hey guys i have a 2005 honda accord v6 lx and thinking about getting a cold air intake and i was wondering if i should get the short ram or the regular cold air intake? what's a really good site to get them? PS. this will be my first thing i am doing to my car
personally the cold air intake is my first and only choice, because the power and of corse the cold air is dense which means more air to the engine, hot not as dense, less air intake so i guess what ever floats your boat, oh and thank you for bringing up the ricer part.
if you get a CAI, keep in mind that you run a greater risk of hydro-lock, because the filter itself extends down to the bottom of the engine bay. I think you can get away with the filter getting a little wet, but if water soaks the filter then your engine will lock up.. But from what I understand, AEM makes a bypass to prevent this from happening if thats one of your main concerns
I found out that a car with a short ram will sound better when its under load, just revving in neutral isnt much of a demonstration for loudness, if you can get a video of you car accelerating down a street, either from outside the car, or inside, more likely to hear better from outside though
too bad it's an accord. you need to get a power programmer and headers and exhaust, otherwise the intake actually can lower hp because your air/fuel ratio isn't tuned to dump more fuel in to match the new amount of intake. Go back to stock if you want performance, stay with the cai if you want sound, but going for the latter would be rice
as of right now the intake it does improve over stock, the K24 totally different from the old Accord. From a 2.4 i will upgrade to 2.6 with new piston and many other mods. Hondata will be great to change air to fuel ratio and top rpm.
um, get exhaust too, hell for sound, you need intake, but the biggest difference for sound comes from exhaust, and get a performance muffler, there cheap
Having colder air to get in the intake its better, because colder air means more oxygen molecules to get in to the combustion chamber" making a a better emnn combustion? lol so thats why its better to have a cold air intake ;)
cold air uses cold air the fact its being closer to the ground and short ram just sucks up the air around yoru engine bay= hot air..but honestly its nothin diff and i would assume the short ram can get more air in faster since the cai is longer..my cai isnt that long but still

is depend on some car also, for example AEM made short ram for TSX only becuase it produce more power then cold air.

You do not need to buy anything else beside air intake, the air intake the one providing sound and performance.
