  • So basically you've spent all this money and you can't make a film for shit.

  • @gl4n I havn't uploaded any BTS of our short films yet :P and yes, I have the money for such an equipment ;)

  • sounds pretty good, thanks, hey I like your rig that you mounted it on, what is it ? thanks again.

  • @musicforindies I would make more audio tests but one time I'm busy with school, another time it's rainy outside and next time I'm on a movie set of an uppoming 90min movie (will be released at the end of 2012.. we hope xD)..

I checked the link and.. it's not working anymore :( I got the flash bracket from enjoyyourcamera(.)com. Search for "flash bracket double angle" because I don't know where you can get one of these :/ it was really cheap ~ 25€ :)

  • How did you get the rode Mic to get on your camcorder?

  • @IBTCmusic the cold shoe which sits on the adapter you can slip into the right side of the cam ? It was included in the TM700 box :)

  • haha kinda sound like one of the weird aliens on dude, wheres my car

  • Go outside, near a road or something, retard.

  • @HornSpeakersSuk why cars ? I could upload some dialogs ;) or guitar samples.. or whatever xD

  • @LehnerHD 4 stereo - duh

  • @HornSpeakersSuk It's only mono -> shotgun characteristics :P the Tascam Dr-05 is for stereo but I think I know what you mean with stereo ;)

  • @LehnerHD What a piece of KRAP then. Paying EXTRA $ 4 a MONO camera mic? N Ow that's just INSANE! =)) A $50 Sanyo Xacti VPC-CG10 has GR8 video quality & mono (tho they lie & scam & fraud pretending it's stereo) mic setup that sounds very good except 4 the mono-ness =D

  • I would like to get this mic, but the thing is just as big as the camera!

  • @roblox84 but it's worth the price ;)

  • Well, if Swarschnegger says so!

  • @98gammler enjoyyourcamera(.)com, thomann(.)de, redcoon(.)at ;)

  • @LehnerHD ok danke :D

  • @SKarsteinX I'm not familiar with DSLR's and I don't like them (yet) but the future camcorders are a mix of both...

I want good zoom- and focus-control, optical image stabilisation and a case that you can carry like a broadcast camera :P before I forget, good low light ;)

  • @Superfly7111994 yep, that's the adapter ;)

  • at 2:15 whats the thing youve used to change the tilt of the hotshoe by 90 degrees, so it points upwards instead of out to the side?

  • @Superfly7111994 actually, scrap that. im a dickhead, its in the camera's original box hahha

  • Do you have any experience with recording live music (with this mic)? If so, please share it with us!

  • @Squeller5 I filmed two times in a church with lot's of reverb :/ A few days ago I got my Tascam DR-05 and it performs incredible well ;) The internal audio circuit of the TM700 isn't as good as the Tascam one. I also bought it because if you want to change the audio level while recording, it's on the one hand impossible (no menu access) and on the other hand if you stop the recording, you have to go into the 5th submenu to change the level and this is a big disadvantage of the TM700...

  • @LehnerHD Thanks LehnerHD. I already bought the Rode Videomic PRO, hoping it would improve the sound quality significantly. It does improves the sound quality, but not as much as I hoped to be.

It's disappointing to read about the poor internal audio circuit of external mic input - it means I do not benefit as much as possible.. Anyway, do you notice a really significant difference in sound quality between the TM700 and the Tascam? (then I'll buying a Tascam as well!)

  • @Squeller5 The main and first reason of my purchase was that I wanted a shotgun mic and more manual control (+20dB is too loud even if you set the input level to -30dB on the TM700). I'll upload an audiotest when I have time [my last exams are at Friday for this year ;)]

I recommend the Tascam if you want a manual controlled audio level without stopping the record (useless TM700 menu -.-) and if you aren't happy with the quality (test the VMP when you get it and make your own decision).

  • @Squeller5 Sry, I thought you havn't tested it yet, I read your post too fast :P I'll upload the test of the Tascam + VMP soon (weekend, beginning of the next week) that you can hear the difference [256kbit .mp3 TM700 vs 24bit/96kHz .wav Tascam, I think it's better on vimeo than on YouTube due to the compression].

  • at 1:30 what is that long thing coming out of the camera called?

  • @ZackTheBeast99 it's a Rotating Grip Flash or video bracket ;)

  • ''ILL BE BACK!'' xD

  • @spanner1995 btw I'm from Lower Austria :P

  • do you recommend this microphone?

  • @FrederikMeyer Yes, it's a really good mic and has a nice +20dB amplifier ;)

I'm still waiting for the windmuff which should come in the next few days :/

Then I'll make a longer product overview with an outdoor video and several test conditions.

  • Thanks, I would like to know how the windscreen works but I suppose it works as good as any other.

  • @countryfarmmovies I'll make an outdoor-test when I receive the deadcat ;) It works like every other windmuff but I havn't heard any sound-samples with the DeadCat VMP.

  • Did you get a deadcat windscreen with the mic? I was wondering if it is easy to register to get the windmuff.

  • @countryfarmmovies I got the rode without the deatcat but registered it 1 day after purchase... I think Rode is shipping it currently :/ Im waiting for it since 02/02/2011 ;)

  • @LehnerHD what do you mean by registering? Does the windscreen come free when you register the product after purchasing it?

also, if you received the deadcat, could you comment whether you can see it in the wide angle shot if the Rode is mounted directly on the camera and not on the bracket?

third and last: are you happy with the bracket? I am looking to get one, to also add LED light on my TM700

  • @itekguc When you buy the mic, you can register it on the official Rode homepage to get 10 years warranty and a free deadcat. My deadcat should come in the next 2 weeks if there are no shipping problems.

I'll make a video when i receive it to show everyone if it's visible in the frame or not.

I'm very happy with the bracket ;) When i got the cam, I thought my shots are stable until I received the nice bracket which stabilizes it much better :) it also feels more comfortable in your hands

  • @LehnerHD Thanks a bunch. is the bracket this one?

if not, do you mind suggesting where I can get yours?

  • sorry, somehow the link does not work. It's on amazon a Rotating Grip Flash Rotating holder Bracket made by BV&jo. looks very much like what you are holding in the video, but the amazon reviewer says it's fragile plastic on the screws, so could not be sure whether to trust the BV&jo one.

  • @itekguc I wanted to comment on your last post but it wasn't possible due to an error :P

The amazon reviewer wrote the truth but it's not a problem for me. The plastic part is very stable and thick. The rest of the construction is metal ;)

I can really recommend this bracket to everyone who hates all those little cameras which aren't designed for a steady shot :)

  • @KillmanAUSTRIA I have 2 channels and commented with my other account name ;)
