President Obama cut the pay of US soldiers and is now proposing they pay their own health insurance. We should be supporting our troops who risk their lives for this country, not these greedy public-union sleezeballs. Stop thinking about yourselves and grow up!
Why don't you lazy butts go back to work like the rest of the working class Wisconsin people that don't have benefits like you little rich idiots. Hey Hey, Ho Ho, why don't u go back to work.
The behavior of these protesters is disgraceful. The concessions the union workers were asked to make were extremely MODEST!!!! They're acting like Walker is killing their first-born children!
Scott Walker's reforms are working! Keep it up Gov!
The AC was not just for the activities for the following day...it was also for the anniversary dinner. All employees (including the disabled) work in 90+ temps everyday. It is worse on second shift, cuz they are working at a faster pace and when temps are at their highest. On 90 degree days it feels over 100 degrees in there. Why couldn't they have installed permanent AC? Ppl do work slower when it is hot, cuz they believe they shouldn't have 2 work their butts off for min. wage in the heat!
"petition the Government for a redress of grievances" = blowing horns, banging on buildings, defacing buildings, ringing cowbells, writing fake doc notes, deputizing children into political service, hijacking a special olympics tribute, supporting legislators going AWOL, lying about unions conceding while they push through new contracts..................................................
I forget where I read this but I remember something about "petition the Government for a redress of grievances" and how it is kinda super important or something?
@mrgweilo- since we seem to be having a friendly honest exchange (unlike much if what has been exchanged online) I will be honest. What I mainly saw there was venting. People are upset and feel as if they're not being heard. I heard some ugly stuff that will likely work counter to recalling the governor. That may feel good but people in the center will likely be turned off and the political center decide elections. I was there because of cuts to programs that benefit disabled persons.
Again, nearly every protester there was protesting the governor just as we do at every public appearance he makes with adequate notice. The only sign I saw there mentioning opportunities inc was attached to a gentleman whom works there. Of course protesters wouldn't be there for Doyle- we were there for Walker. I love tacos but if he appeared at a taco stand I would protest there as well.
Interesting clarification, lgingras. I see one sticky point in that the video claims to interview a disgruntled worker there who was part of the protest. To be sure, I would love to hear from parents of some of the workers with disabilities. It might be a good thing a stressed out mom/parent of one of the workers didn't get in the face of the unionista protesters hijacking the event. I wonder if Doyle made any appearances there and whether the protesters would have been making the same noise.
Regarding the AC: The AC was used that night and it is not there for their normal working hours on a daily basis. The people there were not all union but were all there to protest the governor. We were not there the day before nor the day after. This governor can show up for as many photo opportunities as he would like but the fact is that his budget cuts negatively affect our states vulnerable citizens. Removing full legislative oversight from DHS hurts disabled persons.
GET THE FACTS-the AC was for the following day. There were about 300 people with disabilities invited to a luncheon and tour and THEY needed the AC! Stop spreading lies and get the facts. If you would have called Opportunities for the facts, the would have told you. But you are all about lies anyway.....
I'd say the renting of AC for a special occasion seems lame. But it might be worth noting the capitol just got AC recently. Although most of the signage at the protest seems to just be garden variety (at this point) unionista "Solidarity!" and other platitudes. Banging on buildings along with incessant shouting adds up to more negative publicity for the "movement"...the insensitive/counterproductive posturing in front of special olympians on the capitol grounds being another fine example.
NO, the GUESTS paid for everything. We are WORKING people who support this company and their mission to assist disabled and challenged individuals with finding and being successful in a job so they aren't dependent on the government. But liberals would rather have them sitting at home waiting for a government check in the mail.....
Good video footage. I was in the band, so I got to go inside. Once Walker got there(45 min. late), we were politely asked to stay in our seats and try not to walk around too much until he left. The guy must be scared out of his mind if he can't even trust a room full of "his people". The band didn't even clap for the guy. We just sat there quietly, it was a paying gig after all. Glad to see the protesters were peaceful. The lady banged on the building too early to interrupt Walker.

Ok..imagining this clip made no criticisms of opp inc for a moment, you will take this tone deaf approach to every event he attends. Brilliant.
