This games awesome, I just hate that the end ae fights your 90% reliant on luck, Guts will save your life 60% of the time(Guts let you retain 3-4 hp if u were going to die no mata how much hp u had) making it near impossible to wipe your party and if you happen to lose 1 or 2 people, you can just use a rez item. Every single move end game boss's used on my party one hit everybody by like tenfold but it didint matter

@comicguitar. This game requires a lot of grinding and skill management. It is amazing, but far from being fluid. Don´t rush it, you´ll need some 200 hrs to finish it.

The playstyle can be a bit draconian in that you have only a certain amount of "days" to do everything in, but you're out to prepare for Ragnarok, so it's understandable. Few games have effected me as much as VP did :)

It's not like a "You have 10 minutes to kill everything" time limit. You've got "time periods" that are kind of like charges, where you can spend 1 (for towns) or 2 (for dungeons) in order to adventure there.

Monsters typically don't respawn, so you have to ration it responsibly in order to get everything done. It's not really that hard once you get the hang of it..

There's the prequel/second game for the PS2, but Lenneth (only PSP/PSX) should be played before Silmeria to avoid epic spoiling.

I love this game, one of my favourite rpgs. But 1 THING is totally fucked up, and that is the guts and auto item skills in bs. It totally destroys the balance of difficulty. I mean some enemies are totally impossible to defeat without those skills but when you put them on on all chars, those battles are nothing. Those skills ruined the ending part of the game for me, thank god they put them off in the sequel.

Though it may not be 3D, Lenneth has some SPECTACULAR pixel renderings. tri-Ace knows what they are doing when it comes to Pixel Renderings. Sure, they are good at 3-D too.. but I love their old school graphics.

Monolith in my opinion made some really decent RPGs on the DS, Soma Bringer for DS is very good, it have a very basic storyline, no "saint" shit, and the gameplay is in 2.9D (almost 3D, i guess is made in 3D but then compressed as 2D graphics), as ppl say: Some Bringer is like Diablo on DS with a different story
