@VainX : It wasn't picking up anymore new players with much speed as it did when the game was so high in demand to be brought over to the U.S. by fan request. I fought hard to keep the game alive and try to have it coexist with MvC3, but it really just ended up as a prelude to MvC3 in a few gameplay similarities and afterthoughts. Things that did and didn't work in TvC were taken note of by Capcom (they won't admit it, but I'm not hating) and we now have the MvC3 it is today.
@Treefyleaf It definitely had something to do with that. Capcom shot itself in the foot by releasing it on just the wii. The wii was simply not meant for this kind of game. They could have easily found the casual and hardcore audience on the other major platforms.
@ANGRYROBOT616 I'm thinking Tatsunoko may have had a say in that. Possibly Nintendo, too. Something like this seems like it would be a great deal more geared towards a younger audience: bright colors, flashing and crazy effects, a vast variety of whacky characters....and I don't think you have people getting run through with swords, beaten to death, crushed, and shot in the kind of ways we see in MvC3. Still bothers me; I wanted to give this game a go. :(
@ANGRYROBOT616 Dude, if you think about it, why the heck does PS3/360 need this game? They have Street Fighter 4 (don't care that it went to the 3DS), MvC3, and now Soul Calibur 5. Thanks to these games, the odds of TvC creating ANY effect to these systems are slim to none. Remember, Tatsunoko characters are mainly Japanese-based. XBox 360 players will be puzzled by this and the only other system that COULD support this is PS3 since PSX did support Tatsunoko Fight.
@ARodYankFan You can say the same for many games on either one of those platforms. I'm sure that the audience wouldn't be any where near the size of those games, that is the painful truth that I'm sure Capcom wasn't in the dark about but considering that wii has online that is not up to par with this generation, it could have at least built a nice cult following on the other platforms. I guess TvC is just one of those game that was never meant to sell well.
@RoyalFlush Also, it kinda bothers me that MvC3 isn't as colorful as this game...or even MvC2 way back in the day. Things feel a bit more low-key in the craziness department overall, as if Capcom either didn't have the resources (or the game systems didn't have the resources) or no drive to actually make the game...I guess the word I'm looking for is 'flashy'.
It's good you understand Tatsunoko is an experimental version of Marvel 3, albeit the latter only made it for kiddy home consoles. The omission of Perfect when you get one helps to prevent those kindergarten kids and pro pro pros alike from committing suicide or group suicide from the comfort of their own homes.
@VainX It would have been bigger had it come out for 360 and ps3. I for one never got to play this game simply because I don't have a Wii and was not picking up a system for one game.
Me personally woulda gladly picked this game up had it come out on one of the other systems. So basically the game didn't have the biggest player base. I honestly think they fucked up not releasing it on all consoles.
@VainX Kind of hard for this game to flourish as a Wii exclusive. I liked it, but I'm not buying a freaking Wii, and a stick for the Wii for one game. Had this game been multiconsole it would have exploded.
@DevilAkuma123 Of course not. Do you honestly think I would train a whole year just to give it up to a kid? He knew when to go for the deadly blow to a team at the right time -- this is why he is good. Some people fail to see this ;(
J.Wong uses my all time favorite characters!? Yatterman-1 and Chun li!? *_* beautiful switch between Yatterman-1 with Chun li! So freakin' awesome, but I respect the both of you. Watching this fight has gotten me so hyped up!
I only like using Polimar with Ippatsuman and V.Joe, respectively. I used V.Joe because I think he is faster offense and better runaway tools than Ippatsuman, which is why I switch between the two in case I don't like how I'm playing.
Yes, I did... Against Kurasa (who was my last opponent). It was streamed, but I have yet to see the footage of the match. I lost 2-1, but the third match was a matter of how landed the first chip hit... Polimar not good at inflicting chip damage compared to Chun-Li.
@FfantasyF some attacks are called *pokes* because the best way to use them is not in combos but just ocassionally. Pokes are attacks with very good priority and range. So a poke game means that a certain character is using pokes because that character's got some good pokes and use them ocassionally just to deal some damage when it's hard to approach and land big combos.
@FfantasyF pretty sure it's using light attack's to work on sum1's guard or play mind game's...don't play Chun li but it looks like her 2A work's as some sort of frame trap
Too many players are too stubborn to pick up the game solely because it's on the Wii. Those who do play, while dedicated, are few in numbers. Furthermore, there aren't that many areas in the U.S. where this is an active scene for the game. SoCal TvC is fairly active, and I know there are a few others scenes in the Midwest and NYC.
@RoyalFlush Oh.. I see. I thought this game is not out on game console yet because I haven't seen many clips of it. It's a shame that it's not on PS3 or Xbox. I enjoy watching this kind of game but I am so tired of watching Marvel.. that game is just too old.
marvel vs capcom 3 sucks, tvsc for ever

@VainX It's also on the Wii, the standard controller didn't give much more then 2or so buttons.
That's also why X-Box and PS3 lead in fighting games because of the variability in buttons and such.
Also I tried palying online with the Wii(Mario Kart), it was horrible.
ChikoWhat 2 months ago
@ChikoWhat you can use a gamecube controller or classic controller with it. or even a fight stick. or (with a converter) a ps2 controller.

@ChikoWhat
You actually use the Wii-mote?
The first day I got the Wii, I immediately used my Gamecube controllers.
Never again touched the motion controllers.
Well, my sister uses them, I guess.
