  • what happened to the Aviators?

  • yeah element clothes! awesome =)

  • bush is a baby killer moslim hater

    bush sucks

  • But the goverments do not want energy to be free. Becouse they want people to pay up in taxes.

  • Something like energy is provided by private corporations, and in order to be able to supply it they have to make money to fund producing energy. The main problem is that the government is corrupt, and doesn't want to switch to alternative fuels because there is too much money in oil. To get anything done in the kind of society we have you need money.

  • our goverment isnt corrupt it is actually doing pretty good as i see it. mabey we produce the most crap like u said in the video but were also a world power and have a strong military and actually besides the electoral congress witch is ppl have almost no say in our next president we have a great goverment.

  • First of all, what does our military have anything to do with this? And us being a world power does not excuse us from being huge polluters. If we are the dominant power in the word, we should be setting the example to other countries by cutting way down on our carbon emissions, not using our status as an excuse. Also, the congress, executive, and judicial branches of our government are all corrupt. I'm not saying that everyone in our government is bad. But a hell of a lot of them are.

  • The heating up of the world is not caused by carbon. But by HAARP. The frequencies its sendin is heating up the north and south pole.

Aye and we are to blame aswell for making useless shit that turns into trash in a cupple of years or less after its bought.

Nuclear plants cause allso alot of pollution it doesent solve mutch. Scientists got the technology for free energy from diffrent sources and more enviroment friendly way. Nuclear reactor is leaking in france btw.

  • I don't know that much about HAARP, but messing with the ionosphere doesn't sounds like a good idea.

  • he got it from his father. george bush sr. said that athiests couldn't call themselves americans. ...bastard...

  • Nice work, man. You make good points, and you do so intelligently, so I'll be subscribing...right...now. Keep it up.

    maddcav

  • look at france?

they just put radioactive materials into their river.

Though I´m not totally against nuclear power, due to the lack of alternatives at the moment.

  • Nuclear is the way to go, yeah it's got issues, but look at France . . . .

By the way congrats on getting featured

  • Thanks

  • yell at China dude, and while your at it, SHUT UP!!!! Your so annoying!

  • We are a huge part of the blame too, so I'm going to talk about my country's faults, and not stick my head in another country's business when we have the same problem. And if I'm soooooo annoying why are you paying so much attention to me?

  • China is producing less per citizen but by what factor? Half as much per citizen? To bad they have 7x more citizens.

We already face dire straights on an economic front trying to compete in a global market without strangling our countries industry with more regulations.

Do we need to be better stewards of the planet?.....Yes. Is the global warming phenom everything Al Gore says it is not convinced.

  • We consume 30% of the resources with 5% of the population. America's life style just isn't sustainable. We don't have to consume as much as we do, but Americans become so angry about being told to change their life style that they refuse to listen.

And you can make serious environmental regulations with strangling the industry. You can build an industry around an alternative fuel. Have less coal plants making electricity, and create more solar plants.

  • St34k123 is my other youtube account. So yeah you are talking to me. Yayyyyy

  • China is still producing far less air pollution per citizen, then the US, or many other nations. And just because one nation is maybe caring less about the enviroment than yours, shouldn´t be a reason not to think about your own nations behavior. With this argumentation it would be possible to defend nearly any crime, because there is nearly always someone that has done worse.

  • Alright. I was teasing you about playing outside because it's obvious you spend a lot of time in front of the computer. Google "coal energy" and start reading. While you're correct that coal is a fossil fuel and "non-renewable" it doesn't create the same damage it used to and is essential to the U.S.'s energy needs. I'm hoping we can expand into more Natural Gas and Offshore drilling now that Bush removed the ban. It's in congress's hands now. On Bush we can agree to disagree. I'm out.

  • Ah. You're right actually, I do need to get out more.

And I did google coal energy. And I got a bunch of stuff that made me not want coal energy.

And I think that we need to move off of oil and fossil fuels for fuels that we have an unlimited supply of. And something that doesn't cause as much damage to the environment.

Anyway, have a great day. Thank you for the discussion.

  • Whether or not it creates "as much" damage is not as relevant as the non-renewable part of the equation. If we're ever to get better in terms of the environment and how we treat it, we are going to have to get off of fossil fuels. The only reason coal is essential to our energy needs is because we don't have another source. We haven't done enough to find alternate sources that are both renewable and not as malignant to our environment - like offshore drilling and natural gas still are.

  • Ripley, cool name. I love the Alien series. If you're Ripley I'll be "Bishop". (aka the bad guy) To be fair you didn't exactly criticize Republicans, but bashing our leader is almost the same thing. In a situation where someone is being critical of our leader... a leader I think who done a great job I have to stand up and show my support. I did notice how young you are and I give you credit for being so involved, but go play outside. Your facts on coal aren't accurate either. Cheers.

  • Thank you.

But, why should I go play outside? I like being involved so that's what I'm going to do. And our leader has not done a great job. That would explain why his approval ratings are in the 20-30% range.

And how are my facts about coal inaccurate?

    Cheers.

  • Oh and coal is the future of this country. We need to start building plants that turn coal into liquid fuel immediately. That technology has been around since Hitler and we're behind the rest of the world producing liquid coal energy. Coal is no longer the big, bad, wolf. Plus I'm just curious... in your last post you even admit that Bush had "faulty data" for his "Clean Skies" act. So why are you still blaming him? Doesn't exactly make sense now does it?

  • Coal is non renewable and is dirtier than petroleum. We need an alternative fuel that burns clean and IS renewable. And what I'm faulting Bush for with Clean Skies is he was allowing industries more control on how much they pollute, which is the last thing you want to do, considering that the people who was putting in control of their own pollution control are only concerned about profit. The reason we have regulations is so that they don't over-pollute.

  • Ripley, do you seriously believe only Republicans and "Pro-Bush" Representatives have the ear of the President in Congress? You don't think Democrat/Independant's give the President inaccurate information? No President is perfect.(Even a Democratic one!) Websites don't always tell the truth and some twist/edit data to make their points. Hey if you don't trust your government what's a new President going to do? This country is great and if you have a problem with congress vote em out.

  • I never said that democrats were perfect. In fact, I never made this a democrat versus republican argument. And I'm perfectly aware of websites distorting the truth. Your information could be faulty as well. And how did the greatness of our country come into this? We're arguing about the president and the environment. And if you hadn't noticed, I'm not old enough to vote just yet, so I'm doing what I can do at this time. Making my voice heard.

PS: Ripley is the main character from Alien. Not me.

  • You must be kidding if you think Bush doesn't care about the environment. One thing I would suggest you do is first look up on the internet George Bush Jr's personal home info. I think you'll find he blows Mr. Al Gore out of the water with what he does... just at his own home to protect the environment. Liberal/Democrat's want one thing, but let the Republicans do it for them. Why? So they can blame. We want offshore/domestic oil. Congress won't do it. Blame Bush right? That's weak.

  • I'm not saying that congress isn't to blame either. But has Bush actually done anything significant to protect the environment? Bush's "Clean Skies" act were based on faulty data and would allow industry more flexibility on how it met regulations. Court also had to block Bush's changes to the Clean Air act which would have allowed coal companies to pollute more. And what Bush says and what Bush does are two completely different things.

  • what would you like have him to do. There would only be one thing that he could do to help. have a law made to where no one is allowed to use gas engines. anything less than that is pretty much a waste of time.

To save the planet starts with us not the president. Not new laws. Not a new office to over see it. Not more tax money to payfor it.

  • He could suggest legislature for alternative fuels. Something. But doing nothing and then joking about our own wasteful ways without attempting to convince to do otherwise not only shows poor character, but is awful for foreign relations.

  • Yes he could, but think that's not being done today. Ned to watch alittle more CSPAN.

If conress isn't listening to everyone eles what makes you think they will listen to him.

now what would happen if a law was made that automakers had to make a car that got 100mpg? I'll tell you. Gas prices woud hit $50 a gallon and fast. The more miles you get, the less gas you buy. The less gas you buy, the less gas is made. That keeps the profits up and production down.

  • First, even if they don't listen to him, he can at least try to persuade them for the principle of it. To create a message that he is trying.

Second, what about alternative fuels? I know it would be expensive and extremely difficult, but do we have a choice? And even if it's not about its negative environmental effects, we need to switch because oil isn't going to last forever.

  • Maybe I read into it in the wrong way. I kind of retarded when I write on the fly.

  • Excellent video and comment. Keep them coming!

  • Thanks! I intend to.

  • So, where in my last statment did I ever say that your words are untrue? I'm just pointing out that Bush is only repeating the actions of his father to line his own pockets. That people like Mr Bush Jr have been doing so for years and that no one including yourself have taken notice or done anything to combat it. AGAIN! Why is it a suprise to you when a person like Bush who profits from pollution would speak of this important meeting in such jest as he did? Dah!you think.

  • who cares

  • Nice to see that you are such an involved and compassionate citizen!

  • you should. hello,

what are you gonna do when all the worlds resourses collapse from people like the dumbest president in the whole world who decide to use as many as they can. hmm sounds like you want the world to end.

    Thumbs up harrison,

    great job.

  • the comment from skozzy12 was a response to bloodybeetroots comment. it just didnt show up in the right spot. =].

u rock! greattt jobbbb. though i do agree with stripes08marie, you should talk a bit slower =]

    but whatever! it's still awesome!

  • Thank you both!

  • I totally aggree even if Im not an American. Just talk a little slower.

  • Haha yeah after I uploaded it, I thought that it might be hard to understand me at times.

  • What can I say he is the son of bush sr...You know, the person that started the first war with Iraq. Doesn't anybody realize that our president profits from fossil fuels being used ,especially OIL. Most of our government has their hand in it. That why we need people outside the loop to lead this country, otherwise I hope your immune to toxic air and water. Oh, and the your don't miss plants or animals or don't like eating.

  • Thank you. I keep telling people that but they refuse to believe me.

  • you should do an episode with your glasses upside down and talk backwards for the entire episode and play the intro song in reverse

  • Wow. That sounds like a lot of work but totally worth it.

  • yup! cant wait for BUSH to get the hell out of office! HE'S A JOKE!

  • Agreed.

  • He's like a junior sexyphil.

  • Well I like sxephil so I will take that as a compliment! Thank you!

  • oh shit he is, he's sxephil! lol

  • what priority would you give climate change as an issue in global politcs. cause honestly its not in my top 5. i think the whole thing only stands to segregate us from the developing world. if you really wanna plug this issue you have to focus on efficiency people are not active unless there consumption is altered. it is sad but true. cars can run on water now man !! later

  • I think it is an important issue, but I agree, at least I think that you're saying, that people aren't motivated to change their ways.

Cars can run on hydrogen, but each car would cost around a million dollars.

  • Yeah I agree with myself. That being imij11

  • Well I live in Australia and climate change continues to be a growing issue of importance in relation to federal politics. Especially amongst young people and the less conservative who are concerned for the environment and possible negative impacts on future generations caused by climatic change. Certainly in the recent election it was a very important issue.

  • The focus is on climate change because they want to take the spotlight off starving human beings.

  • No the focus on preventing man made climate change is protecting our home.

  • Can't save the environment if people are starving to death and don't have the strength to fight for change.

  • Good, no I don't think you are overly sensitive. It was completely absurd of him to say that in front of our international colleauges! How embarrasing! By the way you should do more vids with no glasses!

  • Haha I plan to. It's a bit easier without them.
