The whole purpose behind the use of tasers is PAIN COMPLIANCE and to create an environment of fear of the COLOR OF LAW, so that anytime some dickwad in a uniform is talking to you, you will comply with anything they say out of fear of torture.

The cop in the second video should get a medal. He retains authority while explaining the situation to both men. When one of them resists, the cop tasers him.
Perfect use of the new technology but I fear it will be abused by lesser cops.
The suspect in the third video looked to be either starting to run or going for the driver's door. In either case, tasing the suspect would be justified, since the Officer doesn't know whether or not there's a weapon in the vehicle. In the case of the Suspect running, the Taser is justified to be used to prevent the suspect from escaping custody.
The officer in the third video definitely did NOT give enough verbal warning before using his Taser. It's probably the only Taser video I've seen so far where the officer in question acted inappropriately or too quickly with a Taser.
That cop put both of their lives in danger. Look at him in the middle of the road - what a doofus. He's trying to reason with a drunk! How on earth does he expect him to understand?
The police force may be there to serve and protect, but there is also such a thing as officer safety. They are putting their lives in the line every day to uphold the law, and they sure as hell aren't gonna be victims of the law-breakers.

The Ohio trooper should have been able to physically restrain that smaller man and cuff him. Look how big that Ohio trooper is. I could tell the suspect was drunk, but really wasn't that much of a threat.

This cop was perfectly justified and was not nasty about it. He told the guy over and over to cooperate. Nothing to do with hate or barking. he is allowed to keep doing it until the man stops resisting. its not excessive force unless it is unnecessary to keep the situation under control, like shooting the man or beating him to get him to cooperate.

The cop in the second video should get a medal. He retains authority while explaining the situation to both men. When one of them resists, the cop tasers him.
Perfect use of the new technology but I fear it will be abused by lesser cops.

The suspect in the third video looked to be either starting to run or going for the driver's door. In either case, tasing the suspect would be justified, since the Officer doesn't know whether or not there's a weapon in the vehicle. In the case of the Suspect running, the Taser is justified to be used to prevent the suspect from escaping custody.

The suspect was resisting arrest with violence, trust me, a taser is much better than pepper spray or a baton.
This trooper is out in the sticks by himself, why would he risk a hand to hand fight where the suspect could get his gun?

The officer in the third video definitely did NOT give enough verbal warning before using his Taser. It's probably the only Taser video I've seen so far where the officer in question acted inappropriately or too quickly with a Taser.

The police force may be there to serve and protect, but there is also such a thing as officer safety. They are putting their lives in the line every day to uphold the law, and they sure as hell aren't gonna be victims of the law-breakers.

The Ohio trooper should have been able to physically restrain that smaller man and cuff him. Look how big that Ohio trooper is. I could tell the suspect was drunk, but really wasn't that much of a threat.

I still disagree the tazer gun is abused and should still be banned. I take my comment back about the pepper spray/mace seems alot better than getting hit with that Taser gun that could kill ya.

James, no disrespect to you, but its' electrical current(amps)that kills, not the voltage (volts). The taser pain lasts less than a minute, Mace?????? Are you kidding? That and pepper spray linger for a long stretch. The tazer is far better than billie clubs and bullets. - Peace out.

This cop was perfectly justified and was not nasty about it. He told the guy over and over to cooperate. Nothing to do with hate or barking. The drunk was trying to get back in his truck to drive off. Had the cop let him drive off and the drunk later kills someone, then we'd be screaming how negligent the cop was! He was doing his job....protecting the rest of us :)
