I venture to say that I've not heard a more ideal partnering of guitar & vocal; before or since these two. I was never a huge Trower fan but there are a few that stir my soul. Those days were so different. I was content lying on the floor memorizing words to all my favorite songs. looking at the pictures, daydreaming. Kids today don't know what there missing. Moved to Az. and no one was listening to what we listened to in Calif. I felt like such an oddball. Really I felt the kids in Az. were oddballs. KOME and KSJO were our stations up North. I think this may be the only song RT recorded using an acoustic guitar...just the gentle background rhythm. To me the song is a cross between Ravel's 'Bolero' and 'On Broadway' - the rhythm, the lyrics, and the constant upward key changes. I love how he makes the guitar squeal at the 3:57 mark!
