Psychiatry is a very very basic 'science' at the moment. Psychiatrists have a very limited understanding of the human mind but they never admit this.
If I were to be treated by a psychiatrist I'd trust them more if they admitted that there diagnosis using meds is trial and error and they don't know much about the human mind in regard to mental health.
However I don't trust people with limited knowledge who think they are 'experts'... they are experts at knowing very limited knowledge!
This is the study required in Australia to become a Psychiatrist.
Complete a medical degree. 1 to 2 years working in general jobs as a junior resident. Begining psychiatric training is then a minimum of 5 years as a Junior trainee.

Therefore it is possible that other chemical factors affect other aspects of our thought processes. Eli Lilly and prosecutors are discussing a settlement of a civil and criminal investigation into the company's marketing of the antipsychotic drug Zyprexa that could result in Lilly's paying more than $1 billion to fed govt.
The fine would be in addition to $1.2 billion that Lilly has already paid to settle 30,000 lawsuits from people who claim that Zyprexa caused them to suffer diabetes or other diseases.
Protecting from psychology and mind-killing drugs is about the only thing I can agree with from Scientology. In that case they are the lesser of two evils - I would rather believe in an oppressive alien than take pills for a pharmaceutical lobotomy.
Not even remotely close. My religious beliefs don't include aliens or volcano's. I do however think, and have well before I have ever heard of the corporation called Scientology, that the psych profession is about as reliable as a religion, that it is irresponsibly drug-happy, and that it has a history of inhuman solutions for the mind of man. Psychiatry is a very very basic 'science' at the moment. Psychiatrists have a very limited understanding of the human mind but they never admit this.
If I were to be treated by a psychiatrist I'd trust them more if they admitted that there diagnosis using meds is trial and error and they don't know much about the human mind in regard to mental health.
However I don't trust people with limited knowledge who think they are 'experts'... they are experts at knowing very limited knowledge!

This is the study required in Australia to become a Psychiatrist.
Complete a medical degree. 1 to 2 years working in general jobs as a junior resident. Begining psychiatric training is then a minimum of 5 years as a Junior trainee.
Scientology training = Turn the sauna tap on ( or off as the case may be I guess it depends on the particular mental illess ). Next hand over obscene amounts of multi vitamins. Once dehydrated with liver failure from too much Niacin get them to do some excercise.

There is no cure for 99% of all medical diseases (if you are hypertensive you will allways have to take a pill to treat it), but there is PROPER TREATMENT for most of them, including mental ilness. I've heard surgeons saying "what is not operated on cant be cured, if you have an appencicitis we remove it and you will never suffer from it again". CCHR advocates getting people off their psych meds and to treat them with "counseling with an E-meter at their local CoS" allegedly this will CURE them.

It can and has been proven that a chemical imbalance, salt or potassium or just simple water for example has a direct affect on the brain. Therefore it is possible that other chemical factors affect other aspects of our thought processes. I do however think, and have well before I have ever heard of the corporation called Scientology, that the psych profession is about as reliable as a religion, that it is irresponsibly drug-happy, and that it has a history of inhuman solutions for the mind of man.
