There's a difference between 'influence' and 'biting' subtraktion, all the artists you named obviously listened to other artists and were influenced by them, from that they develop their own style with some characteristics of someone elses, that's how being influenced works, them artists you named their STYLES were influenced by the STYLES of others, but BITING lyrics is when you put out the same lyrics as someone else, but you're right jay-z isn't doing much of that

First line of Method Man quotes Get Off My Cloud by the Stones. T La Rock said, "it's yours," waaay before Wu. In The Bridge Is Over KRS "sings" a few lines to the same tune of Billy Joel's It's Still Rock and Roll to Me. My point was just that lots of rappers do that almost as an homage to the original artist, which isn't biting.
