This isnt actually a "baby" belly. At 12 weeks, it would only be a couple inches long..so its still way down in the pelvis, about where the waistband is...

thats not true everyone carries differently, @ 12 weeks the the uterus is the size of a grapefruit that completely fills the pelvis and rises up into the abdominal cavity. So try not to make succh a general statement!

@melia83 What I meant was..that where it is most bulging, at around the belly button, this is not where the baby is. The abdominal cavity isn't filled that high that early on. The expanding uterus may have pushed other stuff up, but that is not where the actual baby is.

why not? the belly is growing different on every woman! some you cant see anything even they are in the 6th months, and some have a big belly already form week 9! its different from woman to woman :-)

I think the size of your belly has to do with the body mass you have. When I had my first child, I didn't show a bump until I was five months but now my belly is bigger than hers. It's bloated. I'm on my third child.

i am 12 weeks with my second and people say i am big to be only 12 weeks and i don't know i think it's because of how your stomach was before the second baby....cause with my first i wasn't as big as i am now with my second so yeah

haha that is funny cuz i am either 11 or 12 weeks now and am HUGE. my docter thinks I am father along then they though in the first place. I am on my second child also and am the size that i was wheni was 4 and a half to 5 months pregant with my daughter. i also showed very early with my daughter. i was only 115 when I got pregant with her and gained a lot of weight with her.

Is this your first baby?...mostly new moms stay neat and small first time round,the muscles are that bit tighter, I'm on my third pregnancy and popped out very fast this time. Sometimes if you retain fluid when not pregnant, it can go into overdrive when you are pregnant. Thats me lol !

i'm 12 weeks and have a bump like yours. I thought it must be bloating or something cause everything i read online says it is unusual to have a belly at 12 weeks in a first pregnancy. I am also in shape, size 10. Glad to see i'm not the only one!

I'm so glad someone else besides me is 12 weeks with a belly! I've always been pretty thin and had a flat stomach, and now my belly looks like yours! I can tell you're in shape as well, I wonder if that's why we're showing so soon? I had to buy maternity jeans yesterday and the girls at the shop said they'd never seen someone with a belly like mine at 3 months lol!
