  • The raw beauty of this song gets me a bit misty-eyed sometimes.

  • Sounds super beatlesy at 4:51

  • This song just reminds me of summer with my friends.

    Skating all day

    Laughing out the window

and swimming at Brandywine doing backflips off the rope swing.

This is my Happy song :)

  • @Shoes41192 keep him around

  • This reminds me a bit of The Walkmen

  • "Keep on with the living and you'll soon enough be dead" what a genius line.

  • @Gingersnaps39 its my senior quote!

  • BUT IIIIIIII HEARD THE GOOD LORDS WARNING!

    oh man... that part...

  • Lets have a ball and a bisket baby.

  • they have good songs, you just dont know about them haha

  • got a black keys feel to it

  • This...is...genius.

  • This album, and Fleet Foxes both came out in 2008.

Guess it was a good year for music.

  • DR. DOG IS ONE OF THE BEST BANDS OUT THERE WHY ARE PEOPLE LIKE KATY PERRY AND LADY GAGA FAMOUS WHEN DR. DOG EXISTS

  • @candycoveredpopcorn3 seriously there messed in te head;)

  • @candycoveredpopcorn3 Because the majority of the Earth's population is comprised of idiots

  • @candycoveredpopcorn3 People just have different musical tastes dude

  • @candycoveredpopcorn3 i enjoy lady gaga, tom waits, dr. dog and many others. you can like tons of artists at once. you don't have to like just a few. i do not care for katy perry much though! i loved amy winehouse (still do) when she was around. i like the old sound best. red hot chili peppers, the rolling stones. good stuff.

  • Keep on with the living you'll soon enough be dead

You got the whole world spinning in your head

and you don't want to give it up (don't give it up, don't give it up)

    This song is unpredictable brilliance!

The kinetic power of the latter half of the song is simply amazing.

  • Compare 4:27 of this song to 1:23 of The Shins' Saint Simon

  • cant wait to see them live :D

  • @anithero666 lucky!!! :)

  • I haven't been so captured by music like this in so long. These guys are truly remarkable to say the least.

  • seeing them again this sunday here in NYC. best.

  • Saw youze guyz at Bonnaroo!

  • @KingsMelody1to2 thats like someone hating ice cream because i notice others have discovered it. I think its great that they are good enough to be in a trailer for a popular movie.

  • @TheSashasquatch thats the first thing ive heard all day thats made a bit of sense.

  • his screeming midway kinda ruined it for me

  • Thats so cool how they incorporated their entire album into one song.

    Geniuses.

  • Psychedelic rock at it's best.

  • Just discovered this band. Amazing. Can't wait to see them May 15th in NYC.

  • Maybe this track, some of their others, straight folk

  • indieeee means it was independently produced. i cant stand that label for music. rock is whattt it is silly people. and labels be for cans anyway

  • @joealanouf

Good points. If a band is ever considered "indie," then they'll lost a huge fanbase once they start making money (which in a profession is just as important than being artistic).

I mean, I got into Dr. Dog because they sound good, not because of their lack of popularity.

  • @joealanouf

its a misnomer that stuck, deal with it.

  • I LOVE THE ENDING OF THIS SONG, the compiled versions and bits of songs from the rest of the album

  • I love this song!

  • is this indie?

  • I would call it more folk/soul

  • Thanks 4 the answer i just got in to indie so i cant really tell the diffrence yet (:

  • Catchy as fuck

  • @112345dc buy their cds then. duh. support this!

  • Took me a few minutes to track this song down. Good song. Bad movie (Funny People).

  • I haven't seen the movie but I don't think you should speak ill of a movie that have presented you its' sincere company. It was your choice to watch it, try to be happy with it and try to understand the movie on it's own premises.

  • @LogInAnders Sorry, Ghandi. It was my choice to watch it because I expected something better. I was wrong. I would certainly not deliberately choose to watch a bad movie.

  • @iwouldntknow1 What movie? Funny People? I liked that shit

  • that is retarded. im sure the major label produced funny people was trying to give sincere company rather than make money at box office and subsequent dvd sales.

  • (: Dr. Dog is the best. Awesome sound.

  • I love this because this band sounds a lot like classic rock bands like the beatles, t. rex, etc. while also giving a new unique sound.

  • seeing them on saturday!

  • recommended to me by a friend. I'm very fucking impressed.

  • wow, Beatles-- Sgt Pepper days-ish

  • Its a very good song, i like it, but the intro sounds like Wah Wah by George Harrison, just listen and compare

  • In the minds of many, they are.

  • I LUV THIS BANd

  • And why would that be?

    Because they're incredibly talented?

Because they've given us some of the most beautiful music in a long, long time?

    or because they're absolutely amazing?

    or all three? ;)

  • I don't want to, but now have to thank the commercial for funny people 'cause I love this band.

  • Same here

  • it has a beatles/elo vibe to it, I LOVE IT!!

  • The trailer for "Funny People" brought me here. And I now have a new favorite song.

  • Same

  • me too. it's an awesome upbeat song. i'm also really looking foward to the movie

  • Ditto

  • I Freakin LOVE that movie and I freakin LOVE Dr. Dog. Their music = my meds and I always get that prescription filled

  • @SoylentGreenISHUNGRY I knew these people before that, it makes me sad :(

  • sounds like Arcade Fire

  • totally what i was thinking

  • not really

  • this song is now on the TV commercial for the new movie trailer for "Funny People" with Seth Rogen and Adam Sandler that is coming out July 31. It's been on TV commercials starting last week!!

  • i tripped to this song about a month ago...its now forever ingrained into my personal memory. It has special meaning, but what a great song either way!

  • Fate is such an amazing tripping album.

  • I'm flat out in love with Dr. Dog...

This song, like most of their others is EXTREMELY well put together...

I was hooked on them as soon as I heard the intro to "My Old Ways"...

  • It didn't take much time for Dr Dog to make it in my top 5 band list. Refreshingly unique and pumped full of talent. I'm a sucker for three part harmonies, too.

  • @SecludedMemory aaah, the three part harmonies....
