  • What a great tune! Really brings one back through time to those psychedelic days of wonder, alright...I'm from Montreal, but I just heard this song for the first time now, 40 years later...better late than never!

  • The band was from Montreal. They only released two albums. One in 1970 and another in 1971. There was also a non-album single "Love Is" / "Ride Johnny Ride" in 1972. Their 2 lp's were released on a single cd in 1999 by Collectables (Sony). However, it doesn't include this track, "Mr. Tree". Pierre Senecal reformed Mashmakhan with Allan Nicholls on vocals and put out "Dance A Little Step" as a single in 1973. Pierre Senecal toured the Maritimes as a one-man band in 1981.

  • YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Mashmakhan derives from a hallucinogen many used to take at the time.

The song is to an old man, so much of a desporadoes tone, unctuous and becoming. Je me souviens

  • @CanFraIta Many?

  • OMG, MPC to the rescue!

  • where could i buy mashmakhan cd?

  • I envy you Mr. Tree.

  • sounds nothin like young jeezys vacation

  • Young Jeezy I need a Vaca?

  • sounds super similar, but i don't think that beat has any samples. it's all synths and keys. good job noticing that, though.

  • @Netgh0st fuck Young Jeezy, btw

  • Yeah - and I have one of the two PL's mentioned, lol - and even have a turntable to play it on. A great band - wonder what they are doing now? Hey Ray or Brian - get back to me if you read this. Mel

  • One of my favorites songs from Mashmakan. Tks for this pleasure...

  • One famous unknown song. It deserves to be covered by Metallica, or Iron Maiden and why not Guns & Roses

  • or Them Crooked Vultures [Josh Hommes from Queens of the Stone Age, Dave Grohl from Foo Fighters and John Paul Jones from Led Zepplin]

  • Very cool song and band! many memories...Wow. I would love to find the LP's.I think they made at least 2,but not sure. Thanks for sharing this!!!!

  • They made only two LPs. The first being self-titled and the second named "The Family."
