did you know that all those churches were built right on top of the templesbuilt by the Quitus. That was a common practice by spaniards in south america.

New Years Eve in Ecuador ROCKS!!! =] is basically Holloween to us. =] We dress up, usually as Widows because its our celebration to the year ending. In a way we say good bye to the year in a way of the year actually dying. The year that is dying is in sense a character for which we make a dummy that represents the year. Usually we make the dummy related to something bad that happened that year and is our ritual of letting go and starting again for a new year. At 12 pm we burn the dummy! =]
