Note that all the clips inserted into the titles, to replace the bits where Michelangelo wields nunchaku, come from "The Incredible Shrinking Turtles", the second episode of Season 2 (and thus the second episode broadcast in the UK)! Also, I'm pretty sure this started on UK TV in 1989, because when I went to Florida in 1990 I was finally able to see the show unedited!

On one of the very first episodes, didn't Ed The Duck and the host of whatever BBC show was on in the afternoon sing "Hero" over the titles?

Here in the Netherlands it was also 'Hero' instead of 'Ninja'. In Europe we have different rules about these kinds of things and the word 'ninja' was too violent back then. Nowadays it sounds more harmless, so they kept 'ninja' in the 2003-show...

yea im from the uk and the 03 version was called teanage mutant ninja turtles. apparently this version was cencored i dont know i dont watch this

this is the opening i remember as a kid, with the hero thing instead of ninja. Sometimes us brits are a bit pathetic. Shredder rules :-)

the changed parts stick out like a sore thumb. EXAMPLE: "splinter taught them to be FIGHTING teens" in which it should be ninja.
