Has any one ever noticed this turk the jerk has 2, not just 1 but 2 engineers to run this video, why? Oh, oh, oh, I know, to make us stupid non-libs think it is a real show and not just some hating gut with a few sheets of plywood for a back drop. I think most people watch this turk the jerk because it is ridiculous.
With the exception of a couple jokes that fell flat, the movie was refreshing and quirky. The material was integrated into the adventure story well, and the characters where all terrific. This isn't be everyones cup of tea, but I recon, in a few years this film will share the same fate as FearandLoathing. Initially dismissed by critics who are disorientated from living in a media whirlwind, but picked up and enjoyed movie lovers who don't need to use a blockbuster as a point of reference
@noobpwner117 How so, weirdo who relpies to comments made 5 months ago, how so? It's just "your a retard? That's it? What? i loved the movie, hope they make more this kind of movies, i think nothing was exeggerated in the movie but i cant understand why a psycic would help an army..... :S a bit spiritual people knows that there is no enemy, we are all one, belong to one consciousness
I thought the man who stares at goats is a different type of movie, which is really refreshing. I don't wonna see all the time typical genre-movies. So I'm happy that you can't say after the first 5 minutes, ohh it's a comedy, or it's political or whatever. It's a good movie if you let yourself go and maybe be slightly stoned.
100% with you on this one, I think it's a refreshing laid-back movie with good jokes every now and then, doesn't commit to one genre, never pushes the concept too far and keeps it realistic as well as imaginative, and even though it never really goes anywhere,it's a nice journey that mixes well with some weed.
To me this movie is the perfect definition of a relaxed afternoon at home with your friends.
How could you not love when they just decide to drink the water with LSD to "blend in?" lol
@PollockQT, I actually liked it better than 2012, I think I saw them on the same day even. Is a High School version of Apocalipse Now. Minus the violence and greater drug trip of the later one. I liked how it touched on the issues of the Gulf War, the LSD induced ending is satirically beautiful, as McGregor's character helps free the Iraqui POWs being used as as subjects for the experiments. Oh, yeah him flying through the wall is priceless, I k=laughted so hard at at that scene.
I agree, 'the men who stare at goats' never really followed through on so many themes it touched upon, it wasn't awful, but it was by no means great either. It had potential and it did make me laugh at some points, but overall, I have to agree with what the verdict here, pretty much.
I keep forgetting the guys name on the left but I completely dislike him. He lacks a personality and is so... uptight about everything he talks about on this show.

psychic exist you dont think the government would not take a interest in someone who can read minds etc knowing they exist the government would recruit these people or try too even if it a long shot
McGregor was horribly miscast as he struggled with his "American" accent. Are American Hollywood actors so scarce that they need to have a Brti act as an American? Clooney was brilliant and Bridges was pretty good. No need to pay Spacey his kind of money for such a small part, unless he did it for scale, which I doubt. I liked the film. Made me laugh and was good to see an attempt at writing instead of just typing.
2012 was hella fun to watch, you just gotta shut ur brain off to enjoy it. I think "The Road" is gonna be a really, really, really good movie, from what I saw in the trailer, it has the potential to be a classic movie.
believable doesn't require scientific evidence if you HAVE said evidence then Belief is not required at all, but apparently there were these experiments and they did bring quantifiable results if you BELIEVE this to be true then one can accept it but i doubt anyone posting to this board has inside info from the CIA that did actually conduct these experiments and what there results were was there a statistically relevant results into these remote viewing experiments ornot no one knows either way
These reviews are good. Cenk just needs to find his 'voice', he sounded a little foolish using the fact that he watched some random YouTube video as his only evidence for an argument.
I've never bought Ewen MacGregor as an American in any movie in which he's played an American. Seems to me that very few Scottish actors can successfully do the American accent -- unlike, say, Australians and the English.
Army has always been in the forefront of craziness. If you want to look at stuff were you go "what the hell were they thinking?" then look at failed army experiments. lol
There is an anime movie out there that dose the same thing with Russia during WWII. 1/3 of the move was "real" Russian veterans and historians talk about a physic solder project, and people connected to it. 2/3 of it was animated story following their only remaining physic solder as she is hunted down by the SS and then travels to the world of the dead to gather her dead comrades to fight off a long dead enemy of Russia so that the Germans don't win a important battle.
This movie was highly entertaining. But it is definitely uncoventional and the humor is unusual. Which to me is a huge breath of fresh air in inbred Hollywood.
I love the subject the movie is about. I'm just reading the Shock Doctrine where they write about strange things the CIA did some years ago. Really funny..
Men Who Stare at Goats was probably a very good movie in the screenwriter's original form.
