  • Buick 455 won a Popular Hot Rodding Magazine shootout a few years ago. Made more power on the dyno than similarly modified popular big blocks including the 454 Chevy and 440 Chrysler.

  • i got the 455 and it starts right up thank god. No issues. I threw in some royal purple and some detergents to clean it out and it idles even better now and such a smooth idle tone also. Please let me know of any sites that I can visit that would have upgrade parts for this motor. Also, really big question, is there a 5 or 6 speed manual transmission that will bolt up or do I have to fabricate it? thanks.

  • please keep me posted on any new videos. I'm getting my hands on a olds 455 and wanna learn everything that I need to make this monster into godzilla (but with "some" street manners)lol

  • Im going to be swapping the 350 in my 71 skylark out for a 455 im working on, and i want to change the exhaust manifolds for some headers, but dont want to dish out too much money, know of any cheap headers for my setup?

  • Appreantly some people are too used to hearing engines on youtube with no load on them. I guess the dyno must be off since they seem to know better by watching a video online. this sounds like an engine under a load which is what Dynos measure!

  • 300 HP??? how do you come to that conclusion from watching a video? It dyno'ed at 450 HP 500 lbs torque (and that was with an undersized carb and first time it was fired up)... and it runs like a dream, I'm in year two with about 5K miles on it. Can't keep the rear tires under it.

  • @kralltime that guy is an idiot, olds are the truth, I have a olds 455 bored to a 468 all forged internals with main straps....this engine is estimated to put out 525 horsepower and 550 ft lbs of torque with stock heads...brother I'm with you.....

  • @kralltime i know this probably boils your water but throw some big rims like 22s to 26ss it will offset your rear end a bit and give you the snatch off you want or some slix

  • @kralltime ...SWEET

  • @kralltime i have a built Buick 455 in a 1978 trans am and i can't keeps tires on it either. it'll smoke the tires all the way through 1st 2nd and 3rd gear.

  • Sorry, But it sounds sick. And not the good kind of sick.

  • BEEF!

  • its choking

  • Love it! Olds forever!

  • W30 spec 455?

  • Awesome engine. What are the specs on the cam/comp ratio/intake/carb/etc. Olds 455's make unbelievable torque, I'm building one right now.
