While I enjoy hearing your improvisation on an improvisation, I do think it's rather unfair to say that what you are doing is better than Demessieux's little composition. Remember that what JD composed was not a limitless-endless improvisation, but a short "treatise" if you will, on the Easter chant, was really meant as a teaching tool for young organists, similar to Dupre's 79 Chorales, or the early chorale preludes of JSBach. What you have done is exciting and good. Congratulations

Thanks for the compliment and the history behind Demessieux's little composition. I wrote my transcription of this improvisation and I've posted the Finale 2010 audio version with a manipulationof the reverb and echo functions using the Wavepad Sound Editor in my video response. I was wondering you'de be interested in playing this transcription on a real pipe organ and posting it online (see the comment section and click on the URL for the score). Tell me what you think of the transcription.

Thanks. I've recently finished a full transcription of this Organ Improvisation on Finale and I will be posting it as soon as I post my C-major Fugue (finished it today & I'm practicing playing it) and once I figure out a few technical issues (re: organcomposer's note).

Thanks-I am now transposing this piece onto my Finale program and I hope to have it done soon. What program do you use for video projections of your compositions? Do you have to output the sounds produced by the program and re-input them into the video capture program that you are using? I can only capture the video directly from my Finale program but not the sounds directly within the computer to the video capture program. I have to connect a microphone to the computer to get sound w/video.

I use Harmony-Assistant (HA) similar to Finale. I take a movie of the scrolling score with CamStudio (freeware) without the audio. Then I record the audio separately. For the audio, HA sends Midi messages to MyOrgan. I do not use the audio output of MyOrgan because MyOrgan can also create a wav file directly on my hard disk. then I run Windows Video Maker and I import the video 'cam studio" and the audio "myOrgan". I never use microphone or analog signal.

The Allen MDS I have at church is pretty good, but your organ sounds much better! I wish I could hook the MDS to a computer running Hauptwerk and essentially re-voice the whole organ! Then, it would sound like a dream instrument!
