I think it's okay to play campaign videos as part of the overall debate experience; gives people some idea of the Republican candidates. But, I believe the debates themselves are kind of a silly way to determine what people think. A candidate could do poorly at 20-second sound bites, but have a great record of accomplishment. Thus, a combination of CNN's authoritarian craziness and the debates themselves gives us . . mostly crap, little useful info for American voters.
The questions selected for the debate last night were boring and lame! The first debate was much better. I guess they decided to go with Romney's version of dignified, rather than an attempt to really put the candidates to the test.

The very worst part of these debates is that the audience is heavily populated by "front-runner" ticketed attendees. And let me guess, the smattering of Ron Paul tickets are in the balcony!

I think it's okay to play campaign videos as part of the overall debate experience; gives people some idea of the Republican candidates. But, I believe the debates themselves are kind of a silly way to determine what people think. A candidate could do poorly at 20-second sound bites, but have a great record of accomplishment. Thus, a combination of CNN's authoritarian craziness and the debates themselves gives us . . mostly crap, little useful info for American voters.

The questions selected for the debate last night were boring and lame! The first debate was much better. I guess they decided to go with Romney's version of dignified, rather than an attempt to really put the candidates to the test.

Look at the questions they asked Ron Paul, what a horrible selection. The debates are a sham. Candidates don't get to share their views, its about whoever has the best one-liner. Unfortunately for CNN Ron Paul still dominated the debate, and the other candidates flip-flopped all over the place. Giuliani's campaign is more or less done. He's on a big nose-dive.

I wonder if anyone recorded the times each of the candidates spoke overall?
It seemed like most of the questions were directed to either Romney or Giuliani and I--if I can remember correctly--can count on one hand the number of times Paul was questioned. He only spoke for about 3 minutes over all by my estimates.

There's a compilation video of all of Ron Paul's statements out and it clocks in at a bear 10 minutes. RP gets 10 minutes out of 2 hour + debate. Gee, thanks CNN. No, really... thanks.

I watched it streaming online. What a bullshit debate. Ron Paul, the one anti-war candidate got pretty much no attention, and they pick all these kiss up questions to Gulliani and Romney. That retarded bit about Yankees vs. Red Soxs at the end was just the icing on the cake. What a load of bull.
