Actually, I agree with GotenksJr - and about UK, too. Or China. If it'd be Russia, than most people would say that it's a rip off Metro 2033. I wish Bethesda would allow the ex-workers of Black Isle to team up and finish this game and publish it under the name Fallout:Van Buren. Or something like that. Because about 60-70% of the game has been done and I'd be more than happy to play it.
Although FO tends to focus on America I would like one that takes place in other parts of the world, we have a little less info on what Europes, Russias and China's etc current state is like, If they ventured out of the US I would guess China or The UK would be the likely locations (I say the UK because we both speak English)
i like these types of games, but fallout 3 by bethesda was, in my opinion, perfection. if i had to coose between this and bethesda's, i'd choose bethesda's.

The game had been in production for quite a while, and was canceled, due to Black Isle dying. If this game were to have stayed the course and black Isle theoretically still lived Fallout 3 that we know today would be Fallout 4 or 5 depending on what all Black Isle would be doing to keep producing Fallouts or if they had other projects, and F3 would hold much a much more stable background in connection to the others. No doubt Bethseda's F3 was great, but Van Buren was in heart the true cannon F3.

Man, I'd trade in the monotone and linear game we currently call Fallout 3 for this any day. (completed that is) The only thing they did right on the current one was the design, and even that they did just barely.

Ppl stop arguing. Comparing Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 with Fallout3 is like compare first trilogy of star Wars with the second trilogy. Both have place in the same reality but when the first one was a George's dream-made-real the second trilogy was made to complete the history and gain lots and lots of money thanks to the fans and other interested ppl. Fallout 1 and 2 where made in times that games gave players more to think and less to watch but now its reverse.
How can you make such a comparison? GTA III or IV are certainly better thant GTA 1, not because of its graphics, but because there were bigger and offered more possibilities... And that's because I think F3 is a good game, but can't hold a candle to F1 or F2: what about the totally non-linear story? The 4 or 5 means to solve each quest? The possibility to finish the game without killing anything? The possibilities of the character editor...?
For me GTA 1 is more like Wasteland (old game from 1987) because both were one of the first of their kind if not first. GTA 2 is more like Fallout 1 and 2 because of the graphics which are more advanced then in their predecessors.

I actually love Fallout 3, and I was a big fan of the original Fallout games. I don't see why everyone is so angry. Sure, Van Buren would've been tight, but Fallout 3 could be worse. Keep that in mind.
If there is no place for RPG games like Buldars Gate , Arcanum and the old Fallouts in the 21 century I prefere to play the 90 rpg's.Every thing in F3 was simplyfied, the navigation, the rpg sys (were are all the perks !where are the rest of the skills),the combat (the AI is sometimes worce than Doom 2 zombie at least they shoot back), the dialogs are like for a 5 yeard old and so on...My opinion,

Bethesda did a good thing by appealing to both FPS, 3PS, and RPG gamers. If you don't like it don't play it, I don't plan on buying fallout or fallout 2 because of their style but that doesn't mean I hate either one or feel like coming on youtube and flaming everyone that does like them.

First thing. Yes you are right Bethesda did a good thing by mixing view perspectives and systems (RPG-FPS) but this same thing you will find in many other games. With FPP or TPP is much easier to merge into the world inside the game than with isometric perspective. Second thing. On you tube you can say what you want. Peace bro.

Ppl stop arguing. Comparing Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 with Fallout3 is like compare first trilogy of star Wars with the second trilogy. Both have place in the same reality but when the first one was a George's dream-made-real the second trilogy was made to complete the history and gain lots and lots of money thanks to the fans and other interested ppl. Fallout 1 and 2 where made in times that games gave players more to think and less to watch but now its reverse.

How can you make such a comparison? GTA III or IV are certainly better thant GTA 1, not because of its graphics, but because there were bigger and offered more possibilities... And that's because I think F3 is a good game, but can't hold a candle to F1 or F2: what about the totally non-linear story? The 4 or 5 means to solve each quest? The possibility to finish the game without killing anything? The possibilities of the character editor...?

For me GTA 1 is more like Wasteland (old game from 1987) because both were one of the first of their kind if not first. GTA 2 is more like Fallout 1 and 2 because of the graphics which are more advanced then in their predecessors.

agreed... i prefer oblivion (or morrorwind, daggerfall etc) to fallout 1 and 2, or say diablo for example... which is why my preference would be fallout 3...
the older fallout games dont and havent held my interests - atall. theyre not too hard, and i do get them... the combat system and simply walking is annoying tedious imo, while fallout3 is easily in my top 3 alltime games. Just my preference, and those 'purists' should respect ours instead of being douches about their inferior prequils

If there is no place for RPG games like Buldars Gate , Arcanum and the old Fallouts in the 21 century I prefere to play the 90 rpg's.Every thing in F3 was simplyfied, the navigation, the rpg sys (were are all the perks !where are the rest of the skills),the combat (the AI is sometimes worce than Doom 2 zombie at least they shoot back), the dialogs are like for a 5 yeard old and so on...My opinion,

You can't really compare Fallout 1 & 2 to 3, to be honest. There totally diffrent game styles for one.
I think they did a good job on 3, it opened the other two games to a wider audience (Hell, alot of websites started to put 1 & 2 for direct download sale, and sold pretty wel)

i didnt get the chance to play either faloout or 2, but 3 i fell in love with, regardless of whether it is a true sequel or not, it cannot be denied that it is one of the best games of recent times. i remember when metroid prime was being made i wasnt happy since i loved super metroid i didnt want it to be 3D, but i was proved wrong it was a great game worthy of the name. the 1 &2 fans can be angrey but it could have been much worse, think sonic castlecania, megaman, etc. i will try fallout 2
