these guys are not a bluegrass "jam" band. these dudes are straight bluegrass. they have more of an idea of tradition than most jam bands who play bluegrass. they just happen to be pushing the boundaries.....way out there! these guys are the shit!

@patanddex Absolutely right. This reminds me of a conversation I had with Andy Hall 7 or 8 years ago about what made a bluegrass "jam" band. He described it this way: "well you play softly for a while. Then you play loudly. And then you play softly again. And you do that for a while, while everybody sort of plays at the same time".
