well i just got swarm mappack and i hope ppl keep modding this game. i want to see a mod for weapons...we need the spear, the net, the real smart disc, minigun, and hand grenades..alien should lay eggs and we should be able to harvest AI bots online to overrun other species
1:If your a marine stay as a group and dont just use the pulse rifle use the shotgun and sniper
2:if your an alien destroy any lights u see cause darkness help never try to attack head on cause heavy attack are slow and a marine or pred can kill you before you kill them
3:if you are a predator please dont always use the plasma caster ok its an ok weapon just dont use every single time use the other weapon like saw disc or the spear
@robto333 played this game for 6 months straight, experienced every detail in this game, predators r overpowered... their melee is somewhat better and faster than alien melee, them being stunned isnt long enough, aliens and marines fall. predators win for range against marines... and marines are suppose to be the range team.... plasma castor is alot better and easier to use than a sniper... since its auto aim. marines are strong but when it comes to big maps they stink
okay its January 22 2011, is it still a good idea to buy this map pack? i've seen hate, i've seen good. but NOW is it WORTH the $ 8.00 or so? If it is which pack is better, swarm or bughunt?
From what I can tell everyone who complains about the predator just SUCKS. They're easy to beat as any of the other 2 species. The only real problems with the game are unbalanced teams and a poor matchmaking system. Be grateful there is as addition to the series, we don't get a lot of these too often.
@Balo168 You no longer supply any valid arguments, majority agrees with me predator is overpowered. Alien vs predator forums agrees with me, all predator die hard fans of course don't but pussies will play the cheapest class everytime. Sega has announced they WILL NOT change it in a downloadable update, players final answer to this was. "So basicaly Sega is telling us we wasted our money on their two-bit game and to go fuck ourselves"
@pharoahscurse Mixed Species(3vs3) : 3 Predators in a team and 2 predators in the other team and 1 marine.Me.And i won the match with about 19 points(Just me)
Aliens can not sneak up on a competent predator who is usualy on the move and switches to alien vision often, it just can't be done realy. lazy predators can also just set mines up and get free kills in this way, mines should not kill someone but injure them greatly and stun them, predator should not have it so easy, aliens need faster melee because predators atm can beat them in melee, due to more hitpoints and quicker attacks with equal damage.
@Zachylolz Don't forget that you can't counter a predator. Counter an alien or marine(not that marines get countered much) the fight's over. there's nothing you can do while you try to get back up. counter a predator and they get stunned enough to do maybe 1 heavy(if they're not the host that is). So you have the class that hits the faster getting stunned the shortest.
Even without the weapons, this class is extremely OP. Add the weapons and there's really no possible argument they're not.
@raptroes2 you can counter a pred as a marine! if he leaps at you or just normal attack (and you are blocking) he fails and then you have to instantly punch him and just SHOOT EM
@Balo168 Why would a predator attack a marine with a light attack when their heavy reaches farther, is very fast, and it all that if reguired to finish the fight?
Like I said get countered as a marine or alien the fight's over. Get countered as a predator and you still have a chance, even if it is moreso with an alien than marine, predators can survive both.
@ Balo, you need to stop defending the predator so whole heartedly, you can see many people believe predator should be nerfed, in this case it isn't the point of view of one player that wins but the opinion of the majority of players. Predators have to much hp, It takes two heavy attacks and a light attack to kill a predator, however with marines and alien it takes one heavy attack and a light attack or followed up by a square. This would be fair if the predator was very slow at melee attacks
Predator is basicaly a class with the constant fire power of a marines grenade laucnher, with twice the accuracy and the power/stealth/agility of an alien, without the ability to climb on walls but hey they make up for that with 33% more hitpoints, quicker melee attacks and a cloak.
There is absolutely no reason you shouldn't play the predator class in this game whenever u get the chance, unless your looking for a challenge and u are a skilled/mature player.
@Zachylolz as alien, you need to A: be fast and sprint all around and get behind him B: sneak around and try to get behind him, C: just kill him (geting behind him allows for you to do a trophy kill thing) Aliens are more flexible on terrain (if predator is up on a cliff, sneak up and when you near him and next to edge, and can see him[while on the side] do a heavy attack [you should do a quick little stab with tail] AIM FOR THE FACE
oh and @ anyone who says "oh all you need to do to kill a predator is to keep your eyes peeled and make sure they dont sneak up on you" ok.. you stand in a corner, you cant see the predator because hes standing still, you see a red beam, .5 seconds later a disc hits you and you die.
(your walking down a path) you hear a beep noise, .5 seconds later a mine explodes and you die.
As an alien you charge at a predator, he blocks, you fall, he uses his heavy attack, than light and u die.
@Zachylolz dont stand in a corner where the predator can be above you and at a distance (go into buildings or on gateway? hug the side of buildings and run around)you can spot mines if you pay attention(then get back and shoot it) but as marine, you want to try to keep at a good position(try not to run around the whole map)if it a predator player you should try to run around where you have a roof above you and at least 2 walls close to you, but keep moving(alien, run up to pred and hold block
Predators are overpowered... why is everything a 1 hit kill with them... why do they have more hitpoints than an alien, faster melee attacks than an alien and better stealth (cloaker) than an alien... look... serious.... either buff the marines alittle like give them flashabangs that deactivate pred cloaks in the area and while your at it buff aliens.. aliens need a way to incapaciate their target, perhaps an inaccurate acid spitting abilities that stuns the target while dealing for 2 seconds.
@Zachylolz your not playing smart if you get 1 hit killed all the time (get the hell out of the open) they have more hitpoints because the predators are bigger (i doubt they are faster at attacking) and aliens are faster runners (which is a big deal) alien not suppose to have cloak (get out of the light [even though that doesnt effect predator vision] Flash bang sounds like a good idea!! (maybe give marines claymores) Alien acid blood needs to be buffed up especially on predators
@OneScorchedSoul you just have to be smart as a marine!! instead of running out there and dieing, you need to stay out of the open, hide around corners or in small spaces where predator cant snipe you with cannon or stick, you need to pay attention to your radar, and keep shooting them in the face (if you see what looks like dirt or dust flying[where predators jump and land], spray the area with bullets)
aliens=easier to play (requires alot of gameplay to pwn) marine=difficult to play as (but once you start mastering your gunz, you pwn all) predator= a little bit easier than marine (requires a lot of practice with your weaponry) BTW predators arent OP... there was a match i had (1v2) i was a marine and the other two were predators... i pwned them >:D
yeah if fucking sucks because i bought this and i should of known there would be no one to play with on there anyway, cuz everyones out playing cod, and after like hours of waiting to join a game they wont have it anyway so its a waist of time

Kind of sad they keep coming out with more maps for the consoles but won't fix the obvious overpowered preds like they have for the pc, or so I've heard.
@LeGiTGamingInc *spoiler* when you kill the predators and are recaptured, it would be nice if escaping and killing everyone was a level (maybe if you arent captured but you have to sneak onboard the dropship that 'was' suppose to take you in.)
my opinion is that this is a great game and I'd recomend anybody to buy it if there a fan of the series. The only bad thing about this game on multiplayer is the fucking marines! If your an alien against a marine forget about it. The marines are just too overpowering.
@LukaRaPtoR if you play as aliens, try going around them or sneaking up to them (use heavy attack while on a wall, it knocks them down and hurts them ALOT) also if you look ahead of you on the ground far enough, you can leap
@Balo168 yea I've kind of got used to playing as the alien now. I'd say Its definetly the hardest class to master but once you get used to it its the most fun.
@LukaRaPtoR try beating the campaign on nightmare? (the heavy attack at a distance that just stabs quickly doesn't work in multiplayer [ it does but you have to be on a wall or side of a cliff or room])

Way overhyped update. Nothing got patched.Preds are still a bitch class. No one has it so you can't play the maps. Nothing changed. No people came back to this game, and everyone that came on here saying it was awesome, or promising new patches was lieing.
Don't do what I did and waste money on this map pack.
And as I side note: If you play as a predator all the time on this game you have no skill and are just a little bitch.

@vladut15bis I'm not saying predators are impossible to kill, just that they have more advantages that any other class in the game by a lot. If you take all the things Predators have that is better than the other classes it's pretty obvious that they're way OP.
@durp002 you have to remember that predators also have a major disadvantage. they constantly have to change their visions, otherwise if they stay on one, a different species may kill them, which is why i think vision wise, the aliens are best cause they can see through walls and see their enemies
@Hardcoredude36 You can still see the marine's light on alien vision, and you can see the aliens movement on heat vision. The only thing that is hard to see is the predator's stealth on any vision but heat.
Aliens can see through walls, but if there's any light your vision gets screwed up, and predators can zoom in so they can see people from across the map.

@MrKalkata Okay, so you don't like games that force you to get better or you die. Don't play Unreal Tournament then. I play AvP as all classes and own with all. Shotgun owns with Marine, alien tail spam from ceilings beats heavy attack spammers and predator you pretty much work out the enemy's rock,paper, scissors, fight style. It's not a difficult game.

BAD ASS! look it up its cool from the pictures and watch the previews on youtube about it ITS VERY interesting THE STORY is from battlestar glatica writers!!!
@durp002 I can tell you aren't a real fan. I reccomend that if you love this game or are a huge fan of either alien or predator, buy the map pack. Just purchasing it will support SEGA in making a sequel.
@cwSHOSHONEcw being a fan has nothing to do with it. I'm just informing these people that they shouldn't make the same mistake as me. Bought the maps as soon as they came out; I've played the 2 multiplayer lvls a total of 5 times, the games weren't even full. The only slightly redeeming part is the survivor maps cause they're way more fun than the survivor maps that come with the game+you can still enjoy them on single player Unless you're in an AVP group where everyone has this DLC it's a waste
@durp002 I have also had the map packs since they came out, i like playing the maps with my other friends who have bought the maps. I guess they are kinda a waste if you dont know anyone who has the map packs but still are fun to play if you can find anyone to play them with : ]
@durp002 I'm actually the best with alien. Second best with marine. I am still working on the predator. I get games easily, but I can't seem to find a ranked match like, ever. I think they should've let people host ranked matches and let us browse THEIR games as well. Cause I'm not finding shit in the ranked matches, therefor my fuckin' rank is stuck at level two with only one unlocked skin on the damned MARINES. UBER SADFACE.
@durp002 if im a preadtor i never use the plasma caster or mine i always use the saw disc and spear and kids who used the plasma caster every time are just bitches who cant handle a hand to hand combat
@5ghostboy The disk is really cheap too seeing as even if you are lucky enough to survive the original hit it gets on you it takes out enough of your health so that a light attack can kill you. That and the fact people use it up close makes it almost as bad as the plasma caster.
@5ghostboy Using the disk up close on an alien trying to fight you is pretty much one of the cheapest things in the game. The only weapon the pred has that isn't cheap is the spear, and maybe mines since sometimes they don't kill you when they blow up. Not that it matters thought since the class is the strongest even without weapons.
@durp002 i say the predator is over powerd the human underpowerd know its horrible in close combat unless you block and counter and the alien is like perfect
@5ghostboy I think the human's fine as long as you get other weapons The sniper and shotgun rape close range on aliens, but since preds can be cheap and hit you from across the map, which is usually what they do when they start losing on a species team, you can't do anything about it since the preds cloaking makes it a pain to find even with the sniper scope. Or if the preds good and doesn't use weapons they'll use the cheap ass charge attack which 90% of the time knocks you on the ground.
personally i think that there are 3 times as many people that play this game online on the pc than the 360 or ps3. i honestly could only find one guy playing on the 360. i hope for the next one they make the game better so more people can play it. or they could combine all the servers into one, that would be sweet. can you do that with a game?
I love avp and think it is underrated, the species are well balanced, marines (if they know how to fight) are not underpowered at all if you can counter attack and aim you can play all of the species and they will feel balanced
they make the game look fun but it turns out thats its fucking rigged for preds...marines definitely have it worse in the game. questions as to why you can even play as marine when they just feed everyone who is alien or preds kills...

I seem to find more people on ranked matches on the PS3, trust me..once u get in a ranked match with at least 4 people its hella fun and u dun wanna stop, after the match more people join within seconds :D
people still play this game but not in ranked matches only in player matches n after you do that go to browse then any type of match and you will have a better chance of finding a game i play it with up to 14 people almost every day on 360

I already bought the map pack but for some reason it disappeared off of the market place. I joined a mixed species game and a guy was asking about the pack being taken away. Why did it happen?
@undead4500 yea, they got mad because they made new DLC but guess what? LOTS OF PPL getting the new DLC cuz it looks awesome, on the forum there was a poll saying how many ppl are getting this? it scored 50% ppl getting this and 10 % not getting it, also new patch is coming so dont give up ;)
there is ppl playing just not the rank matches and the new update allowed xp for all mulitplayer except survivor and the preds did get nerfed as they can get knockdowned now

@raptroes2 lots of ppl have the new bug hunt map more than the swarm pack, because the swarm pack SUCKED! i got the bug hunt pack and the map crash shite is the best! biggest map in avp ;)
@EZ492 don't forget they have the most health, don't get knocked down when you counter, have unlimited use of the disk, which can easily take out 2 enemies at a time if you're good with it. Not to mention their jump which makes them a pain to grab.

@raptroes2 Not really.In face to face combat with a Predator(And i was a marine) i beat the shit out of it. He was like 2 feet away,and i was shooting in him.Then i blocked his light attack,and bam! Counter attack with the gun over it''s face and 20 bullets in his chest and he died : ) .If you know how to use the marines class,you will see that they are overpowered
@raptroes2 its not that overpowering. i take down predators all the time as a marine. in fact all the classes are overpowered in their own way. the alien class is super frigging fast so its hard to catch them and with the marines when ever they counter attack u they load their whole clip into u with their shot gun pulse rifle. the smart gun is also overpowering because it auto locks on u. so stop ur wining and enjoy the game. every game has issues look at modern warfare 2 has tons of issues
@gigan3600 Overpowered? No as every other class has a problem that makes up for that power. Aliens are fast, but Preds are just as fast except they can't keep up the speed as long. Marines have a lot of firepower, but they have the least amount of health.
I wasn't whining I was stating facts. Predators are overpowered in almost every way. Best melee fighters, most health more stealth than aliens, 3 long range weapons that are all pretty much one hit kills. What other class have all that
@raptroes2 I'm sorry, but as an Alien I usually beat a Pred player one to one with melee. In fact I can pretty solidly take two predators in close up melee combat (He says remembering a couple games he played this morning) So I really don't understand where all this stuff about Predators being to overpowered comes from. My best species is alien and I usually find Preds easy and Marines harder because of the firepower (mainly pain in the ass shotguns)
@skullkid325 Just because you can beat a predator doesn't mean they're not OP. It just means you were a better player than them. I've already said why predators are overpowered( a lot actually), so you can just look through the comments and see why. If you beat 2 at once then those predators were terrible, or you were at a place like pyramid and just hit them on the wall with your tail, however they still suck cause one wasn't able to take you off the wall.
@raptroes2 the marine and alien class r overpowering too. i take down predators as a marine all the time. every game has issue so stop bitching and enjoy it. look at modern warfare 2. it has waaaaaay more issues than AVP and 300 000 people play it online everyday.
@raptroes2 I play as an Alien (favourably) and I find it easy to kill Predators or Marines. I mean, I rack up 30+ kills a game easily in a game where I have a few team mates. See, the trick is to not be a retard and not run straight in their faces where they're going to own you. Predators do NOT rule every game. They actually rarely win, when I play anyway. And usually when they do win I'm on that team anyway -.-
@juliancomputerfreak Um I'm not quite sure what you're saying. If I'm right and you're saying "Preds used to be overpowered", then that doesn't make much sense since there was never an update to nerf them.
@raptroes2 you know, any class if overpowered, and what makes it that way is not the class itself, but the person's skill level with that class, playing as predator, say during a mixed death match, is quite difficult, switching visors over and over again to cover your bases, plus, predators are ment to be stationary, long range killers, so sitting in one place is the idea, and its dangerous at the same time
@GilgameshSlicer play on hd settings. I have no problem seeing marine lights on alien vision or alien movement on heat vision. The different vision seeings don't excuse of how op this class is.
They're meant to be long range? That's funny seeing as if that was true you'd think the alien would have an advantage close up but nope. Faster heavy, almost no effect from getting countered points to this class being for close range
@raptroes2 plus of course they have a lot of health, if blindsided while being stationary, you'll at least need something to give you a fighting chance, most people shoot their mouth off about this game without knowing much about it, i admit, this game would be better if it wasnt half ass made, but the people who whine about this game havent yet found a right class that fits them, and havent mastered its qualities yet.
@GilgameshSlicer but they also have lock on plasma caster and the disk for long range. So they get to be best at that too. Not including the mines which you can lay randomly around the map and get kills, or you can use them to camp, your choice, but you get like 5 or 6 I think so you can prob do both. Having the most health wouldn't be a problem if they weren't the best at EVERYTHING else too.

@raptroes2 i play as alien and marine, they o.k. (i won a 1v2 match when i was a marine and the other 2 were predators, they were pros, but i kicked their asses)
@Balo168 Obviously they weren't pro. there are only 3 possible ways a marine, or alien can beat a predator in a 1v1 fight.
1They are WAY better than the person playing the pred.
2They are host.
3The map gives them an advantage
If you had 2 even players going on an even map, a pred and the other an alien the pred would win almost all the time, in an actual fight(not just stealth skills). Marines are slightly more even with them, but if pred use weapons it's over for them too.
@raptroes2 4 you know how to play and win!! i kept moving and stayed in small area, and had them come for me, and i sniped them with sniper, and murdered them with rifle, i naded them and blew them away. (sniper works well when they looking around trying to get you and your motion tracker should where they are so you can get head shots)[need 1-3 shots in their face]
A good predator would have just shoot you with a plasma caster, or a disk from halfway across the map. If they didn't want to be cheap and use the bitch weapons, a GOOD predator could still have gotten to you and done one heavy. Since it's fast and they have stealth a GOOD pred would have been able to do it easy.
Stop trying to defend the cheapest class in the game just because you had 1lucky game. You only won because of 1 of the 3 conditions I named

From what I can tell everyone who complains about the predator just SUCKS. They're easy to beat as any of the other 2 species. The only real problems with the game are unbalanced teams and a poor matchmaking system. Be grateful there is as addition to the series, we don't get a lot of these too often.

Alien vs predator forums agrees with me, all predator die hard fans of course don't but pussies will play the cheapest class everytime. Sega has announced they WILL NOT change it in a downloadable update, players final answer to this was. "So basicaly Sega is telling us we wasted our money on their two-bit game and to go fuck ourselves"

Aliens can not sneak up on a competent predator who is usualy on the move and switches to alien vision often, it just can't be done realy. lazy predators can also just set mines up and get free kills in this way, mines should not kill someone but injure them greatly and stun them, predator should not have it so easy, aliens need faster melee because predators atm can beat them in melee, due to more hitpoints and quicker attacks with equal damage.

@Zachylolz Don't forget that you can't counter a predator. Counter an alien or marine(not that marines get countered much) the fight's over. there's nothing you can do while you try to get back up. counter a predator and they get stunned enough to do maybe 1 heavy(if they're not the host that is). So you have the class that hits the faster getting stunned the shortest.
Even without the weapons, this class is extremely OP. Add the weapons and there's really no possible argument they're not.

@raptroes2 you can counter a pred as a marine! if he leaps at you or just normal attack (and you are blocking) he fails and then you have to instantly punch him and just SHOOT EM

@Balo168 Why would a predator attack a marine with a light attack when their heavy reaches farther, is very fast, and it all that if reguired to finish the fight?
Like I said get countered as a marine or alien the fight's over. Get countered as a predator and you still have a chance, even if it is moreso with an alien than marine, predators can survive both.

@ Balo, you need to stop defending the predator so whole heartedly, you can see many people believe predator should be nerfed, in this case it isn't the point of view of one player that wins but the opinion of the majority of players. Predators have to much hp, It takes two heavy attacks and a light attack to kill a predator, however with marines and alien it takes one heavy attack and a light attack or followed up by a square. This would be fair if the predator was very slow at melee attacks

Predator is basicaly a class with the constant fire power of a marines grenade laucnher, with twice the accuracy and the power/stealth/agility of an alien, without the ability to climb on walls but hey they make up for that with 33% more hitpoints, quicker melee attacks and a cloak.
There is absolutely no reason you shouldn't play the predator class in this game whenever u get the chance, unless your looking for a challenge and u are a skilled/mature player.

@Zachylolz as alien, you need to A: be fast and sprint all around and get behind him B: sneak around and try to get behind him, C: just kill him (geting behind him allows for you to do a trophy kill thing) Aliens are more flexible on terrain (if predator is up on a cliff, sneak up and when you near him and next to edge, and can see him[while on the side] do a heavy attack [you should do a quick little stab with tail] AIM FOR THE FACE

oh and @ anyone who says "oh all you need to do to kill a predator is to keep your eyes peeled and make sure they dont sneak up on you" ok.. you stand in a corner, you cant see the predator because hes standing still, you see a red beam, .5 seconds later a disc hits you and you die.
(your walking down a path) you hear a beep noise, .5 seconds later a mine explodes and you die.
As an alien you charge at a predator, he blocks, you fall, he uses his heavy attack, than light and u die.

@Zachylolz dont stand in a corner where the predator can be above you and at a distance (go into buildings or on gateway? hug the side of buildings and run around)you can spot mines if you pay attention(then get back and shoot it) but as marine, you want to try to keep at a good position(try not to run around the whole map)if it a predator player you should try to run around where you have a roof above you and at least 2 walls close to you, but keep moving(alien, run up to pred and hold block

Predators are overpowered... why is everything a 1 hit kill with them... why do they have more hitpoints than an alien, faster melee attacks than an alien and better stealth (cloaker) than an alien... look... serious.... either buff the marines alittle like give them flashabangs that deactivate pred cloaks in the area and while your at it buff aliens.. aliens need a way to incapaciate their target, perhaps an inaccurate acid spitting abilities that stuns the target while dealing for 2 seconds.

@Zachylolz your not playing smart if you get 1 hit killed all the time (get the hell out of the open) they have more hitpoints because the predators are bigger (i doubt they are faster at attacking) and aliens are faster runners (which is a big deal) alien not suppose to have cloak (get out of the light [even though that doesnt effect predator vision] Flash bang sounds like a good idea!! (maybe give marines claymores) Alien acid blood needs to be buffed up especially on predators

@OneScorchedSoul you just have to be smart as a marine!! instead of running out there and dieing, you need to stay out of the open, hide around corners or in small spaces where predator cant snipe you with cannon or stick, you need to pay attention to your radar, and keep shooting them in the face (if you see what looks like dirt or dust flying[where predators jump and land], spray the area with bullets)

aliens=easier to play (requires alot of gameplay to pwn) marine=difficult to play as (but once you start mastering your gunz, you pwn all) predator= a little bit easier than marine (requires a lot of practice with your weaponry) BTW predators arent OP... there was a match i had (1v2) i was a marine and the other two were predators... i pwned them >:D

@LeGiTGamingInc *spoiler* when you kill the predators and are recaptured, it would be nice if escaping and killing everyone was a level (maybe if you arent captured but you have to sneak onboard the dropship that 'was' suppose to take you in.)

my opinion is that this is a great game and I'd recomend anybody to buy it if there a fan of the series. The only bad thing about this game on multiplayer is the fucking marines! If your an alien against a marine forget about it. The marines are just too overpowering.

Well after buying map pack this I'm here to tell everyone.
Way overhyped update. Nothing got patched.Preds are still a bitch class. No one has it so you can't play the maps. Nothing changed. No people came back to this game, and everyone that came on here saying it was awesome, or promising new patches was lieing.
Don't do what I did and waste money on this map pack.
And as I side note: If you play as a predator all the time on this game you have no skill and are just a little bitch.

@durp002 you have to remember that predators also have a major disadvantage. they constantly have to change their visions, otherwise if they stay on one, a different species may kill them, which is why i think vision wise, the aliens are best cause they can see through walls and see their enemies

@Hardcoredude36 You can still see the marine's light on alien vision, and you can see the aliens movement on heat vision. The only thing that is hard to see is the predator's stealth on any vision but heat.
Aliens can see through walls, but if there's any light your vision gets screwed up, and predators can zoom in so they can see people from across the map.

Shotgun owns with Marine, alien tail spam from ceilings beats heavy attack spammers and predator you pretty much work out the enemy's rock,paper, scissors, fight style. It's not a difficult game.

Bought the maps as soon as they came out; I've played the 2 multiplayer lvls a total of 5 times, the games weren't even full. The only slightly redeeming part is the survivor maps cause they're way more fun than the survivor maps that come with the game+you can still enjoy them on single player Unless you're in an AVP group where everyone has this DLC it's a waste

I think they should've let people host ranked matches and let us browse THEIR games as well. Cause I'm not finding shit in the ranked matches, therefor my fuckin' rank is stuck at level two with only one unlocked skin on the damned MARINES. UBER SADFACE.

@5ghostboy The disk is really cheap too seeing as even if you are lucky enough to survive the original hit it gets on you it takes out enough of your health so that a light attack can kill you. That and the fact people use it up close makes it almost as bad as the plasma caster.

@5ghostboy Using the disk up close on an alien trying to fight you is pretty much one of the cheapest things in the game. The only weapon the pred has that isn't cheap is the spear, and maybe mines since sometimes they don't kill you when they blow up. Not that it matters thought since the class is the strongest even without weapons.

@5ghostboy I think the human's fine as long as you get other weapons The sniper and shotgun rape close range on aliens, but since preds can be cheap and hit you from across the map, which is usually what they do when they start losing on a species team, you can't do anything about it since the preds cloaking makes it a pain to find even with the sniper scope. Or if the preds good and doesn't use weapons they'll use the cheap ass charge attack which 90% of the time knocks you on the ground.

personally i think that there are 3 times as many people that play this game online on the pc than the 360 or ps3. i honestly could only find one guy playing on the 360. i hope for the next one they make the game better so more people can play it. or they could combine all the servers into one, that would be sweet. can you do that with a game?

I love avp and think it is underrated, the species are well balanced, marines (if they know how to fight) are not underpowered at all if you can counter attack and aim you can play all of the species and they will feel balanced

I seem to find more people on ranked matches on the PS3, trust me..once u get in a ranked match with at least 4 people its hella fun and u dun wanna stop, after the match more people join within seconds :D

people still play this game but not in ranked matches only in player matches n after you do that go to browse then any type of match and you will have a better chance of finding a game i play it with up to 14 people almost every day on 360

@EZ492 don't forget they have the most health, don't get knocked down when you counter, have unlimited use of the disk, which can easily take out 2 enemies at a time if you're good with it. Not to mention their jump which makes them a pain to grab.
Almost everything about this class is overpowered.

@raptroes2 Not really.In face to face combat with a Predator(And i was a marine) i beat the shit out of it. He was like 2 feet away,and i was shooting in him.Then i blocked his light attack,and bam! Counter attack with the gun over it''s face and 20 bullets in his chest and he died : ) .If you know how to use the marines class,you will see that they are overpowered

@vladut15bis Just from that description I can tell that pred sucked.
1. he attacked you straight on
2. he used a light attack.
Marine are in NO way overpowered for 1 reason. They can deal out a decent amount of damage from mid combat, but they have the lowest health.
Preds on the other hand are the best at long and short range combat, and the reasons that I've supplied in other responses.

@raptroes2 its not that overpowering. i take down predators all the time as a marine. in fact all the classes are overpowered in their own way. the alien class is super frigging fast so its hard to catch them and with the marines when ever they counter attack u they load their whole clip into u with their shot gun pulse rifle. the smart gun is also overpowering because it auto locks on u. so stop ur wining and enjoy the game. every game has issues look at modern warfare 2 has tons of issues

@gigan3600 Overpowered? No as every other class has a problem that makes up for that power. Aliens are fast, but Preds are just as fast except they can't keep up the speed as long. Marines have a lot of firepower, but they have the least amount of health.
I wasn't whining I was stating facts. Predators are overpowered in almost every way. Best melee fighters, most health more stealth than aliens, 3 long range weapons that are all pretty much one hit kills. What other class have all that

@raptroes2 I'm sorry, but as an Alien I usually beat a Pred player one to one with melee. In fact I can pretty solidly take two predators in close up melee combat (He says remembering a couple games he played this morning) So I really don't understand where all this stuff about Predators being to overpowered comes from. My best species is alien and I usually find Preds easy and Marines harder because of the firepower (mainly pain in the ass shotguns)

@skullkid325 Just because you can beat a predator doesn't mean they're not OP. It just means you were a better player than them. I've already said why predators are overpowered( a lot actually), so you can just look through the comments and see why. If you beat 2 at once then those predators were terrible, or you were at a place like pyramid and just hit them on the wall with your tail, however they still suck cause one wasn't able to take you off the wall.

@raptroes2 the marine and alien class r overpowering too. i take down predators as a marine all the time. every game has issue so stop bitching and enjoy it. look at modern warfare 2. it has waaaaaay more issues than AVP and 300 000 people play it online everyday.

@raptroes2 I play as an Alien (favourably) and I find it easy to kill Predators or Marines. I mean, I rack up 30+ kills a game easily in a game where I have a few team mates. See, the trick is to not be a retard and not run straight in their faces where they're going to own you. Predators do NOT rule every game. They actually rarely win, when I play anyway. And usually when they do win I'm on that team anyway -.-

@raptroes2 you know, any class if overpowered, and what makes it that way is not the class itself, but the person's skill level with that class, playing as predator, say during a mixed death match, is quite difficult, switching visors over and over again to cover your bases, plus, predators are ment to be stationary, long range killers, so sitting in one place is the idea, and its dangerous at the same time

@GilgameshSlicer play on hd settings. I have no problem seeing marine lights on alien vision or alien movement on heat vision. The different vision seeings don't excuse of how op this class is.
They're meant to be long range? That's funny seeing as if that was true you'd think the alien would have an advantage close up but nope. Faster heavy, almost no effect from getting countered points to this class being for close range

@raptroes2 plus of course they have a lot of health, if blindsided while being stationary, you'll at least need something to give you a fighting chance, most people shoot their mouth off about this game without knowing much about it, i admit, this game would be better if it wasnt half ass made, but the people who whine about this game havent yet found a right class that fits them, and havent mastered its qualities yet.

@GilgameshSlicer but they also have lock on plasma caster and the disk for long range. So they get to be best at that too. Not including the mines which you can lay randomly around the map and get kills, or you can use them to camp, your choice, but you get like 5 or 6 I think so you can prob do both. Having the most health wouldn't be a problem if they weren't the best at EVERYTHING else too.

So you think it's fine that they have fastest melee, best weapons, and don't get knocked down when you counter?Get countered as an alien, and you're through, pred mabe get 1 heavy attack before they can fight back. Not that it matters since they have more health.They attack faster so going 1v1 against them as an alien is over unless you're WAY better than the player. You must be a pred fanboy cause no1 else would say they're fine

@raptroes2 i play as alien and marine, they o.k. (i won a 1v2 match when i was a marine and the other 2 were predators, they were pros, but i kicked their asses)

@Balo168 Obviously they weren't pro. there are only 3 possible ways a marine, or alien can beat a predator in a 1v1 fight.
1They are WAY better than the person playing the pred.
2They are host.
3The map gives them an advantage
If you had 2 even players going on an even map, a pred and the other an alien the pred would win almost all the time, in an actual fight(not just stealth skills). Marines are slightly more even with them, but if pred use weapons it's over for them too.

@raptroes2 4 you know how to play and win!! i kept moving and stayed in small area, and had them come for me, and i sniped them with sniper, and murdered them with rifle, i naded them and blew them away. (sniper works well when they looking around trying to get you and your motion tracker should where they are so you can get head shots)[need 1-3 shots in their face]

A good predator would have just shoot you with a plasma caster, or a disk from halfway across the map. If they didn't want to be cheap and use the bitch weapons, a GOOD predator could still have gotten to you and done one heavy. Since it's fast and they have stealth a GOOD pred would have been able to do it easy.
Stop trying to defend the cheapest class in the game just because you had 1lucky game. You only won because of 1 of the 3 conditions I named
