HEy Amanda, my name is Michael. I have a 10 mo american Akita and recently took him into backcountry-like land. He was so into sniffing that for hours, I literally did not exist unless I demanded his attention- though I was at the end of the leash the whole time. I will be getting him involved in volunteer SAR asap, but am wondering what I can do to start training him to seek and find.

That is pretty cool! How long does it usually take him to find someone? It seems like 3 and a half minutes is pretty fast!!
