It's not stealing to download a copy of something which has already been payed for, and it is only available because someone who already payed for it is sharing it with others. I don't give a damn what the laws are, intellectual property my ass. If it's been paid for at all, what people do with it (so long as they're not trying to make a profit off of it somehow) is up to them.
SOPA/PIPA/ACTA and all anti-pirate bills all propose methods that are so broad it would be like using a medieval broad-sword to surgically remove a tumor.

I actually used it. Ironically: I always bought REAL copies of the things I discovered while pirating not (just) because stealing is wrong, but to support the artists.
Living on pennies pay check to pay check, and getting the BARE MINIMAL of entertainment... makes sense to know.

I have to disagree with one statement. We are not powerless. I have been recommending that when people contact their congressmen they point out that the job they hold is, at best a temp job and we can take it away from them at the ballot box. That is the one thing that contributors and lobbyists can't guarantee with their contributions. Reelection!
