  • Mr. Zimmerman, I can remember the rule and work it but how do they derive this rule is something I didn't understand. I don't know if I have learning disability or did I miss something you said?   • On your problem 7-10 why would you need to change the 10 to a negative if the question you were answering didnt already make it a negative?

  • hi, the procedure is to turn subtraction problems into addition problems. so if you know how to add positive and negative numbers then you should understand. I would focus on adding positive and negative numbers first. Then when you do subtraction problems turn them into addition problems.

  • on the problem 7 - 10 u said turn the - into a + so it turns into 7+ -10 but instead of adding u still did subtraction..... my question is how and why?
