Have 1 in the same colour, hasnt been out of a barn fo 10 years. But it still started after i pulled it out. Also, put in reverse and turn the wheels as much as you can, then just drive in circles

Didn't Saab also experiment with Truimph engines ?

There wasn't much with their own old 2 strokes. In fact they were brilliant, but at the end of the 60-s costumers didn't want 2 stroke engines anymore.

However Saab gave their 2 strokes a second lease of life in their legendary Sonnet series. Best light sports cars ever build.

These Ford V4-s sounded a bit ''rough'' in low revs, but were/are sturdy little buggers.

Yes a Triumph slant 4 engine was used in a Saab 99,the Triumph Stag V8 engine was basically 2 of these stuck together

That was allready a notorious fail to begin with.

No wonder Saab switched to Ford Germany.

They didn't switch from Triumph to Ford.

The 99 started out with the Triumph slant 4 before their own "B engine" was ready.

The 92/93/96 started out with a saab two-stroke and ended up with a Ford V4, I'm guessing because the engine bay was too cramped for an i4.

Looks and sounds a lot like a Ford V 4 engine, situated under the hood the other way around.

It is a German Ford Taunus V4 but it is not transverse,it is in line driving the front wheels

Its good, litte rust here and there, it is in sweden, but lucky as i'am its not in the north :) so it will rust by the snow

Cars are usually bether in the north of sweden, we havent been throwing around salt till a year back or so. In south sweden theres tons of salt

Good luck, cars in the UK rust very badly,had to do a lot of welding,hope yours is ok.
