  • @Iconius1

You are a simpleton my good man. A real dummy.

  • @pfpollock I'm not "your good man", there is only one dummy in the interchange, it is you.... I'll bet you didn't finish high school, have no meaningful relationships with the opposite sex, your family members or any intellectuals... and perhaps with members of the vertabrates.... you cretin!

  • ir's Roy Clark soungs!

  • Take it away! ... it is Elvis Costello!

  • Hey guys....Yesterday when I was young was by "Charles Aznavour"

  • This is a song of Charles Aznavous, so it's nothing to do with Costello...

  • Yesterday when I was young So many drinking songs were waiting to be sung,I like this word !^£^

  • this obviously isnt elvis...

  • fuck the where is elvis

  • this song is for Roy Clark

  • no its not

  • Gr8 job thanks I love it.

  • That's not Elvis.

  • This is NOT Elvis! It is ROY CLARK! Duh!

  • Who the fuck are u tobsay the govt. Murdered ppl around around 9/11 we were attacked the government had nothing to do with it

  • This reminds me of the lies the American gov told their citizens when they murdered their own people and their own soldiers on and around 9/11.

Elvis or Roy doesnt matter when you are brainwashed

  • is he elvis?

  • That is not Elvis! Funny someone would think it is That is the great Roy Clark.

  • doesn't sound like Elvis

  • well a black sound from white person which can tease ur heart

  • Isso é uma sacanagem. Roy Clark canta e as fotos são do Elvis. Alô Youtube, que tal deletar isso?

  • THIS IS NOT eLVIS

  • @videokeking2009 r U a moron read the comments before u comment

  • remember now thy creator when the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when tho shalt say, "I have no pleasure in them"

  • this is not elvis singing whats up

  • It's too bad you have received many critical comments! It appears listeners don't have the common sense to figure out the tribute to Elvis - using the song "Yesterday" as sung by Roy Clark. You did an Excellent job. The photos of Elvis are Great! It makes us see how sad it was that Elvis's life went by so quickly. The song can truly be sung for Elvis. The photos fit well with the tune. Thanks for posting it. I enjoyed the memories.

  • @poetrywriter

Thanks a lot! You made my day since so many have been critical and just plain dumb.I never intended to give people the wrong idea. This little video is just what you say it is, a tribute with a song I felt fit his life.

    Thanks again for the note!

  • @pfpollock You are Very welcome! Keep up the good work! :-)

  • @poetrywriter Perhaps the title should read "Tribute to Elvis" or something to that effect?

  • @poetrywriter And so what is your name idiot??? It says Elvis! There is no mention of any othber name!"

Maybe you are also an illegal alien Like Obama???"

  • @poetrywriter

    thank you !

  • @poetrywriter The only "common sense" involved in the discernment of this video is the obvious intent to deceive.... If indeed a tribute, it would be posted as such, only a fraud and moron labels it as "Elvis". This "Goober" should back and edit the video in his video manager to define it as a "Tribute to Elvis" instead of leaving the fradulent label !

  • Pretty good video, could of been 100 times better had you left red west and his creepy friends out of it !! Loving ELVIS PRESLEY till my end...

  • This is appalling ... listen to the original by Charles Aznavour, he doesn't swing it into a waltz either

  • That's Roy Clark

  • ORIGIN ROY CLARK!!!!

  • THIS IS NOT JOHN LENNON!

    ROFL!

  • not elvis lan salak

  • are you sure this is Elvis?

  • Sang By Roy Clark.

  • age doesn't matter...... how you live your life is...... spend our time as if it is the final second of living... enjoy life to the fullest every millisecond of it..... be happy : > )

  • boy elvis sure sounds like roy clark on this-may be he has a bad cold

  • this is Roy Clark witch moron did this???

  • Hey guys, this is Roy Clark definitely!

  • I APPLAUD you for taking the time to add Elvis photos to this audio of Roy Clark singing his hit song "Yesterday When I Was Young".

Man, why ao all these people become "serial critics"?

The pictures were your choice and you made the video so you can title it what you want.

Don't let the words of a few overtake your intent.

    THANK YOU for posting this.

Take care and may God bless you.

  • Wow - I never knew Elvis could sound like this.

Not bad but I prefer his normal voice.

  • elvis costello sounds just like roy clark :)

but why do you have all those excellent photos of elvis presley? itsa mighty fine video, thank you :)

  • This is Roy Clark... Not Elvis! Only the pictures are of Elvis.

  • How many times indeed.................

Besides, nobody can sing Yesterday like the great Roy Clark.

Good tribute friend - good song and two of our greatest singers ever!

  • Thats Roy Clark alright ! all the same they're both great singers.

  • It's okay, Roy Clark is a great performer.

  • great..♥

  • got to say never heard this song b4 but glad i landed here thinking it was Elvis singing Yesterday ... so poignant to Elvis and the vid compliments this luvly great job i will listen to this a few more times thnsks

  • this is CHARLES AZNAVOUR song by the way (Hier Encore)

  • This song is one of those that brings back great memories and breaks your heart at the same time...

  • who the hell is this singer title misleading

  • Roy Clark sang this song at Mickey Mantles funeral. Long before he died The Mick thought the song reflected his life after baseball. You could also associate this song with Evis and his short life.

  • ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥!!!!!!

  • This is not a tribute to Costello.

  • @geribaldo1970

Why would anyone do a tribute for Costello?

  • @geribaldo1970 because everybody loved Abbott, and Costello was left in the shadows !

  • @geribaldo1970

For all those that don't know. The singer is a young Roy Clark. Not Elvis. Sheesh Younguns.

  • Dear pfpollock,

Perhaps if you retitled the heading to, Ttribute Of Sorts To Elvis Sung By ______people wouldn't be confused.

  • @TonyC5330

I would if I knew how. I don't know how!

  • @pfpollock Thanks for the vid. Nice collection of photos! Don't let people hassle you over the title. It's your vid and you can name it whatever you want. Everything in the title is in the vid. Any real fan would already know that Elvis never ever recorded the song. (Sung here by Roy Clark, great version btw) thanks again for posting. Youtube is becoming too commercial because of all of us picking on each other. If we keep it up, we will only be able to see 'official' anything.

  • @funkaliciously

Thanks a lot! I appreciate your note and happen to agree with you 100%! I think you are right also regarding YouTube becoming too commercial. Take care.

    P

  • @funkaliciously Well said.

  • This is Roy Clark--Why BS people?

  • this is not at all Elvis style or voice!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What a fabulous tribute - thank you :)

  • Nice one Great Song Great video I like ELVIS since i was a boy and still do.PEACE

  • "Who is this idiot?? It does not say 'Cover!'

  • Hey, Cool video and thats a great version of the song by RC. ...

  • this is roy clark

  • i LoVE THIS*****

  • It's damn good but it's not Presley. It's some other Elvis.

  • It really fits Elvis. R.I.P.

  • Thank you for Posting this....Melancholy wonderful song! This brings back memories of youth elvis and the beverly hillbillies . Thank you again

  • That's Roy Clark not Elvis

  • I KNOW this is not Elvis, I made the video. How many times do I have to explain. It is a tribute of sorts. It is a song that I think illustrates his life - and the life he could have had. I KNOW it is Roy Clark singing (see credits at end)!!! I am not trying to FOOL anybody. If you don't like it just move on. I don't need your comments revealing how ignorant you are.

  • @pfpollock NO this is NOT ELVIS!!! Get your facts straight!!! You ignorant person you!! LoL j/k

  • @pfpollock if it doesn't don't blame users that they don't understand, but change the title accordingly and respect the real singer please by indicating his name

  • @snursmumrik

I don't know how to change the title.

  • @pfpollock this isn't elvis......False advertising

  • @pfpollock

Very well put together and a great idea. What a song...aren't many like this one.

  • @pfpollock

thought it sounded like johnny mattis.

  • @pfpollock Awesome photos of Elvis and great song by Roy Clark.... put together ..... A whopping tear jerker! Thanks for posting it!

  • @fool4fishin Thanks for your comments - nice to hear from someone who "gets it!"

  • @pfpollock "Hier Encore" is a song released in 1964, written by Charles Aznavour and Georges Garvarentz. It was subsequently released in English (Yesterday When I Was Young), Italian (Ieri Si), and Spanish (Ayer Aún). It is considered one of Aznavour's greatest hits. The English-language lyrics were written by Herbert Kretzmer.

Your credits list Roy Clark as the writer...he didn't write this song...BUT it was a GREAT Tribute to the BEST entertainer ever.

  • @eddydean07 Thanks for setting the record straight People just don't seem interested in facts. I cant think of a cover I don't like with the eception of Kararoke . I wanted to write more but was limited . I know of no performer today that had the generosity of Elvis . Sometimes I feel every day of my age .but wont resort to American Idol or any reality TV . The world shows its age when people prefer to be entertained with lies than be bored with truth.

  • that is not elvis

    it is roy clark

    fake video

    stop making fake crap

  • America's great treasure Elvis Aaron Presley

We still miss and love him!!!

  • Actually Roy Clarke wrote and performed this.

  • Comment removed

  • I loved him dearly...and will always miss him. I would have loved for him to record this.

  • This is Roy Clark singing, not Elvis!!

  • This song sure fits the life that Elvis lived. It made me teary eyed.

  • @helimech60

Thanks! I am glad you "get it." I thought it fit him.

  • This is not Elvis!!!!

  • This is nothing ! Listen Charles Aznavour ! His version is perfect

  • C'est beau..mais je préfère la version de Charles Aznavour.

  • lawrencekane2000@yahoo.com

  • This is Roy Clark. not elvis

  • My God , yes... Elvis would have made it his own but Glen Campbell's version today IS the definitive version........cas

  • This may be a musical version of Elvis's life, but I really thought this was going to ba an Elvis version of this GREAT song. I wanted to mention, you should have used Roy Clarks original recording of this, his voice was much smoother, and seemed to have more emotion in the original version.

  • It's a shame that Elvis didn't recording. He would have OWNED it. his singing style would have been perfect for this song.

  • @Verdillac2

I agree - he would have nailed it.

    Thanks for the post.

  • I think you are right, it seems to fit Elvis's life - so many song that won't be sung! Thanks.

  • @ggma662

Thanks ggma662 - you "get it!"

  • Sarcastic? It's just an interpretation of his life through Roy Clark's song.

  • How is an introspective Roy Clark song a tribute to Elvis. You are an idiot. Stop trying to up your views by false labelling, and then trying to justify it with WEAK explanations. YOU SUCK!!!!

  • Dah, this is Roy Clark singing!

  • This is a Charles Aznavour song

  • @jeffkodiac here sings roy clark

  • Nice photos. Nice tribute. Good tune.

  • why is this movie called : Elvis - Yesterday When I Was Young , please if elvis is not singing dont call it like that you can better call it : Me singing - Yesterday When I Was Young because i was looking voor a video with elvis voice.

  • i thought this was gonna be elvis too but i love roy clark anyway

  • fool...

  • I loved the video. I love Roy Clarks version of the song. Together it was a winner in my book.

  • Heck, I'm 67 and this old woman was talking to herself. I said, "Self, did you know Elvis was a mimic? " It's a good effort but don't confuse an old lady like that!!

  • Yes - thank you Larisa - it is a tribute to Elvis, period. I did not mean to fake anyone with Roy Clark... it is simply a tribute - albeit somewhat sad - to Elvis. That's all.

  • It's a tribute to Elvis....

  • i am a bit mixed up this is not Elvis is it it dont sound like him at all .

  • I don't think this is Elvis Presley ... doesn't sound like him!!!

  • Could anybody tell me what is the title of the song which Elvis sang for the tiny little Hungary revolting against the huge Soviet Union in 1956?

  • 1944 AngelEyes:

It was not Elvis. Elvis' version was only a mediocre imitation compared to the performance of Roy Clark. The original was composed and sung by Charles Aznavour, the French composer/singer in 1961 and he was singing about his own life.

  • Beyond rude to insinuate that Elvis was going to sing this song. Shame on you, sugar!

  • We miss you Elvis

  • How can a fan of Elvis not hear that this is not him?

  • Comment removed

  • no one will ever be Elvis!

  • Più di cazzo!

I thought it was a video of ElviS sung this song, this is wrong should be written TRIBUTE TO ELVIS PRESLEY, Caspit!

  • A very beautiful song however this was not a tribute song to Elvis this was done by ROY CLARK when he was very young. Maybe he was singing of himself. SLVIS was not GOD nor did he ever even want the title of KING he said so too many times We gave him the title KING of rock and roll HEROD gave JESUS the title KING OF THE JEWS and ELVIS only recognized JESUS as the one and only KING . I agree wit ELVIS. Hugs Bobbie

  • thanks for a wonder video. I like your effort. Keep up the good work. Clark did a wonderful job on this song.

  • I listened to both the Aznavour and the Clark versions. Clark's is the BEST. I have several versions of it (Glen Campbell, Andy Williams, Eddy Arnold, Al Martino, Julio Iglesias, Dean Reed, Johnny Mathis - to mention a few). Clark's is still the best (for me anyway).

  • Have you tried Blossom Dearie's version?

Very different, but very nicely paying tribute to the beautiful melody.

  • It's a grave injustice to impute that Elvis had a mispent youth. Compared to the excesses of many a pop star, he was exceptionally decent and a worthy role model. A little mis-step here and there he might have committed but all in all he ain't bad, ain't bad at all.

  • @dimpledick3inch E did sing "Little Darlin'" ;)

  • Elvis never recorded this song ever look at the list of all the over 800 songs he recorded and this song is not one of them he did record the Beetles song "yesterday" but that is a different song.

  • Comment removed

  • if you want to call it a tribute then say its to Charles Azvanour-it is his song

  • Touche!!!!

Even though I love Roy Clark's original 45

RPM version, a Tribute should be called a Tribute. Charles Aznavour is the poet/composer.

I truly wish for Elvis's sake that you could have allowed your viewer's to see your good intentions up front.

The song fits for the KING! Good Effort.

    Alpha Centaury

  • @snubbydog hahaha, it was written and performed by Roy Clark, the guy you hear in this video. hahaha.

  • I have forgotten how beautiful Roy Clark's rendering of this song was unitil now. Thanks for the error (i was surfing Elvis songs) now i have this one in my favorite folder.

  • bad form. its roy clark

  • Hey vomit...err zomit - I KNOW it's Roy Clark. It's a tribute video for God sake.

When will you zeros figure this out?

  • You should label your video as Roy Clark doing Elvis, not Elvis.

  • That is Roy Clark .. Foolish to try to fool us :-)

  • What, in, you makes you assume the person posted the video to "fool"you? Sure it wasn´t an honest mistake?

    Mind comment on your impulse?

    What's lurking behind?

    Please comment. Thank you.

  • Why would I be assuming that ? How about the title:

Elvis - Yesterday When I was Young .

When you put a singer's name ( Elvis ) and a song title known by everyone in the world ( When I was Young ) most ppl over IQ 30 will assume the singer will sing that song.

Have you ever seen a MTV video, or Billboard listing of songs ? Hello ?

How about: Memories of Elvis - Yesterday when I was young ( Roy Clarke ) BETTER

Too many Youtube vids try to capture attention by using titles like this: misleading.

  • I have to agree here. The title is misleading. I was expecting an Elvis version here. Whether or not pfpollock intentionally misled to gain "hits" I can't say. But I agree, too many Youtubers abuse the technology by using trumped up titles to gain viewership. It's wrong and on some level unethical. Not to mention it goes to character.

  • Give me a break doc - I don't care who watches it. This was my first effort and it is simply a song that I felt spoke to the life of Elvis. Period.

  • Ok, how about a more appropriate title that isn't misleading? That's not too much to ask. So please, give me a break.

  • @Drydoc2

I disagree - YouTube has billons of videos, and if you were to pick at every little thing that irritates you, well you'd be long dead in your grave before you'd be done.YouTube is for everyone to enjoy and and if you're NOT enjoying a certain a video, move along.

"YouTube User Comments: Juvenile, aggressive, misspelled, sexist, homophobic, swinging from raging at the contents of a video to providing a pointlessly detailed description followed by a LOL"

  • @northernlights1013 I wish I knew what you were disagreeing with. It would seem that your reply to my comment doesn't have anything to do with my comment. Please elaborate.

  • WillDanceAlone2U: One more comment: Looking at your profile: You have nothing in your channel, no favs, nothing. Empty. Tha tells a lot. You logon to make stupid comments only. As they say: Get a life...

  • what is goin on here... that's elton john

  • It's definitely Roy Clark, but I would hardly call his version "mediocre."

The reference to Elvis is for the slideshow. I don't know if he ever recorded a cover of this song.

  • ROY CLARK

  • It says Roy Clark in the sidebar tags, but a little more honesty in the title bar would have been nice.

  • MISLEAD AGAIN(NORM)

  • I totally disagree that this song was an Elvis Presley reflecton. Elvis was one of the most genuine and generous celebrity ever. He was very giving to his family and friends. This song talked about selfishness and self centeredness which was definitely not Elvis. Long live the king.

  • this is roy clark... he always say "It seems the love I've known,

has always been the most destructive kind.

    I guess that's why now,

I feel so old before my time." ... other singer not say this..

  • oops..sorry but thats defenitely roy clark..

  • Comment removed

  • What kind of idiot would ever think this was Elvis Presley's voice?

This mediocre version of the song is being sung by Roy Clarke.

I see the half-baked justification for the title of this video below - and it is still ridiculous.

  • YOU have clearly not heard Lena Horne sing this song! Finally, you will say OH I get what this song
