of video but 2 second of before-after in photographs?

  • Dear Rejected, this is my 5th attempt at trying to post a reply to you (something wrong with YouTube). YouTube only alows a video to be 10 minutes in length. many people see before and after photos, but want to know what the actual procedure is like. That's why we shot the video. We have more before and after photos on our website. You can also see photos on the equipment manufacturers websites. While on our site click on "About Us", then click on "Site Links". Hope this helps.

  • Which is more effective the Zerona or the Vaser Lipo?

With Zerona will you see tightening of skin?

  • Vaser is a minimally invasive procedure that destroys fat cells. Fat is then removed by suction. This is different than what ZERONA does. ZERONA low-level laser is applied to your body externally & causes fat cells to leak, but doesn't destroy them (can fill up again). Your body eliminates the fat by naturally. Just like VASER isn't for everyone, neither is ZERONA. Patients have to (at least in our office), take supplements, drink 2L water/day, continue exercising & wear a compression garment.

  • how much is one session for abdomen only?

  • It varies across the U.S. and is dependent on the amount of fat that has to be removed, the diameter of the area (i.e., not extending into "love handle" region), and the consistency of the fat (soft and pliable versus cellulite). Another big factor is loose skin. With all that said, our starting point is $3500 and it can go either way depending on the factors I just mentioned. Wherever you live, you should go in for a consultation to know what your true estimate will be.

  • Yes. She had her abdomen treated first, then came back for her inner and outer thighs. Many patients do this.

  • why does she have little bandages on her belly? is that from when she got smartlipo before?
