I'm on the fence with SOPA, I use the internet for business related purposes mostly but I also enjoy the gurus and entertainment youtube offers. I like the fact that finally someone wants to control the foolishness being uploaded to the internet however it's unfair to those of us that don't internalize eerything we read or see! So, yea I'm kind of in the middle. Now the blackout is just foolery, in my personal opinion.
The main reason, that google and facebook doesn't want to support this bill is 'cause it actually will cost them money to enforce. Which will also effect productivity at their companies. In effect they will not be utilizing their staff to the fullest. They will be turning into in-effective government bureaucrats. :P

I don't agree with censorship because something that one person finds horrible, another may not even give it a second thought. Also, where would we draw the line? It's really scary about what's happening in this country. Pretty soon we won't have any rights.

Its not going to happen. If the movies these days weren't so motherfucking expensive you wouldn't have to stress or worry about people bootlegging or even people uploading new music from artists online because no one wants to go out and buy every single album just to get one or two songs downloaded. Gurl im glad someone finally speaks up and tell what is going on. About the SOPA bill my opinion is that no one should interfear with the Internet if there is no need too. I think if any one who likes a certain artist will buy their albums anyway even if they could just get it for free. Also I think the government need to wake up and not worry about whats online but to worry about saving the planet and how to stop unemployment and help the ones who are in need of food and shelter.

Last year, Obama had a closed door meeting with the heads of Google, FB, etc. I'm very curious as to what this secret meeting was really all about. I make youtube videos and I honestly think believe people artists should have creative control over their work and be compensated as well as people in television and movies. So I do agree with that part of the bill. The only thing is once the government takes over anything, they over do it and the regulation turns into something entirely different than what it was intended for. but overall, nothing in this world is free and every "celebrity" is not ballin.

We have progressively lost civil liberties post 9/11 starting with the patriot act. This along with the SOPA/ Protect IP bills are DIRECTLY geared towards govt dissent in my opinion.
