  • I wasnt trying to plug any particular product. All i was saying is that i sharpen maybe 10 knives a year and i just cant get the results i want consistantly with a traditional stone by hand. Not trying to spam the video, i think youve missed my point.

  • Excellent videos, and I love the challenge of learning to sharpen with just a stone and my knife. I really appreciate you mentioning to only work on small sections of the blade with each stroke. I've always tried to get the whole blade with each stroke. You make a lot of sense, THANKS!

  • That's a fantastic and traditional way to sharpen a knife. I have great respect for you and your craft. But let's be realistic for a second, how many of us know what a 15 degree angle looks like, or even how to replicate the same angle on both sides of the blade? I certainly don't and I've wrecked several knives in the process. I purchased a device that sets the angle (17, 20, 25, 30 deg) and guides the hand in the same motion for every stroke. I will never go back to the old guessing game.

  • @JB101inc That's fair, but basic geometry dictates that most people DO have an idea after looking at a diagram or pulling out a protractor. Nice try, self-spammer.

  • wow, what knowledge.
