  • @Dmanbyrd

    Enjoy the trip :)

  • Top!

  • backcombing and crochet are sooooooo bad for your head n scalp.. want dreads? stop combing and keep your hair clean.. DREADLOCKSSITE(dot)COM

  • @SultanOfTheOrient

Only if you do not do it right. Who says he does not keep his hair clean? Clean hair is important. A greasy mess won't lock.

  • Those r sick dreads,,I want em..bad.

  • Type in Macee singing who says and watch the video it's the blond girl singing

Watch this video once or more and then FWD this to 5 friends and 3 YouTube videos if u don't have a YouTube account then you haft to FWD it to 7 friends if u don't do this u will get bad luck for 83 days

  • Hello, I'm suppose to get dreads tomorrow, my hair is 4 inches long and its straight....is that to short? I was wondering what method you used and how you made it to where it was so sclose to the scalp with not very many lose hairs. Thanks!!!

  • @crgonzalez90

Depends on your hair structure. For straight, hard to dread hair we first use a lock accelator treatment, backcoming and crocheting.

  • @MagicStyleAtelier Well i ended up backcoming and crocheting, unfortunately i didnt like the way they came out, so i spent hours taking them out. The lady who did them was not very skilled, as i assumed. I wish i could go to your salon and get them done :)

  • @crgonzalez90

Awwwww, I am sorry. Glad you could save your hair. It is always best to ask the salon for reference customers or of you can watch a bit while they dread another person's hair.

  • @customxman

Yeah, that is about right. You can see his hair at the beginning of the video

  • Hey how long was his hair like 8 inches ? his locks are sickkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • His dreads will be AWESOME in a few more years!

  • tell your little boy I want my beginning dreadlocks exactly like his lol. How long was his hair before getting them and how long after?

  • @RBCTommies

Oh, Luca loves fans like you :). You can see his hair at the beginning of the video! Just view it one more time ;)

  • his dreads r so sick!!!!! =D best dreads ive seen in a while

  • @jrbandillneverswitch

Thank you! Luca loves to hear comments like that :)

  • @MagicStyleAtelier haha i bet makes him feel awesome...... cuz he is!!!!!

  • @jrbandillneverswitch

He loves his dreadies! And can't stop talking about them :)

  • Luca is super cute <3 and i love his dreads!

  • @XZombieBallerinaX

    Luca says "thank you! :).

  • I have straight thick hair can i get dreads?

  • @TheEvergreenBLK

It is possible. But you need to find somebody who has experience with your type of hair. We would backcomb, crochet and palm roll it. It takes a very long time.

  • He is so cute

  • @Longhairstile

Yes, he melts the girls just like that :)

  • does getting them locked hurt

  • @DUBVMr304

Depends on how skilled and patient your toctician is. Luca is only 5 and he survived his 8 hour locking session ok. The next day he complained that his scalp was a bit tender. That was about it....

  • he's so cute!

  • @Keallei

Thanks :) Yes, he is! All the girls, big and small, are in love with him ;)

  • how long was his hair when he got it locked?

  • @olliedcharms5

About 10 cm ( 2 inches). You can see his unlocked hair at the beginning of the video.

  • @MagicStyleAtelier ten centimetres is equal to four inches.

  • Along with the whole natural vs. paid for, I think that for a 5 year old salon dreads are better because if you can understand dreads as a 5 year old you still probably don't quite understand something that doesn't have instate gratification. I am at 18 months with my neglect dreads and they don't go very fast at all.

  • @backanchorabstrakt

Yeah, that is a good argument. Also, a kid does not care much about the discussion about natural vs not natural. Plus you can't let a kid run around with super untidy hair, people would think you do not only neglect the hair but the kid, too ;)

  • natural still look better, no exeptions

  • So ugly! Why didnt yall let his hair dread NATURALY!!!

  • @chp1593

He has very fine, straight hair. It would only mat if you do not help it along. Then it truly would look ugly ;).

  • @MagicStyleAtelier How could NATURAL ever look ugly?!?!?!? Ive seen people with super fine straight hair that let there hair dread NATURALY and they have awesome dreads. He's dreads look so tight and stiff, dreads should be fluffly and soft. It looks like you backcomed his hair, crochet it, and maybe even used wax, which is the worst thing for dreads. Just combed it out and let it dread NATURALY, they would look SOO much better.

  • @chp1593

I guess we just have different oponions. But no matter, Luca looooves his locks and that is all that counts, right?

  • Comment removed

  • @chp1593

Hey, no problem :). Thanks for watching and commenting.

  • @cliffin22

Das ist doch kein Problem :). Jeder kann sich mal vertippen :)

  • OMG! How adorable! Luca U Rock Dude! I also applaud his parents for letting him express himself. What a Great Gift for him now and the man he will become- BRAVO!!!

  • @TazzLPN

Oh wow, what a nice comment! I will let Luca and his Mom know what you've said. They both don't speak much English ;). I will translate for them...

  • Nice, check out dreadcap.com

  • WOW, I had to do mine over the span of four days they hurt so bad (Imma wimp) Tell im' he gets mad respect , One Love little Brotha

  • @bwjn2008

Hey, it takes a lot longer if you do them yourself. We had 2 experts working on Luca. But it still took 8 hours. However, he was a champ! We were ready to split the work up onto two days because we thought it would be too long for him but he wanted his dreads asap :)

  • @MagicStyleAtelier I could've done mine in one sitting, if I could handle all the hurt :P I couldn't

  • @bwjn2008

Well, it can be done pretty much painlessly...too late for you, though ;). Enjoy your dreads! :)

  • omg.. what a cutie..

  • @hrlattanze

Thanks! Luca loves to hear that!

  • That kid rules. My son is 4 and i'd love to dread his hair but when i ask him does he want hair like daddys he just laughs and says that my hair is silly. Gonna keep trying though.

  • @skitherbird1984

Your son sounds so cute :). Hint: They usually don't want to look like Daddy, but like some cool star on TV ;).

  • Supercute, wish my son had the patience. Maybe soon, he's almost 3 years old now.

  • @11ling

Luca surpsired us all. He wanted those dreads so much, that he sat for full 8 hours. We were prepared to do it in two days. Does your son want dreads? You could distribute the work over several days you know. Thanks for your nice comment :)

  • erinnert an den sänger von rage against the machine! cool!

  • @picball39

    LOL! :) Thank you, man.

  • @cookiemoan11

:) Yes, he is quite a special kid all right...thanks for you comment!

  • Wow! Nice dreadlocks kid!

I was wondering about the process and tools you used on his hair?!

    Thanks! :)

  • @henrynguyen

Hey thanks! Well, Lukas has straight hair, which means his dreads are a bit harder to maintain. Check out Luca's video "Luca's Locks @ 2 months: Hot rods and cool locks". He explains there how his dreads were made and maintained.

  • Such a cutie... Locs good on him.

  • @xonitv

Hey, thank you! Please also watch Luca's follow up videos...they are even cuter I think :)

    /C2E41DBCF6830B7D

  • @MagicStyleAtelier I could not find the most recent video of Luca or is it the one where he speaks? He and his mother are obviously happy with your work so well done.

  • @DollyMat

I did sent you the link to the playlist for the videos in an message. Did you get it? Thanks for your comment on our profile. By the way, I did not take your comment negative at all :).

  • This dude is my hero

  • @JusChillin979

:) I will make sure that Luca's Mom will read your message to him. I am sure he will be thrilled! We post a new video of Luca's Dread every month, the next one is due this weekend, so please stay tuned :).

    :)

  • @Dreadi1975

:) Thank you - Luca loves to get all those compliments.

  • hope he keeps em for long time, they look good, you did a great job

  • @thedaytripper3330

Thank you! Well, i video 2 (Luca's 53 Locks: 1 week later...), Luca asked his Mom how long he can keep his dreads. When she answered: "As long as you like", he responded: Forever! So, let's see how long forever will be :). We will keep posting updated about Lucas locks.

  • awh, he is so adorable! his dreds fit his face wonderfully ; btw what race is he?

  • @slynslick

Hey, thank you! Luca will love your comment. He is caucasian. I just uploaded a new video of him which shows his dreads at 1 month old. It is really super cute, Luca talking about his dreads in that vid. Please check it out. It is called: Luca's 53 Locks: Luca (5) speaks out on YouTube :)

  • Ah! that kid is so adorable, I wish my little girl could get dreads like me. Nice vid, I would have to show my daughter.

  • @luciano9009

How old is she? I see no reason why she cannot have locks, if she wants them. We have two more videos about Luca:

    Luca's Locks: 1 week later

    and (just uploaded)

Luca's 53 Locks: Luca (5) speaks out on YouTube :)

Good luck with your daughter's locks :)

  • She's 8 years old, and has a relaxer in her hair, I want her to be natural.

    Keep up the good vids.

  • @luciano9009

I think it would be great to get away from the relaxer. Too many black kids think their hair is not pretty. But that is so wrong. There are so many nice things you can do from braids, rows and twists to locks. And even a big old afro looks great :). We are located in Germany and therefore most of our customers are caucasians, but you would not guess how many of them ask if we can make them a 'fro! They really admire black people's hair :).

  • @luciano9009

Please show your daughter another one of our videos:

    Little Miss Cute Deadlocks

It shows a little black girl with wonderful natural hair that also got dreadlocks in our salon. She looks soooooo cute!

Let me know if you could convincer her :)

  • He looks great! Good job.

  • Thank you :) Luca will be happy to hear that. Please also watch Part 2: "Luca's 53 Dread Locks: One week later... ". His dreadlocks are in the meanwhile 1 month old and we will post a new video about them this weekend.

  • i have a question, i have the same hair type like this little boy... how short dreadlocks can i have... how long must my hair be???

  • Hi Barryman,

Ideally your hair should be at least 10 cm long (4 inches). We usually add a bit of synthetic hair for more volume and length if your hair is very short. Luca has some synthetic hair added as well. Your hair will look shorter when dreaded, if no synthetic hair is added. The thicker the dreads, the more it will optically shorten your hair.

  • kid looks great! good job! dreads to the people!!!!

  • @ThePiusFamily

    Thank you guys :)

  • Wow these look awesome and it is your choice and his choice....styles come and go and as look as he is happy... Europe is so much more able to accept diversity than we do..how strange from the land of the melting pot we should do better to accept others choices.....

  • @msdwilliams57

Thank you :). I believe dreads are viewed a bit differently in Germany than in the US. I don't think Germany is more accepting, it is just that every country has a different set of prejustice so to speak.. E. g. african american hair styles are more accepted for young people. If a 50 year old white woman wants braids, she has to steel herself for comments like: Aren't you to old for that??? It's ok so for a 15 year old white girl though.

  • @MagicStyleAtelier Well, we are global world, but so many people get stuck in the very very small world that still exists in their heads.

  • I LOVE his hair. He is so cute. GOOD CHOICE!!

  • @itpaystobeme

Thank you! Luca loves it when people admire his hair :). Can you rate the vid, please if you have not done so yet? Thx :)

  • Klasse! Weiter so Luca!!! Jeder darf auf seinem Köpfchen tragen was ihm Spaß macht.

  • @luzerns

  • Hi Fabulouslou,

Thanks for your comment, but please read the explaination of the vid. It was Luca who was raising hell for months so he could have locks. It is not a "mess" and he does not have to shave his head if he ever changes his mind. You just let the locks grow out a bit and then cut off the locked part. It is just hair and the important thing is that the boy is happy. And so far it looks like he is very happy.

  • @MagicStyleAtelier alright. and if he wants a pierced nose he can have it because it's just a piercing and you can take it out someday?! whatever makes the boy happy?! every other style like cornrows or braids would have been totally ok. but locks? still he's 5. what kind of parents are you guys?!

  • @fabulouslou

There is a big difference between a hair style and a piercing. The latter is an invasive procedure which can hurt, can get infected, can leave a scar/hole. A friend of mine had her baby girl's (under a year old) ears pierced just because she is a girl, not because she wanted it. I would see that as a problem.

  • natural dreads are the way to go. They look good but into a year or two they will be weak and break.

  • @jacobmiller08

Thanks for your comment :). It always depends on how you lock the hair. We do not use dread perms, sharp needles or other methods that weaken the dreadlocks/hair. Also we have a number of customers who come to us year after year for maintenance and their dreads are really long in the meanwhile without breakage. I tell you though, there are people out there who take dangerous shortcuts and in fact ruin the dreads that way.

  • GREAT !!! WOW !!! Luca is a very very nice boy with dreads !!! He had been a lot of fun about his dreading, fantastic. His Dreads looks very GOOD !!! Keep it up !

    :-)

  • @Dreadi4fun

Thank you, Dreadi4fun. Luca is still so proud of his dreads! He insists to accompany his Mom to every store, so he can show them off :).

  • Luka sure is cute. I think his dreads look GREAT!!! He's gonna break some hearts. :-)

  • @grrromit

Thanks! He already got mine for sure ;)

  • they should look better then that yall are suposed to be profectionals they sticking out way too much and they too umm how can i explain it looks like something a person with no experience did yall do great work but this one not so good

  • y they sticking out?

  • @Peachis911

They are brand new, nicely tight and have not been washed yet. As soon as Luca washes them, they will lie down flat. It is actually a good sign if they stick out like this at first. It means they are well locked from the tips down to the roots.

I have to admit I like "antenna" look ;). It looks so cute on him.

  • @MagicStyleAtelier lol antanna look roflmfao

  • @Peachis911

:) His Mom swears he has a very good radio signal reception ;)

After his dreads are a bit more mature, I will try to get another vid uploaded, so you can see how they develop.

  • @MagicStyleAtelier is he hispanic?

  • @Peachis911

No, caucasian. He is German to be more precise. We are located in Germanz. Watch the beginning of the vid again. He has straight, rather fine light brown hair hair.
