They left for Europe in 1914 and where gone 40 years taking to 1954. Please note the cars are of a late 1950s vintage [or earlier] proving 1950s time frame. At the end of movie they mention that they where in there 90s. Lets say 95 years old for the sake of speculation. This would have them dying in about 1980s, 25 yrs later. The boy being about 13 makes him 38 when his uncles passed. The Sheriffs car, at the end, where of that vintage. Placing the boys age at 38 the man looked about that age.
