Being a southerner I love how he gets it, the southern culture. Love his respect for it.

The part of the movie that reached me the most was that my generation for the most part doesn't listen to the older generation. The son in this film just didn't get it., he didn't take the time to listen because of his pride, education and anger. I pray that when the time comes I will listen to the my parents and see from their POV what they need, not what I think they need.

I think he is right about the distractions in these modern times and I admit that my generation in particular is way too preoccupied by technology and it does take time away from listening to the older folks
