@frankydman I dont actually speak much german myself but you can do a search for english to german translators and they will also do german to english. Just run any german sentence through a translator and it will translate it for you.
"einkaufen" , but germans are used to the english term:P if you knew how many english words germans are using, english and german people would be the best friends:D
Wrong - colour of wwII soldiers is grey, not green. Seem's something is wrong with your facts :-) Policeofficiers wear green after wwII, now blue unlike everywhere in europe.
I am not sure if it is a hidden bit of Monty Python irony, but the South Tirol (Bolzano/Bozen) is an autonomous region in Northern Italy and not part of the Austrian Tirol Bundesland.
Italy annexed the South Tirol from Austria in 1919 after WW1. After some political issues it was given autonomous status in 1972, but a movement to return the region to Austria still continues to this day.
I saw "And now for something clompeletely different" - But I think I saw this song on English.... Or didn't I? ... Errr... Anyway NICE SONG! Monty Python rocks!
Well, "border police" means like the police you would meet crossing from one country into another. You may be right. But my point was that they were just wearing some sort of ordinary police uniform, and it had nothing to do with Nazis !!
In the original version they wear Canadian Mounted Police ("Mounties") uniforms.
The german version is good, though i gotta say, it lost something in translation, or maybe it's just the music not being there behind it. and being able to speak both german and english, it bothers me that they didn't translate it correctly. oh well... i'm sure it was just to make it flow better. but i still love british comedy, but esp and most of all (of course) monty python.
I find that apart from the word "shopping" in stead of "einkaufen" there were few losses in translation. The "little girlie just like my uncle Walter" is actually an improvement.

Heh, it never occurred to me how well this would translate into a German setting as well as German language.
Of course, those of you native Germans out there are free to disagree, because I don't speak quite enough German to comment on the translation...
