  • its funny how Mr Darcy just appears out of nowhere next to his sis

  • umm i would be kinda freaked out if random people were touring my home..

  • Is there anyone else who's reaction would have been "WHY ARE YOU IN MY HOUSE?"

  • @Craziness714 the house is open for visitors (since it's like a work of art in itself)...

  • Part 9 of Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.

  • I guess everyone in England only knew how to play one song on the piano forte?!! haha!! I love the song though, it is beautiful!!!

  • They're so awkward. It's great!

  • i freaking LOOOOOOVE this movieeee!!!

  • 8:15-9:25..awkward!!! haha :)

  • I'm guessing the 8 dislikes are only because of the quality of the video.

  • Elizabeth spots Mr. Darcy

    Mr. Darcy spots Elizabeth

    Lizzy runs away

    Darcy follows

Elizabeth: "I'm so sorry for being in your house when you didn't invite me!"

Darcy: "Oh, it's no big deal people come in all the time, whenever they want."

  • why does elizabeth laugh at 3:20?

  • @Lissy818 i think it's because darcy s home is quite big so she s like OMG! lool kidding

  • @Lissy818 i bet she was thinking what a screwed up decision she made and was laughing at herself. She could have been living at the mansion instead of visiting. ;)

  • @Wishgirl198 Actually, you may not be all that off base. Many scholars believe that Mr. Darcy was based off of a man who was in love with Jane Austen, Tom Lefroy. Look him up on Wikipedia, or watch the movie "Becoming Jane".

  • 7 people clicked the wrong thing...those are the people who like twighlight over jane austens masterpiece. will they ever learn what real literature is?

  • if only there was a real mr darcy...id die over his awesomness!

  • They want each other soooo bad!

  • dear santa clause all i want for christmas is a Mr.Darcy not an Edward cullen r a Jacob Black but a Mr.Darcy Please ^.^ LOL =)Thumbs up if u agree=)

  • @hippylovenpeace

I would like to have an Elizabeth for Xmas Dear Santa. hippylovenpeace you and I have a slight gender difference lol

  • i LOVE THIS MOVIE! (:

  • I LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE THIS MOVIE!!!!! (:

  • Mr. Darcy is Jane Austen's imaginary boyfriend :)

  • A female writer, Jane Austen, created the male character. I'm afraid you'll never find a Mr. Darcy's character.

  • geez, imagine living in Pemberly id get lost

  • I LOVE Mr. Darcy!!! They look so cute together!

  • hahah i love her laugh at 3.22. genious

  • @killingbeastxx if you don't like it then don't watch.. we don't care if u think they're good or bad.. mind ur own bussiness.. oh and get a life..

  • @killingbeastxx bet you are one of those people who would prefer TWILIGHT over pride and prejudice...... this movie and book are far more superioir in english literature as compared to ..... wel you know :D

  • "I thought you were in London!"

    "No... No I'm not."

Understatement of of the year!! XD

  • I love lizzies hair its always done gorgeously and i want a house like that :):):)

  • I love lizzies hair its always done gorgeously

  • 5:05 Could.. Could I have that?

  • i once knew someone who looks just like mr darcy

at least his eyes and the way he look at me [used to]

every time i miss him a alywas watch this movie :)

  • Where can I buy that sculpture of Mr Darcy? <3

  • Is it me, or is the shadowy figure riding past the spot where Lizzie and her aunt and uncle stop for lunch actually Mr. Darcy heading home?

  • This book is wonderful, and Keira is a perfect Lizzy ^^

  • i love when she is standing on the cliff

  • Oh Lizzie, little do you know that all you see before you, is to be yours in the near future.

  • I wish there were still some mr Darciy s out there, The only thing that the modern guys know about love is watching porn videos 24h of day

  • lizzy, you are one lucky b****!!! (all my love :D)

  • I LOVE love love 1:20 - 1:53!!!!!!!! this version is by far the best yet!!!

  • its kinda weird how they go to peoples houses and look around!

  • @786sheesha786 it was a sight scene at that part of the country!!!

  • this movie relates the story so fast! it doesn't give time to the viewers to see the changes of mind elizabeth has concerning darcy. it goes to fast.

  • i love mr. darcyyyy!! <3

  • is the storyline a bit altered from the book?

  • @emilydbsk

a bit, try a lot... if you want a more accurate versian then check out the 1995 Pride and Prejudice...

  • the scenery (the rocks, the dear) , the house (Darcy's at Pemberly...which i think looks like Versaille on the outside), the music Gor.geous. my favorite movie ever. it annoys the heck out of my sisters :P can't help it though!

  • i love the book and the movie they are really really really good!!!!!!

  • DAMNN MASIONS BACK THENN WHERE LIKE THE MALLS NOW ahahaha lol

  • What's the name of the song being played when Elizabeth is erm....dreaming.

  • @BabyDe111

I think its "one mans Dream" ...

  • oh just imagine what lizzy felt in finding her self in Mr.Darcy's house..... ohhhhhh so beautiful <3

  • 3:25 love her nervous laugh!!

  • It's so hard trying not to forget the fact that I want to find my Mr. Darcy, too.

  • gosh , the 1995 version is better but im trying to watch this version and it is soooo different!!!!!i will be kind as to say it is not all that bad.

  • OH DARCY. Why must you torment us real girls with your fictional-ness.

  • @dontreallycare3

    YES I AGREE

  • that statue scene reminds me of the little mermaid, very sweet :)

  • It must have been excruciating for Mr. Darcy to see Lizzie again. My heart hurts for him

  • i love the song playing at 1:28!

does anyone know the title of it and is it on the soundtrack?

  • @Bb0yZ3r0 it actually starts at around the 1:00 minute mark, it's called "Liz on Top of the World," if I remember right?

  • mr darcy always has a sad farway look on his faace

  • 7:30 This is one of the scenes I totally dislike in this version: Elizabeth, always conscious about the rules of society and politeness would never sneak up to anybody so uncivilly in their own home.

  • This movie lacks character....except gloss

  • I think its much better than BBC and this is the best Mr darcy..God i love him..

  • was lizzy laughing cuz of his big house 3:19

  • @pinoy600 i think she laughed at herself: at the things she might have but rejected from.

  • We need this time period back again!!!!!

  • AHHHHHH

EVERYONE says the BBC is better than this one but it ISNT

Following of the book is not all that makes a film enjoyable! Jeez, the BBC, i my opinion, just lacked the romanticism and grace that this movie did. I'm willing to sacrifice a few plot step ups and stuff for a well done movie with good acting.

  • here is more romantic but less Austen!!

  • I SOOO agree i didn't really like the BBC one as much and even if the plot has changed a bit i think the characters are much better in this one and i didn't find the BBC one romantic at all!

  • I really admire the architecture and decor. Even though it maybe centuries old, it would have been heavenly to live in a place like that.

  • u go that rite!

  • Comment removed

  • oh lizzy. yur hurting him

  • witch is the old one?

  • BBC 1995 version, with Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle which in my opinion is better, and much more faithful to the book.

  • i love him.....

  • MR DARCY I'M IN LOVE WITH UUUUUU!!!

  • very true i love him to lol

  • @zhanghanfan A female writer, Jane Austen, created the male character. I'm afraid you'll never find a Mr. Darcy's character.

  • i like this pride and prejudice better than the old one.

  • I've watched four versions of p and p, and all of them have their good points. While a couple of them are closer to the book, if you watch just for a good movie, then this one is great.

  • "... or carrriages that work!" lol love that aunt

  • "may i see you back to the village--" "NO!"

  • Ah, if only...but in this time a lady...a true lady is unquestionably extinct.

  • @Galreith Yes, and the times people could walk into other peoples mansions without being noticed by the owner is long gone....

  • not so...we still have that, we call them burgulars

  • lol

  • @Galreith lol thats a hilarious reply. so true. hahaha

  • "I'm in Derbyshire with my aunt and uncle."

"And are you having a pleasant trip?"

    "Very pleasant."

These two lovebirds r so cute!

  • Where can I find a Mr. Darcy?! I want one!!!!!!!

  • I think in our time. They are. undoubtely. Extinct. :)

  • @ChaoticMindSuly19 A true loss and a terrible shame!

  • @AspiringCellist92 there are plenty of Mr Darcy's out there - the money.

  • @AspiringCellist92 i concur i want a guy like mr darcy and mr knightnly put together

  • @AspiringCellist92 I think he has to find you. I know I can't wait for one to find me. :P

  • I love :58 and on. The music evokes a longing and is poignant. Love this movie. I ran out and bought it the day after I caught it on cable.

  • I totally agree on the music. Maybe its because I have the scene in mind but when I listen to it makes me think about my first girlfriend and how much I wanted her back (A long time ago). While I think the whole movie is a visual treat I think the music is fantastic. I listen to it when I want to relax :)

  • Mr. Darcy (at least in the book) was never this idk how to put it...like anxious. I like the BBC version much better but the newer movie is good too!

  • @mentalist007coldplay I believe it was actually somewhat hinted... only that Lizzy was deliberately oblivious to it... for obvious reasons. For example, THIS Darcy is much closer to what I imagined while reading the book, in terms of demanour ;)

  • y does elizabeth laugfh at 3:22 ?

  • she's like, " I can't believe this could have been mine!"

  • @171shootingstar i think she's laughing hysterically, like holy crap this could have been where i lived!"

  • 0:20 looks like the white version of Oprah Winfrey's face lol.

  • @Lolzatyourfacemoo Lawl!True:D

  • In the book, it was a portrait of Darcy Elizabeth gazed at, but I like that they used a bust of Darcy in the film. It draws a visual link with the Greek helmeted figure Lizzie looked at earlier - heroic, tragic pose + her gaze lingers on the naked chest and neck - then later she stares longingly at Darcy's bust - in a society where propriety is so important and everyone is so covered up, the use of the naked Grecian statues here really brings out the repressed sexuality of her feelings for him.

  • best movie - love it -

    thanks.

  • it gives me chills

just looking at how he looks at her.

  • i knw and he says trip weirdd lmao i love this movie!

  • is the scene at 1:29 ish a homage to the bbc version of pride and prejudice when elizabeth does the same thing?

maybe not, but it's certainly beautiful. :]

  • i liked the older version for being more true to the book, but i like the characters/actors of this on better, especially lizzie: she seens to be more rebbellious and playful in this one which i like:]

  • by the way, smallworldnomind is my husbands account on here.

  • I can't make my mind up of which one I like better. I like this one with Keira Knightly but I also like the one with Colin Firth in it. To me in this one the characters Elizabeth and Darcy showed more passion for eachother and in the 1995 one it hardly cut out anything.

  • The statue at 4:08, I believe in this movie serves as a symbolic representation of Lizzie herself. It is as if it is unfinished -- her identity and future destiny (as Darcy's wife) yet to be "unveiled" -- a work in progress.

Did anyone else receive a similar revelation?

  • churchmousie, thanks for the insight - yes, I agree. The veil cd also allude to Lizzie's love for Darcy which she is still hiding and denying.

  • the tree in this clip is amasing, i would put it in the center of my yard and dig a streem pass it....and of course Darcy under it... :)

  • I thought that Wickham tried to seduce Georgianna when she was 15... and that had happened a while before Elizabeth met Darcy? So shouldn't Georgianna be older?

  • "Last summer he came to visit us...I will not attempt to convey the depths of Georgianna's despair. She was 15 years old."

  • Um...Darcy said it happened "last summer". So it was probably only a year ago.

  • wow the 1995 pnp is sooooooo much better because you understand the story, characters and the scenes. This one has only a few scenes that are beautifully done....like the statue scene here everything else is so choppy....bleah..

  • i liked the 6 hr show better, but this is a great movie

  • The Gardeners' accents are completely wrong. Although they do live in Cheapside, they are still an upstanding family and would not sound so lower class. That, and Mr. Gardener is Mrs. Bennet's brother, and one sibling would not sound like he was from a completely different social level from the other.

  • "He's so rich!"

  • whhhhhy is he soooo hansommeee<3

  • keira's eyeslashes are so gorgeous

  • 9:01 he looks so sad!!! ;(

  • So cute!! :)

  • they can just go and look around someone's house back then?

  • if the house was well-known, i think.

  • oh lol

  • yeah.. its weird but for some reason it was the 'polite way' of showing off how rich you were..haha

  • Wherever Lizzie goes she always runs into mr darcy... i wish it was like that :)..

  • Those houses are beautiful, but they look so drafty! I'd be freezing, especially in those dresses and in that weather!

  • What an awkward conversation between lizzy and darcy.

  • I love when Lizzy is standing at the edge of the cliff with her dress blowing in the wind. It's a breath taking view,i wish i was there!

  • Been there hehe!!! the peak district is gorgeous though i know what you mean XD

  • I heard that in the director's cut she does a nosedive off the cliff.

  • "He's so rich!" LOL

What a reason for that! :D

  • that statue is friggen awesome.

  • I agree...that is a wonderful scene.

  • aww omg i love how mr.darcy looks so pained when he's talking to elizabeth and she's trying to smile but she looks like she could break down any second

  • he looks so sad when he's talking to her outside

  • I love her face when they first see his house. This girl is truly beautiful, one of my favorite actress.

  • isnt his sister playing the same song as lizzie did while at dinner with mr. collins and darcy?

  • you know she wished it was a full body nude statue of mr darcy lmfao jk

  • 8:15

    love the blue coat

  • how do they make that affect on the statue with the veil at 4:03? like you can still see the facial features but there is a veil over it - how do they make that out of stone?

  • I saw a statue like that when I was in Paris. The sculptor is such a genius that he can actually sculpt in stone what appears to be a face showing through a soft thin veil. It's unbelievable to see in person too.

  • THE SONG AT 1.23

    WHAT IS IT ?

  • Its called "Liz on Top of The World"

    Its a really pretty song

  • YAY CHATSWORTH! I love Chatsworth xD

  • was it permissible and common to go to other people's houses and take a tour?

  • Yes, It worked kind of like a musuem. You had to get permission, but with her aunt and uncle being of some status, they could have easily been admitted.

  • his face is just like please change your mind and marry me

  • when shes at is house 8:36

  • at 3:22 what does she laugh at?

it confused me cuz she stands up and laughs then walks away the her aunt and uncle stand up with faces that look confused.

  • I think the laugh is her realisation that Pemberley could have been her home if she had accepted Darcy. And it is'nt confusion it's admiration of the house.

  • 7:40

  • lmao, im slow, i thought (from the cliff scene on) she was having a dream. when they were in the fields it just looked like it. and the statues and such

  • ahh!!! you can so tell that what they're trying to tell each other is "i love you!!!" this part always drives me crazy but makes the ending sweeter : )

  • I love that awkwardness. It's so cute how Lizzy and Mr. Darcy start talking at the same time, like in unison. Makes me smile every time. 8:24

  • thats the same house thats in "The Duchess" which also has Keira Knightly in it.

  • It's Funny How Elizabeth laughs at 3:22lol.

  • I'd laugh too if I turned down a house that huge!

  • I just noticed that at 0:52 Elizabeth is crying. I've watched this movie ten times and I JUST noticed that.

    I suck.

  • You don't suck! This movie just has so many subtle moments which makes it such a perfect film to watch over and over again :) My personal favorite is at the first ball when Kitty says "You will never believe what we are about to tell you!" and Mr. Bennet says aside "She's going to take the veil" rofl!

  • dfg

  • Poor Mr. Darcy looks like he hasn't been sleepng well, can't you see how lovesick he is Elizabeth?

  • hahahaha i love it when they get to the palace and they see this gigantic castle like building and she laughs like holyshit i cant believe it. hahaha gets to me everytime.
