  • i wait for maxwell ;d

  • Why the fuck do they still sell GTX 580 at the price of Radeon 7970, which is way better than GTX 580 (Seriously, benchmarks, specifications, even this video prove it)??? My country is a shit. Technology is a shit. Marketing is A PLAGUED SHIT!

  • its always like that. Every 1 year, better faster GPUs come out

  • I can't wait to see you mysteriously get ahold of a GTX 780 (the 600 series is mobile, the 700 series is desktop).

  • Enter to my channel to see my score. P14842. I wait for you!

  • Entrad a mi canal para ver mi puntuacion. P14842.

    Os espero!

  • In April when kepler hits AMD will be at the back of the bus again. GTX680/690 will once again be on top . The 7970 will be for the mainstream folks. I'll just upgrade my 2 gtx580s 3gb to 2 680s and ownage again @ 2560 x 1600 all ultra.

  • @USArmySGT40 Ehm, don't think so. The fastest card today is 6990. A little bit faster then the GTX 590 not much. I don't think Nvidia will beat ATI.

  • @metalpounder nope ! both are fast and in nvidia titles the nvidia will be faster.

  • Comment removed

  • @rockrl98 The majority of Hardware reviewers have stated on their websites that the 6990 is slightly faster than the 590. Don't believe me? Google after reviews 6990 vs 590 and you will see.

  • A 580 replacement is pointless in most ways

  • what's the name of the intro sound. it#s rocking hard :D

  • When is intense part like 2:50 7970 isn't so much faster than gtx 580 so amd isn't improved tessalation performance like they said 4 times better than 6900 series fps still drops so kepler will easily beat 7950 and 7970 especially in tessalation performance

  • @audigamer1 dude the 18 fps and 22 is the same diffrence like 180 fps vs 220 so stfu!

  • Not that impressive from the hd7970 apart from the power and heat results.

There where only a few FPS in it most of the time.

    New Nvidia for me,me thinks.

  • I was without my Desktop for awhile. I decided to play Bad Company 2 on the PS3 we have for Hulu and Netflix. My mouth hit the floor. How the FUCK do console people see anything??!

  • @Br0k3n1mAg1nAsHuNn3d They have a completely different architecture (Evergreen of the 5770 vs VLIW5 of the 6870), so there is no way you can CF them. Also, if you are looking for a worthy upgrade for your system, I would suggest buying a 6950.

  • Tnx for the awsome video.

  • Now here is a question, what looks better AMD or Nvidia or is it the same, just FPS stats and power use is the issue?

I want something that plays every game maxed out at 1920 x 1080 that has 30 + fps and looks wonderful, tho I am having a hard time between the two, I used Nvidia years back on my old PC and it maxed Crysis tho my pc was crap, the AMD I have runs well but some times looks like crap... I have a 5770 HD

  • yeah!!!! awsome :D :D muahahah but two 7970 cannot play bf3 :D muahahahahahahahah

  • The HD7970 kick gtx580 ass in every way

  • @TiranusTX in benchmarks true not in games :D specially with crossfire :D muahahahahahhahahaha

  • Thumbs up if you watched this video while having your breakfast !

  • It's nice to have the metal music again!

  • What I would do for a wireframe mode :3

  • After just 1 year of the GTX 580 3GB release:

A new powerful card, with much more efficiency, and much less heat..

    damn you technology, lol..

  • Took you a while to get benchmarks posted, but good job and thanks! I'd love to see how these new AMD cards perform when overclocked!

  • that test is a waste of time, one card is PCIE 2.0 and the othere is 3.0 and its only running at about 80% of its performance maximum, so whats the point of that ?

test should have been done on a Rampage 4 Extreme that suport both gen 2 and gen 3 PCIE then give the numbers out. wont be so close for the end result then i can asure you, the 580 will be raped pillaged and then kept as the 7970's bitch.

  • @SRSpoony you're actually wrong its not 80%, in some cases PCIe 3.0 makes the card perform worse and otherwise gives an increased performance of about 0.22%-0.8%, so the card performed nearly at max capability.

  • @Erulilum listern sunshine your already starting to bore me to the core, go back to trolling about things you already know, since i have a PCIE 2.0 setup and a 3.0 setup i think i know more than you on whats running at what speeds.

i can hear your mommy calling for you r bed time and telling you to get your homework done before you go sleepy time, stick to consoles kid and playing MW3

  • @SRSpoony Why get so butthurt, just run some benchmarks now and compare the results the only "substantial" performance increase would be with graphics programs with 5-8% increase, while it would have no impact whatsoever on games. Since none of the current graphics cards can even use the full potential of PCIe 2.0,

  • @Erulilum dont feed the troll man. this 7970 is awesome

  • Now we need the games that will use these cards not the fucking console ports!

  • Very happy to see another trubitar video!!!!

  • OOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVERRRRRRCLOCK THEM

  • LOL a OC'ed 7950 has a 3Dmark P score of 8870 that beats a 590 with a score of 8734.

  • @captaincough a single GPU bounced the Dual 590 ??? shit . I love AMD/ATI GPU's i have the 5970 its Uncle. I have not OC'd it . I'm thinking of the 7970 ..when I max out my X58 Board. would like to for the INtel HEX 970/980 (locked) and populate all my ram slots to 24gb or should i just by another 5970 and go quad-fire ?

  • @ZoneTelevision The 5xxx series don't scale that well in tri- and quadfire. If you are thinking of upgrading wait for the next series from Nvidia. You won't get much from upgrading your ram (unless you are video editing). You should just get a 2500k or something or wait for Ivy-Bridge since the 980 doesn't perform that much better.

  • @ZoneTelevision If you have that amount of cash to spend then try learning about hardware first and decide for yourself instead of posting a load of boasting bullshit. More to being an enthusiast than just buying parts i fyou don't have a clue what the hell your buying.

  • @ElensarFFXI Wouldn't surprise me in the least if you salivated at the attempt to wipe your ass all over my post. ..

I was voicing information by responding to a person about my system for the purpose of getting an informed opinion.. (fuck you very much)..

Yours was not solicited yet you took the liberty voice your contempt as for some reason it irks you that someone may not know as much. Learn to be member of the human race first ...then remove that hard-drive from your ass.

  • @ZoneTelevision Your post was a pointless boast about your system. It was fuck all about getting help lol.

  • Comment removed

  • Why the fuck do people make these "the human eye can only see blah blah fps" comments, fucking educate yourselves for god sake, diferent people have different eyesight, some better than other which can tell/feel the smoothness ingame, fast games like racing or quick 1st person's you'll definitely notice the difference between 60 and 120 as the framerate needs to keep up with the motion on screen.

  • @yourma2000 do you not know what a monitor refresh rate is? if the fps is higher than the monitor refresh rate, vertical tearing will occur. the image will not appear smoother at all. this is why vsync exists. since most monitors have a refresh rate of 60 hertz, those people cannot see higher than 60 fps.

  • @TGSibtrippin226 Yeah, that's true. Unless you have 120 hz monitor like I have, I have no reason to use vsync since it doesn't tear unless it goes beyond 120 fps.

  • @yourma2000 I totally agreed, I'm getting tired of seeing people saying "Oh, the human eye can only see up to 30 fps", bullshit! The only reason why people can't see beyond 60 fps is NOT because of human eye capability, but because monitor can't handle that many fps (60 hz, hint hint). Unless you get the 120 hz monitor (which I currently have), you should be able to see up to 120 fps.

  • @yourma2000 It's actually the brain that interpolates what is happening, beyond a certain framerate. The human eye does have certain limits, and although some people's sight is better than others, there is indeed a limit to which we are all bound. The brain does a remarkable job interpolating the data it receives from the eyes to give us as clear a picture as possible.

  • @yourma2000 im playing dead space 2 now and if the game is locked at 30 fps v-sync on i cant see shit while i move the mouse i have to keep it off getting 150 fps and crystal clear view of every think 30 fps vs 150 fps is like hell and heaven

  • @yourma2000 Whats even more retarded is the fact they are saying that on a BENCHMARK test.

  • @yourma2000 totally true ... that's why we keep on upgrading our GPU's to keep up with the frame rate we enjoy playing at. we are not normal players we are Gamers :)

  • @yourma2000 The average is about 60 FPS, but it varies alot between people. I can actually notice a big difference between 60 and 75 FPS, for example. If anyone can only go up to 30 frames per second, its YouTube itself (unless you have HTML 5 on your video).

  • @yourma2000 u really dont pay attention in science do u? the human eye sees 24 fps but anything above 30 appears as liquid to us and if u ever saw a video with 120 and compare to 60 it will look the same

  • @yourma2000 u tube videos are played at 25-30 fps u cant tell the difference between 30 and 120

  • not sure why people want to have a very expensive card to have over 100 or 80 fps, the human eye can only 60 wich alot of mid end card can do that at some games.

  • @gunnar045 so obviously you have never heard of... splitting? or... 120hz? well. see the faster the frame-rate the faster the response is gonna be... I have a 120hz monitor and a 60hz monitor... My 60hz is rated 2ms... and i thought that was responsive.. but Bwahaha.. Noo wayy is it faster then a 120hz... so yeah.. thats partly the reason bud.. lol

  • @gunnar045 It's not the human eye that can't see beyond 60 fps, but because the monitor can't handle it since most monitor's refresh rate is 60 hz. If you have 120 hz like I have, you should be able to see the difference between 60 fps and 120 fps.

  • @gunnar045 DURRRRRP

  • Thanks Trubritar, you super trooper you!

  • Great video but the gtx 580 ultra classified @ 900 MHz for $549 is a better comparison on newegg no tax free shipping!

  • @aberkae the GTX580 will still get raped, specially if they OC the HD7970 to 1200Mhz, which is easily achieved ;)

  • why is the PCI E Running at the 1.1 spec only for the ATI card?

  • @thelasthallow Because its PCI-E 3.0 specifications.

  • Surprised how close it is to the 580, best mate works in a local pc. customer bought a 580 and it was to big for there case so he gave it back bought it from my m8 for 230 euro 8 months ago solid buy i feel :)

  • MOTHER OF SILICON!!

  • 7970 sucks, really lookin forward to kepler :D

  • I feel like ATI over clocks to the detriment of lifespan of the card, and geforce is of higher quality. so like 2 frames? Im sticking with geforce

  • Awesome Pc-Porn trubritar xD

  • About what i was expecting. the only thing i find strange are the temps. the 580 was 67c at it's hottest point. well the 7970 was 70c. i would have thought the new arch would have been cooler running.

  • Would a 700w coolermaster real power psu run a 7970?

  • @aschris87 Yes but be sure to use 2 separate 12 volt rails

  • @aschris87 yes

  • what about a EVGA GTX580 classified vs 7970?

  • this is 28 nm vs 40 nm when nvidia 28nm cards will be out there will be fair comparation and all amd fanboys Facepalm

  • @Geforce6150se And your waiting, have fun doing so. I no I will have fun waiting for HD8000 series ;P

  • @Geforce6150se We already know that this coming generation of Nvidia products are NOT going to be 28 nm. On another note the next gen cards for Nvidia will not be out for at least a couple more months meaning at this time these are the highest end offerings for both companies, as far as single gpu cards go.

  • THAT FERMI HEAT BRO

  • Considering looking at the GPU-z info on the cards.... that radeon is really not pulling that far ahead of the Nvidia card compared to how much more powerful it looks on the spec comparison. Nvidia still wins as far as im concerned not that anyone cares about my opinion hahaha

  • @ElensarFFXI Exactly. Facts >>>> opinions.

  • @SWOgottaGO Fact is that card should be pulling much further ahead than it is.

  • @ElensarFFXI don't forget that the current drivers are very, very unstable. Give them a few months to "mature" and I expect to see a pretty decent performance increase (at least, i hope).

  • @thierryvt ATIs drivers are always rediculous and unstable regardless of how mature they are.

  • Wow the 7970 beat the 580 in performance and energy consume, let's see if nvidia can compite again with the new kepler gpus.

  • I am a nvidia fanboy, but, boy!! the 7970 corners the 580 and gives it a good hiding.

  • Main battle show... AMD VS NVIDIA... Bah never end... Nvidia fans get lost, and learn to lose... :D You will have to learn it for some time comming... :D Thank you Advansed Micro Device for giving us this pleasure to have this amazing things in our hands... :D at last some of them with 500E in they pocket... :D

  • @YU1SRT looks like advanced is 2 advanced for you to spell trolololol

  • @Xfrags Yes my eng is bad... but take it this way... my lang is not even close to eng rus gb... or something like that... So lear word I lose i shuld get over that... Make something beter... And then came back to fight... Thank you :)

  • I'd like to see how a max stable overclocked 580 would fair against a max stable overclocked 7970. Would the performance gap be smaller or larger?

  • clearly a poorly designed engine, and thus irrelevant to proving the actual power of these cards...

  • @gainpro Comparing would still work though.

  • @TheRealDerohneNick with false info? pfft.

  • @gainpro If the powerleak is the same on both cards, it would still be compareable. xD

  • The difference is not that big...I can't imagine a nVidia gpu made at 28nm

  • My 570 performs like this 580.

  • @YonOtto OC?

  • @YonOtto See, the 580 is on stock, you can't compare. ^^

  • @TheRealDerohneNick No shit its stock. But my point being I have my 570 performing like a stock 580 and saved myself £150 in the process. WIN!

  • @YonOtto No shit. Now you lost the warenty. You can go even higher with the 580... I thought you had a good point for posting. xD

  • @TheRealDerohneNick You butthurt because a card costing waaaay more gets equalled by a card costing much less. Oh and its 845mhz on the core out of the box Gigabyte SOC edition. So I'm sure Gigabyte got me covered on that one :D what was that about warranty Mr nub? :3 I paid £250 for this card. Yes the 580 can get more out of it when its overclocked thats obvious and for £400 I would expect so. Try harder next time nubby ^O^

  • @YonOtto I still don't get why you think that this stands in any relation to the video. You weren't clear on the specific card name in your first two comments. How should I know you got a pre-oc card?

I even agree with you, that the price gap between enthusiast and top notch is too high, so you can calm down. It was more of a misunderstanding than a disagreement.

The cheapest 580GTX is like £330 btw.

  • @TheRealDerohneNick This isnt a forum where you are supposed to keep on topic, hell I could post a comment about how much petrol costs or how cold it is outside XD and noone can do shit :3... but I saw the 580 running 3Dmark11 exactly like my 570 runs it and was shocked so I made a comment about it yeh £330 right now as the new cards are being released sooon plus AMD are destroying Nvidia atm until they release their new cards, but back when I purchased my 570 the 580 was £400

  • @YonOtto You are right, it still confused me. ^^

  • @YonOtto as does my gtx 560ti 448 cores classified no need to waste money on a 580.

  • Trubitar, i really want to download that badass intro music

  • @Judoca08 me too.. lol

  • I would really like to see what both of these cards ,each overclocked to 1ghz core clock would do against each other (I know it's a lot harder/luckier to get a gtx 580 to 1ghz)

  • Lol, not that big of a difference

  • Why did i buy a 1200w PSU?.. hmm

  • @TheJeepGeek SLI oder Crossfire! :D

  • I bought my first "high end" card in 2011. It was a GTX 580.

Never again will I waste so much money on a high end card. It's brilliant, don't get me wrong. But there were virtually no games in the past 18 months that actually took advantage of its power. In future I'll definitely be buying in the enthusiast range rather than the top end. It's a complete waste.

  • 4th!nvidia gets destroyed again!

  • @viziki1 Well, you should wait for the 600 series. xD

  • @TheRealDerohneNick i ve got to agree on this thought..

  • ya ya ya so cool

  • Can't wait to see cards in a few years. They'll be hitting 100+ fps minimums on this benchmark with no problem.

  • @dkamm65 Benchmarks in a few years. <1 fps with these cards. xD

  • @dkamm65 there will always a new benchmark programme that will bring them to their there knees

  • @dkamm65 Benchmarks benchmarks benchmarks... True, but the console market is ruining standards for games - MASSIVELY.

So unless you're an enhthusiast who just likes to sit around running benchmarks all day, there'd be no use for that kind of hardware. That'll cause hardware creators to lose their enthusiasm - not generating as powerful increases with their prodcuts per generation.

  • @AmH032uTuBe There is no fucking way id play console graphics. There is more to a pc enhthusiasts hardware than enhthusiast benchmarking.

  • @WARFOX101 Erm, that was the point I was trying to make...

My point being that nowadays there is little difference between console and PC graphics [in most games], other than extra effects, features (such as AA, etc.) and the higher internal resolution that the GPU would produce.

  • @dkamm65 in a few years they'll be 3D Mark 22 and the results will be what you see now

  • @dkamm65 Think about the Folding you can do!

  • @dkamm65 what's your point??? new benchmarks are gonna come out

  • @johnchen0213 My point is cards in a few years will make this benchmark look like nothing. It's interesting to see the trend in performance improvements.

  • @dkamm65

You were probably the person saying that about Crysis in 2007, hurr never happened.

  • @rushnerd Hurr yes it did.

  • @dkamm65

    Show me, now.

  • @rushnerd Are you telling me cards now can't run Crysis at >100 fps?

  • @dkamm65

Very high, 1080p at least. Watch Trub's own videos on this.

  • @dkamm65 ya cuz these are considered outdated :D

  • @dkamm65 but there will be other benchmarks where they will be getting the same results, ones that look much better...got to love the hardware industry XD

  • second...trololol^^

  • waaaaaaaaaa! First Comment!!!

  • @trubritar How about some overclocking benchmarks?

  • @trubritar LOL first comment is easy, try getting last comment. =P
