kostner should NOT be in the podium. mao fall at free skate & did not see maturity on her skate as yuna. triple axel is not all that counts; there is other elements as well to be a champion but won the gold. well, i do see controversial judging;

Hmm, I didn't see the scowl; just because Mao's face wasn't all smiley, doesn't mean she doesn't like YuNa. But they aren't too close. For exmple when u looked at them hugging when yuNa came to the podium, Mao barely hugged her, as opposed to Carolina, which actually looked genuine.

i think they ARE friends off the ice, but they are both very VERY competitive when they skate, so probably they are like "grrrrrr!!" during the ocmpetitions! search for "mao yu-na rivals friends" and you can see their cute friendly pictures.

Probably you don't know that Yukari's technical score was much below Yuna's and Mao's. Although her performance was lively and inspiring, her score was the best she could get (See, her PCS is higher than Yuna's). If judges had a fair mind, Yuna would have won the gold.

As much as I'm a big fan of Yu-Na's, I don't get why ppl are saying Yu-Na should have won the title. I do see some controversial judging and I'm not happy with Carolina getting a silver, but Mao certainly deserved her gold IMHO. I'm so proud of Yu-Na that she fought back and won the free skate. Win or not she still is the best skater and the most beautiful one in my eyes. Hopefully Yu-Na will be next World Champion, so let's not tarnish other skater's achievements.

Costner's winning silver medal is the result of the biased judgment from her homegroud. God knows that Yu-Na Kim deserves it!

to those complaining about the judging, would you explain this to me? before you make claims about the judging, you need to present your case. right now, all i see is someone with little knowledge of skating complaining about the results because they don't know how the judging works.

The only justice the lay person - i.e. non-judge - would have seen come out of Thursday's women's long program at the 2008 world figure skating championships was when Yu-Na Kim, Brian Orser's ethereal little Korean teenage skater, was rewarded with the night's best score, even if all it got her was a bronze medal in the final calculation.

In contrast, Kim was so solid except one a little shaky landing on 3S. Do you think that Costner's second jump of the 2A-3T was fully rotated? Look at the slow vid between her performance and K&C. That was deserved to be downgraded. And she said "girls from ASIA". You'd better not to compare Kostner, a white woman with racism, and YunA Kim any longer. It's so shame, isn't it?
