I can't believe some of the stuff I read here. It's obvious the guy can't win either way. If he doesn't change it up the haters will say he has fallen into a stale rut and all his stuff sounds the same- no growth, no maturity. If he does change, the haters will say he's "lost the magic" or "sold out" or cry for the "old JBT". Sometimes I wish this site didn't have a comments section, but even idiots and jackasses can be entertaining at times.

It's sad to see an artist fall into the web of radio songs. this is what this album speaks to me when i listen to it. Fortunately, this song exists in this record and i can't stop listening. It reminds me the "old" John Butler! Although the album is weak, i still love to ear the other albums and pray that the next will return John to the people! Peace

The CD is amazing from start to finish. Every artist experiments and evolves. I still can't figure out why everyone is so butt hurt over it. Who cares if the CD will get more commercial appeal. It's a great CD, just like their others.

you all should not worry. yes this album is vastly different, but it is also good for very different reasons. Also, I saw them live in LA last friday, it was incredible, and the songs of the new album absolutely sound amazing live. Have no worries.

i was very skeptical about this album when it came out as well. but shit guys. john butler doesnt sell out. look at the man. he is peace. thats what he stands for. emotion and music. this is a very good album. imagine his live performances. this is what he does and we cant take him down for that. this is still our favorite hippie from cali/austrailia. just enjoy mr butlers music frieinds.

I think it's because they broke up in March 2009. It's completely different without S. Birchall and M. Barker. And to be honest: The JBT last album is a piece of shit. To simple for JBT !

John Butler wrote a song called "Money" (album "Three"), against the money in general... but April Uprising was written only for money purpose ! It's sad to become what you were criticizing...

I hope next album will be more "JBT Style" instead of this kind of commercial crap for non-musician people.

finally a song on the album that sounds like john butler. I obviously love when there is growth of the artist and no two albums should sound the same. But this album overall from what I have heard is almost too commercial for me, a little overkill. The rawness is kinda gone which is what I loved about this band. I mean I still am so pumped to see them live but I hope the other songs grow on me more (I assume they will). I hope the pop mainstream sound of this album gets them more recognion.
