Excellent video! I notice that you head move at least 2 inches upward and inward(away from ball) during the BS. I hope this is not camera angle issue. I notice the same for my backswing after practice the perpec motion dhrill. On the DS, you bring the head down at least 4 inches and manage to get everything back to a good stricking position. This is something that I haven't mastered. Does it require a lot of timing/good tempo to bring the head up and down by so much throughout the swing.
@teckyongyt Hi teck! We are all gravity experts and what you describe here is a natural function of the human body; I have several videos explaining why this is one of the most important things to allow to happen in a golf swing: "Feet together and one leg update", "create serious speed", "Horse Shoes and Lassos" and see "throwing the club" too; we call it the centrifugal pump and you will see it in all sport activities on this planet! Shawn
@clemshaw many thanks for your response. I have to agree that letting the gravity take over really increase my swing speed effortlessly (as you called it). My P3Pro simulator reported at least 3-5 mph for my 9I when I allow my head to naturally go up and down (of course, without reverse pivot). I will practice more on the dhrills and hope to master this before the start of season. "Feet together dhrill" really get me the feel. Practice and Practice...
hi Shawn, regarding fixing ure eyes on anypoint close to behind the golf ball. In your opinion is it possible to eye on one point during the upswing, and another point in the slightly behind the first point during down swing? ( this is due to slight head shivel during upswing). Lastly where do you fix ure eyes during driver swing where the ball is place at the toes or heel?
The eyes need to stay in one place to allow the focus to stay on the target and the feel of the swing that you are sending out to the target; your eyes have their own orbit so even if the head swivels a bit, they can still stay in one place...with driver, eyes are on the back of the ball or on a spot on the ground behind the ball that you are swinging through ON YOUR WAY TO THE TARGET!; 2 videos for you: "Golf pro lesson tilted twirl" and "Golf pro lesson the insanity of golf"; Shawn
18 seconds in. I've always had trouble with hitting the ball to the target. Some days not a problem, but I couldn't work out why this should be. I've been through all your vids (got the DVD set) but it was only when I revisited this video that something dawned on me. I was allowing my right foot to rise too early in the downswing. This was to allow me to get at the ball easier, or so I thought. The reverse is true! Yesterday I kept the foot down until it was pulled up post-impact.
Your video lessons are phenomenal. I am a right handed golfer. On my wood swings, I always need to step forward with my right leg to maintain my balance in the follow through. I most times hit it well but my bad ones are pushed straight right or a slight fade. Would you have a correction for this fault. Where can I find info to attend your academy in Canada?
Hey Timothy! Go to the contact page on my website and you will see it there for the Richmond Hill Golf Club; as for your question, it just means you are jumping the gun with the downswing and not waiting for the cycle of momentum to complete itself; see "golf pro lesson timing and tempo" and "golf pro lesson swing sequence" for starters; Hope to see you at the Learning Centre! Shawn
hi Shawn, your videos are great people in Canada are so lucky to have you you have helped my game so much with your stright forward lessons. you dont seem to be putting out new video's is this just because your so busy, thanks stay well Geoff
also from my side thank you so much for sharing all the good stuff most teachers can't teach or don't want to teach for one reason or the other. you really helped changing my golf experience from frustration to pure enjoyment. Im full of endorphines when I am back on the way home from the course or driving range respectively ^^.
I have so muh more self-confidence in my clubs and my swing - it now happens almost all by itself.
I am very new to the game of golf. My teacher offered me free lessons until my Golf certificate (I'm Dutch... you need a certificate to play here) but I have to do it by myself now :(.
Your video's on awareness has helped me enormously. I had a swing that wasn't too good. I was accurate, yes, but lacked distance and it strained my back muscle. (chickenwing)
So I tried to break down my swing step by step. Back swing, straightening of the left arm, cocking of the wrist, the down swing..
It ruined everything and I couldn't hit a ball straight.
Then I looked at your video's and saw how you put all the theory into the practice swing, get the feel and take that feel to address and not think about that stuff anymore. It takes some trust, but darn... it really helped. I discovered how to get the club to whip, how to start the down swing from the hips and how to aim for the target instead of the ball.
I just had my practice today and boy.... did it feel good!
Continue to let your instincts react to the momentum of the arm-club unit swinging freely to your target! They know what to do when you give them the feel you are looking for;
It looks like you come over the top and flip your hands through impact. it also looks like you do not get the proper extention to put pressure on the ball.
You could say the same with so many players making a lot more money than you on tour; I do not need any more distance as I can get over 190 yards with my 7 iron when I need it; and you can come to my place anytime to play me on either side; and yes I do have a unique swing (like everybody) that I am very proud of from both sides that I would not trade for any one's on tour; playing the tour is much more than a mere golf swing, just ask Brad Faxon! Try to be more positive next time OK?
Mr. Clemshaw, you are the professional. I was simply making an observation. I was offering no judgement to your skill level. To me swinging is relative when you have the basic fundamentals.
I was asking to get clarity in my own perceptions. A perfect swing is a myth. If you are a teacher and you perscribe something other than what you do, then it's relavent.
Hogan did many things that most people should not do, but his concept on fundamentals stands the test of time.
Hi Shawn: Great Video - I noticed when slowed down frame by frame it looks like you line up the club at a slight heel address compared to where the club (irons) strikes the ball - is this just my imagination? or is there a slight heel address? I know some Professionals like Sean O'Hair heel address with the driver.
Camera angles often trick the eye; there are many that do this however...Vijay, the late great Moe Norman, Fuzzy Zeoller etc...what matters is where the club passes as you are swinging the club towards the target; see "golf pro lesson distance to ball" part 2; Thank you for the observation! Shawn
I love Canada! :) I don't get to wear my shorts too often! :)
The DVD will help a bunch as it has all the info in priority sequence and it also has all shots executed on course from driver to putter in disc #3! Shawn
You seem to be lifting your left heel. My pro said that it shouldn't be done. Still your swing is very smooth and nicely controlled. But I'm still wondering about that foot work on the left side..
No problem! You will see from my "golf pro lesson Tilted spiral" part 1 and 2 as well as "golf pro lesson 2008 golf swing review part 1 and 2" that both are fine! Thanks for the comment!
cant argue with shawn's knowledge of the golf sing or how he hits it but ive always been told to keept the left foot down. shawn, ur balance must be good to do that and im sure that lifting that foot on takeaway forces you to shift your weight properly
Hey Keefgan89! That is why I have 2 ways to show golfers how to max out what they have; please see "Golf Pro lesson 2008 golf swing review" part 1 and 2 which will resume how to work a swing that keeps the left heel down and one that allows the left heel up in the backswing; important to note that the fundamentals are the same for both so thank you for the comment and I hope many get to read this response; Shawn
My favorite is the "perpetual motion drill" video; simply be aware of how gravity does the work in both directions and when the wrists pop into and out of the hinged position; then feel the same timing in the golf swing; also look at "golf pro lesson ball bearings and sockets;
LOL!! It is always entertaining when the likes of "know it all" golfers like you chime in; You make golf sound like some kind of special art when the same actions are found in fishing, bowling, belly dancing, skipping stones, frisbee throwing etc...like the hands have their own brain...good luck to you too!
Hi Shawn, You get into a nice position at the top. Although I get the club pretty parallel, I seem to have my arms behind me. I think I might over-rotate? I move forward slightly starting the downswing sometimes causing shanks. Any chance you could look at my swing on my channel? I know you're a busy man and people pay good money for your help. If not maybe one of you other guys might like to help me out! Much obliged, Luke
I have been wanting to for a while now but cannot stand the comments I get from Stack and Tilt guys; they are very aggressive and single minded and think everybody is out to get them...:) I prefer to focus on what I do best...I can tell you that I am not impressed apart from a couple of nuggets...see the other answer I gave below...Thanks for your question! Shawn
Very hard to distinguish what is used to what degree in their method; stack and tilt people definitely defend their method aggressively but I can tell you that I have found some very big holes in what they do; such as how to hit uphill shots, ball below the feet shots and even ball above the feet shots; I really do not see them contending well at the British open or any courses with hills like the Masters...Mike Weir won the Maters before going to them and has not returned to his glory...Shawn
At least 75% of the weight pressure gets to the inside of the right side going back but at the completed part of the backswing, you would have 65% against the left side and 35% from the right side remaining. See "golf pro lesson downswing weightshift" and "Golf Pro Lesson 2008 golf swing review part 1 and 2" Shawn
Ahhh, I see! Jeez, I can't believe it, after all this time!!
I marked my finger on the screen when you were at 3 o'clock on your back swing and noticed that on the down swing your hands came down 5-6" from the marked local. YOU HIT DOWN ON THE BALL!!! Impact from the loft creates lift!!! It appears counterintuitive, but, no, the physics is there! WOW! I'm really happy and really mad all at the same time, weird feeling!
hi shawn from germany. still snow here. waiting for spring. Question: Worked with the perp-drill and its really fantastic. feels a bit strange but the result is unbelieveable! doing this drill is a very steady movement. there is no time to worry about the movement of the arms, hands, hips etc. it is working by its own. BUT: to speed up, is it really only the "push the kids swing-analogy"? I suspect that its very hard to speed up in this short-termed time period... thanks from germany!
Shawn, the slo-mo's are great but they give me a different understanding than from some other of your u-tubes. The slo-mos appear to show active hip rotation to start downswing and cause plant of forward foot. Other vids talk about "falling thru ball" and "falling butt backwards". Also a lot of clubhead speed seems to come from active hip and torso rotation instead of just falling momentum, assisted by arms. Am I missing something?
What you see is my central nervous system taking care of the swing for me; it is simply getting my body braced in a way that matches the intensity of the shot I am focused on; see slicing tiger's comment on speeding up the downswing...
watching this in slow motion i notice something that is taught by the " model golf, swing alike a pro " the transition where the weight moves to the left before you complete you backswing with the arms. accordingto them, this is how the pros hit it so far. i have never heard you comment on that. do you actually do that or am i seeing things? thanks! carmen
If you go to the "golf pro lesson Timing and tempo Update" and "Golf Pro Lesson 2008 golf swing review part 1 and 2" videos you will see what you are writing; I say that the planting of the left heel COMPLETES THE BACKSWING!
Until I saw your swing in slo-mo I never caught your right leg making a forward press. I like how you stay down on the shot and how your hips lead on the downswing while you keep your arms in front of your torso just behind. Lots of power there. Thanks Shawn!
The key here is awareness; are you letting gravity complete the backswing where the body is turning out of the way emphatically while gravity and centrifugal force is pulling the arms away from the body and fully setting both wrists into the hinge in the backswing; so allow gravity to finish the job and don't feel like you are the one placing the club...
See "Bridging flat wrists with hinged wrists" and then use the perpetual motion drill to be aware of the movement...Shawn
Thanks for the slo-motion video. I was wondering if you have any videos or tips you could share with me to deal with keeping the right heel down through impact.
Go to "golf pro lesson Leverage Power", "golf Pro Lesson on the slopes" (Uphill and ball below the feet scenario) and "golf Pro Lesson Fairway Bunkers"; then the "feet together drill" video is awesome too! All the best! Shawn
Thanks for the slo-mo, we need more slo-mo in my humble opinion! It has allowed me to see what the relative positions of club hands, shoulders and hips are to each other during a full swing. One observation, early in the video I see you raising the heel of your leading foot on the back swing, but later shots you don't. Surely by raising the foot you are losing some of the torque you are trying to create for the later 'crushing' unwind?
If you go to the "Golf Pro Lesson 2008 golf swing review" part 1 and part 2 videos, you will see the 2 options; they are both great and I enjoy performing them both with tremendous success;
Shawn- just played my 31st game today. 101 score, started at about 128, but thanks to your videos and DVD almost every time my score has gone down, and lots of good shots, but putting is killing me. Today on a par 4 on the green on the drive-wind,dry grass your videos all helped but then 4 putted. on 6 or seven holes today I 3 and 4 putted. HELP PLEASE!!! Thanks again for all your wonderful help!!! Your teaching is second to none!!! Thanks again, wrfisherman
Hey wrfisherman! Thanks for the comment and question!
I have at least 4 videos on putting! See them in the "Short Game section" of the "You Tube Shawn" page of my website; and get my DVD too as it has a nice section on putting and reading greens on disc #3! Once you use momentum in all shots including and especially putting, you will become solid in every respect;
Ciao John. PS: Chi mandi a cagare???
Great compliation! Any thoughts on hitting a fluffy lie? I took a triple yesterday because I went under a ball with a 6 iron...ball caught the top of clubface...lost 25 yds and it fell short into water. If there's a technique pls let us know. The basic "compressing ball against the clubace" doesn't seem to work in these situations...Thx. You're great.
Hey Shawn, you make a move like Kenny Perry when you do the one legged perpetual motion drill. You know how he sort of lifts up a little and stands a little taller as he moves from backward to forward?
He Shawn. Nice vid. I like slow motion golf shots. I have one question and a comment. Seeing you play both side, do you know what is the ruling for the clubs in your bag for that? Could you have 13 right clubs and one lefty?
Also, even if it would be hard to do that on Youtube, it would be interesting to see a round of golf and how you approach each shots, how to play the course and manage it.
Great videos on your channel, I'm pushing every friend of minde to watch them.
Hi Shawn - nice video. I dream of getting the lag that you do on your downswing - does that come naturally over time or is it something that develops with experience? When I try to do it, results are very mixed. Also, it seems to me that the amount your left heel comes off the ground varies - do you always bring it slighly off the ground or does it depend on the club you are using? Cheers, John.
Lag has a lot to do with focus. His stone skipping analogy is awesome for this. If you take a stone and throw it into the ground from your setup position, the motion will appear similar to that of someone who is focused on hitting the ball.
If you take a stone and throw it high towards your target, you will automatically have a great deal of lag without even thinking about it (but you have to focus on throwing the momentum towards the target).
I really enjoyed the predator sound effects! if you could only put some visual predator effect with voice analyser on the side of this vid it would be fun :P.. Fun watch thanks!
Hi Shawn, great vid! Am a big fan! General question regarding "planting" on the way down...Would it be fair to say that u plant an unwinded or un-protruted (knee over foot as opposed to the right of the foot) on ur way down...It would be great if you could please elaborate on that...I've tried planting straight down winded...but then left leg cannot move outwards...I think I finally get it, but would appreciate any comments/suggestions...Thanks!
Hey Shawn, look who's leading the PGA tourney, it's that "crazy keep your feet on the ground" Kenny Perry! Hmmm...reminds me of...well, you know! I'm still having trouble sharing this stuff with my buddies, cause I like to beat the @#$% out of 'em! :)
I've been following your lessons for a few months now, trying to square your concepts to Bobby Clampett's Impact Zone concept. You both seem in agreement on most points, and I hope you guys reform this "scooper" of the golf ball. Bobby emphasizes aiming your hands at a point ahead of the ball in order to achieve a divot beyond the ball. Any comments on this, or any of his other ideas in the book?
Good point about aiming. However I aim at a point in front of 11:00 (if ball is a clockface). This gets me hitting down and slightly out for a nice draw. PS: I actually focus on a blade of grass...not the ball
I see where BC teaches to hit drives on the downswing. " I'm blown away that so many reputable golf teachers instruct their students to strike the driver on the upswing. Regardless of whether a ball is on a tee or on the ground, the swing bottom must consistently be four inches in front of the ball. And swinging slightly down on the ball with the driver goes a long way toward ensuring that." (Golf Digest Nov 07)
I would have to agree with you t3. Hitting down with the driver goes against the design of the club in general. Maybe off the deck if you are TW or VG, (or SC!) but not for optimum performance off the the tee.
Do You like to screw hips to wright , almost 35 degrees as fare I can see in backswing move? I tell my students to do almost no hip screw in backswing to create power.
Is Tiger wrong in his steady position with no hip move at all in backswing?
Tiger can win with any swing! When he was winning everything in the juniors he had a much bigger turn in the backswing that only needed to be planted properly in the downswing; instead, they said to stabilize the lower body by not moving it...he adjusted and worked hard and is able to swing but now has a very bad knee in the process...others have bad backs or bad hips and others have bad shoulders! None of this is necessary!!
WOW! I now realize how little lower body action I still have even after doing your system all this time Shawn. Old School Swing VJ=Fedex Cup Jack= 18 majors.
Also one little insignificant mini-tour pro. 24 starts total in career=5 wins 5 finishes in the money. Thanks a million again Shawn. Couldn't have done it without you. Now I know what my practice session will be for the next week. Thanks again. Tim
Yes! Absolutely! To clear the body in the backswing the legs must follow immediately! Vijay's main swing key is left knee behind the ball and this was also a key move for Jack! How about baseball pitchers?! I totally attribute this to allowing my body a complete backswing which allows me to whip the snot out of the club effortlessly for CONSISTENT POWER WITHOUT SACRIFICING ACCURACY! Also notice that a stable lower body does not mean ONE THAT DOESN'T MOVE! :) Thanks for posting the comment!
I was not trying to rag on you...:) I just want to make sure people get this picture because many think exactly like you in the sense that they see what they see on tour and think it is the be all and end all; every last one of these guys on tour could swing like this and perform either the same or better becauseI was just like them 15 years ago! And Old School was a better school that just needed to be tweaked and not knee jerked into an overhaul that is killing golfers backs! Thanks again!
I did try your method one day and felt like everything had to be in perfect harmony and rhythm to connect well. When it was, striking the ball felt great like I was dancing. But if I over planted or was late in the toss then it felt out of kilter. The toss, plant and whip had to all work smoothly. I may have it wrong but it seems like it's very much a "feel" sequence. Whereas I'm use to thinking mechanical with my swing.
Yes; I have been meaning to do this for a while for many of you guys and I just upgraded some software from Apple (hot off the presses) to be able to do it well...glad you enjoyed it!
Damn man your form is great awesome golf swing.

There should be NO attempt to hinge the club (Sam Snead).
The hands are the most unreliable part of the body.
Taking the club on a slight inside angle straight line and returning it will hinge your hands naturally.
You will always feel like you want to hinge your hands when you don't get the clubhead started on plane.
Good Luck

LOL!! It is always entertaining when the likes of "know it all" golfers like you chime in; You make golf sound like some kind of special art when the same actions are found in fishing, bowling, belly dancing, skipping stones, frisbee throwing etc...like the hands have their own brain...good luck to you too!

An observation. If I focus on feeling the whip the club through the ball I do very well.
When I get into a rut trying to whip the clubhead through the ball I get into trouble.
bluejfk 2 years ago
Hi Shawn, You get into a nice position at the top. Although I get the club pretty parallel, I seem to have my arms behind me. I think I might over-rotate? I move forward slightly starting the downswing sometimes causing shanks. Any chance you could look at my swing on my channel? I know you're a busy man and people pay good money for your help. If not maybe one of you other guys might like to help me out! Much obliged, Luke

You should do a video briefly explaining the Stack and Tilt golf swing
It would be greatly appreciated :)
paulvenom9 2 years ago
I have been wanting to for a while now but cannot stand the comments I get from Stack and Tilt guys; they are very aggressive and single minded and think everybody is out to get them...:) I prefer to focus on what I do best...I can tell you that I am not impressed apart from a couple of nuggets...see the other answer I gave below...Thanks for your question! Shawn

what do you think of the stack and tilt?
paboya35 2 years ago
Very hard to distinguish what is used to what degree in their method; stack and tilt people definitely defend their method aggressively but I can tell you that I have found some very big holes in what they do; such as how to hit uphill shots, ball below the feet shots and even ball above the feet shots; I really do not see them contending well at the British open or any courses with hills like the Masters...Mike Weir won the Maters before going to them and has not returned to his glory...Shawn
clemshaw 2 years ago
Shawn,
What percentage of your weight is on your right side at the top of the backswing?
paboya35 2 years ago

I suspect that its very hard to speed up in this short-termed time period... thanks from germany!

hi shawn, your Bilateral Golf swing video gave me exactly the best answer to my question.
your teaching is perfect!!!!

slicingtiger 2 years ago
Shawn, the slo-mo's are great but they give me a different understanding than from some other of your u-tubes. The slo-mos appear to show active hip rotation to start downswing and cause plant of forward foot. Other vids talk about "falling thru ball" and "falling butt backwards". Also a lot of clubhead speed seems to come from active hip and torso rotation instead of just falling momentum, assisted by arms. Am I missing something?
go4birdie 2 years ago
No; not at all!
What you see is my central nervous system taking care of the swing for me; it is simply getting my body braced in a way that matches the intensity of the shot I am focused on; see slicing tiger's comment on speeding up the downswing...
Thanks for the comment! Shawn

watching this in slow motion i notice something that is taught by the " model golf, swing alike a pro " the transition where the weight moves to the left before you complete you backswing with the arms. accordingto them, this is how the pros hit it so far. i have never heard you comment on that. do you actually do that or am i seeing things? thanks! carmen
crimn 3 years ago
Hey Carmen!
If you go to the "golf pro lesson Timing and tempo Update" and "Golf Pro Lesson 2008 golf swing review part 1 and 2" videos you will see what you are writing; I say that the planting of the left heel COMPLETES THE BACKSWING!
Shawn
clemshaw 2 years ago
Until I saw your swing in slo-mo I never caught your right leg making a forward press. I like how you stay down on the shot and how your hips lead on the downswing while you keep your arms in front of your torso just behind. Lots of power there. Thanks Shawn!

Hi Shawn,
I have been told that my club is too laid off at the top of my swing. Are there any of your videos that deal with that problem.
Thanks in advance,
Jette
jetteelliot 3 years ago
Hi Jette!

Hi Shawn,
Thanks for the slo-mo, we need more slo-mo in my humble opinion!
Best regards,
Barry

Shawn- just played my 31st game today. 101 score, started at about 128, but thanks to your videos and DVD almost every time my score has gone down, and lots of good shots, but putting is killing me. Today on a par 4 on the green on the drive-wind,dry grass your videos all helped but then 4 putted. on 6 or seven holes today I 3 and 4 putted. HELP PLEASE!!! Thanks again for all your wonderful help!!! Your teaching is second to none!!! Thanks again, wrfisherman

Hey wrfisherman! Thanks for the comment and question!
I have at least 4 videos on putting! See them in the "Short Game section" of the "You Tube Shawn" page of my website; and get my DVD too as it has a nice section on putting and reading greens on disc #3! Once you use momentum in all shots including and especially putting, you will become solid in every respect;
All the best, Shawn

You know how he sort of lifts up a little and stands a little taller as he moves from backward to forward?
theestrogenius 3 years ago
He Shawn.
Take care

Hi Shawn - nice video. I dream of getting the lag that you do on your downswing - does that come naturally over time or is it something that develops with experience? When I try to do it, results are very mixed. Also, it seems to me that the amount your left heel comes off the ground varies - do you always bring it slighly off the ground or does it depend on the club you are using? Cheers, John.
jcr1964 3 years ago
i share exactly the same question.
fauzimnoor 3 years ago
Lag has a lot to do with focus. His stone skipping analogy is awesome for this. If you take a stone and throw it into the ground from your setup position, the motion will appear similar to that of someone who is focused on hitting the ball.
If you take a stone and throw it high towards your target, you will automatically have a great deal of lag without even thinking about it (but you have to focus on throwing the momentum towards the target).

Shawn,
I've been following your lessons for a few months now, trying to square your concepts to Bobby Clampett's Impact Zone concept. You both seem in agreement on most points, and I hope you guys reform this "scooper" of the golf ball. Bobby emphasizes aiming your hands at a point ahead of the ball in order to achieve a divot beyond the ball. Any comments on this, or any of his other ideas in the book?
Thank you for your series of lessons!
alb7668 3 years ago
Good point about aiming. However I aim at a point in front of 11:00 (if ball is a clockface). This gets me hitting down and slightly out for a nice draw. PS: I actually focus on a blade of grass...not the ball
FairwayJack 3 years ago
I see where BC teaches to hit drives on the downswing. " I'm blown away that so many reputable golf teachers instruct their students to strike the driver on the upswing. Regardless of whether a ball is on a tee or on the ground, the swing bottom must consistently be four inches in front of the ball. And swinging slightly down on the ball with the driver goes a long way toward ensuring that." (Golf Digest Nov 07)
chapter13bmw 3 years ago
umm... i think that that is wrong considering Tiger, Adam Scott, Vijay and many others all hit the driver on the upswing.
t3n0r2009 3 years ago
I would have to agree with you t3. Hitting down with the driver goes against the design of the club in general. Maybe off the deck if you are TW or VG, (or SC!) but not for optimum performance off the the tee.
golfgods 3 years ago
plus if you hit down with the driver, it will pop the ball up, not carry it out. it's good for irons, not drivers.

Nice clips, have two questions!
Do You like to screw hips to wright , almost 35 degrees as fare I can see in backswing move? I tell my students to do almost no hip screw in backswing to create power.
Is Tiger wrong in his steady position with no hip move at all in backswing?
What is Your ansver on that?
Thank´s
Johnny
trumpetharmonica 3 years ago
Tiger can win with any swing! When he was winning everything in the juniors he had a much bigger turn in the backswing that only needed to be planted properly in the downswing; instead, they said to stabilize the lower body by not moving it...he adjusted and worked hard and is able to swing but now has a very bad knee in the process...others have bad backs or bad hips and others have bad shoulders! None of this is necessary!!
Shawn
clemshaw 3 years ago
Tim

You have a lot of left leg action. I don't think many modern day pro's have that much but you could prove me wrong.
itubeutude 3 years ago
Yes! :) Thanks for posting the comment!
clemshaw 3 years ago
With all due respect, Vijay and especially Jack are old school swingers.
I'm not saying what you're doing is wrong. far from it. It's just very different to what the new kids on tour do.
itubeutude 3 years ago
I was not trying to rag on you...:) I just want to make sure people get this picture because many think exactly like you in the sense that they see what they see on tour and think it is the be all and end all; every last one of these guys on tour could swing like this and perform either the same or better becauseI was just like them 15 years ago! And Old School was a better school that just needed to be tweaked and not knee jerked into an overhaul that is killing golfers backs! Thanks again!
clemshaw 3 years ago
Fair point and understandable.
Thanks for you input.
