Foreman and Liston were unsophisticated sluggers. Frazier was a linear fighter and Norton was just plain crap. The so-called golden era existed by fighters united by their flaws.

@jerjerjer3 I humbly disagree. I think even against the quality competition he fought early (so called "bums"), you can still see he was an exceptionally talented fighter. I think he still has the record for the youngest undisputed champ ever.
I just think he didn't have the inner strength (heart) to match the skills and talents he had when he was young. Lennox Lewis and Holyfield were really tough champs like Tyson, and he didn't deal well with that pressure. He lost his peek a boo coach too.
