  • Il miglior Kalaf di sempre.

  • Corelli was without doubt one of the world's great tenors. Yet his voice has something of the sandpaper in a manicure set, whereas Bjorling's was, while still powerful and dramatic, more akin to the soft rubber pad used to polish nails after using the sandpaper. Also, Corelli tends to reach his high notes by sliding up to them in stages. He just does not have Bjorling's panache and attack. Sorry to Corelli and all his supporters - Bjorling remains for me the greatest tenor ever heard.

True, for all Corellis greatness his technique was not perfect, probably as a result of his distrust in voice coaches. Other than his power and range, Björling had a nearly even tone across the entire register, very unusual indeed and this surely earns him the first place ahead of even Caruso. Had he not died in September '60 he would have recorded Othello, what a shame.

Troppo nasale Bjorling, esprime poco sentimento.

  • There are many singers who can sing this aria very well, but Franco is the best one!

  • I listened to the great tenors doing Nessun Dorma--Placido Domingo, Pavarotti, Carreras, and Corelli--one after the other. Corelli is the best. And with his movie star good looks, he is believable in the role, as well.

  • El mejor Calaf de toda la historia y el mejor tenor Dramático Spinto que ha existido
