guys do not buy this phone. it looks great until you start playing with it. it freezes constantly, facebook does not work on it, the screen will go black and not want to turn on for some time, and i have only had it since july! right now its not working at all. i cant text a single person because of how slow it is being and when i let the screen go black it will not turn back on until i reset it or pull the battery. very disapointed in this phone

The resistive touchscreen is used because it uses less power and also allows user to write out Chinese/Japanese characters. You have to remember that HTC is a Taiwanese company and that is very important to the designers.

it can take 32gb card, and the reson they keep resistiv screens is because the company is chinese and they like to sell their produckts in their country, you cant write chinese on compasitive touch screen but you can on resistiv.!!!!!!! =) so there you got. Sprint still have the best plans. verizon sucks money as well. In fact most of their midrange phones now require a data plan. Phones that just a few months ago required none. Also all of the carriers have no more units with free wifi.

To conclude my last comment, it's just a reviewers opinion, not fact. The lag is from software, not because of the screen.

It's cheaper to produce and doesn't limit users from having to use actual finger skin contact vs any object to make contact to the screen. Plus the fact that there are very small menus on either websites or through WinMo that is easier to access via fingernail or stylus.

Does the reviewer understand that the 288 MB RAM is volatile memory and not non-volatile? You have 512MB of ROM which is what you use to store stuff. The ram is for the OS, and that's a lot for the phone.

And it's clearly an opinion the differences of resistive and capacitive screens. 6.5 supports capacitive, but most people like to use stylus's with the device. Also capacitive does eat up more battery then resistive and resistive is still pretty responsive enough to still be manufactured.

you do have legitimate points, but, $350.00 is outrageous for that small amount of permanent storage space. Also, some of the other carriers have a case and a screen protector in the box with their version of this phone, Sprint doesn't give you either of those. I think that kind of stingy thinking by Sprint is why they are still bleeding customers. And people are tired of playing their stupid rebate game. SPRINT SUCKS.

It's a double edge sword. I remember people complaining about each case that HTC puts out. It was either, too cheap, not the right material, it caused the phone to fall out, it's too bulky... the list goes on. I'm glad they took out the case, for now people have one less thing to complain about.

People wanted removable storage, they have it vs built in storage, as well as a removable batter, an amazing keyboard, and a WVGA screen, which I think (cont).

Makes up for quite a bit of the cost. The screens are really expensive, as well as the keyboard part. Which is well lit and very well manufacturered.

The rebate is not all that bad. I managed to get every rebate when I follow the rules. Some people will just procrastinate and it's their fault for doing so. I also believe that sprint isn't bleeding customers. They are getting fantastic plan deals and giving more bang for the dollar. $99 for everything or the mobile to mobile deal are (cont.)

...are fantastic. Vs AT&T spotty coverage for almost 1.5x more, excluding texting, gps and all that other jazz. Verizon is on the same pricing scheme, but bloating the reliability of the coverage per dollar, thus hiking it up.

I really believe that sprint is losing customers, because they didn't have the handsets that people wanted. Everyone really wants an iPhone or a HD2. Sprint doesn't have it yet, and people are flocking to carriers who have it. (cont)

This is hilarious how everyone is defending there carrier and phones, but being open minded, iphone revolutionized the mobile game bigtime and is a major reason why so many great phones are being put out now. I would never get pimped by apple or at&t so not going that route . Iphone is a amazing device, revolutionary for the mobile market, iphone has not changed much in terms of UI in 3 years so i would prefer the new HTC HERO... we just got one at BBuy and its a beast of a phone, email support is really good and UI(sense UI from HTC) is amazing... TOUCH PRO 2 is much better with 6.5 but still has a ways to go

ha ha touch pro 2 is better and no it does not have ways to go has it has all the great important features already. Also HTC Hero sucks has you can't save apps to a microSD card you must store them on the phone's shared internal memory which is lame what you expect from a Google Android system. For me I never want go for Google has they are new to the mobile market. Windows Mobile is still the best look at 6.5 it robust and fast.

Yup. Google 'smartphones from 2006', then Google 'smartphones from 2008' (after the iPhone came out), most of them look just like the iPhone.
